One of the cutest, coziest, most romantic restaurants in LA! The energy here is so calm and serene - you truly can feel it from the moment you walk through the ivy archway. Truly a Topanga gem with such a special history!

The food is so intentional - everything is locally sourced and organic. I had the brown rice breakfast bowl and loved it. The sweet potato fries are also *chef's kiss*.

Would be a great spot for a date night, anniversary celebration, or a birthday brunch with your girlfriends.

Also be sure to check out the bookstore on the property, as well! Lots of spiritual books and gift items for sale.

Can't wait to go back!

This Sunday, we decided to have lunch at the Inn of the Seventh Ray. I ordered the Turkey panini with garlic truffle fries the portions are generous, and the dishes are creative and flavorful. This place has never disappointed us. Great tasting food, great service, and a beautiful view. The recent rains have made this restaurant even more beautiful, with the water running high and the trees and plants blooming with flowers.

Nestled in a magical forest-like setting, the Inn Of The Seventh Ray offers a dining experience that feels like stepping into a secret garden filled with enchantment. As the sun sets, the restaurant truly comes to life with dazzling lights that sparkle and a symphony of nature sounds, including the gentle babbling of a creek and the chorus of frogs and other creatures of the night.

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the hostess and promptly escorted to our seats. Having made reservations in advance to celebrate our anniversary, the restaurant held a special place in our hearts, as it was where I had proposed to my partner 18 years ago.

The true highlight of the evening, however, was our waiter Saul, who provided impeccable service and truly elevated our dining experience. His attentiveness and friendly demeanor set the stage for a memorable evening. I entrusted him to curate our meal, and he did not disappoint.

Our culinary journey began with the Crispy Shrimp Cakes with sauce Louie, piquillo peppers, parsley, and fennel, a delightful starter priced at $20.00. The flavors were expertly balanced, and the shrimp cakes were perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining tender on the inside.

Next, we savored the Beef Tartare served with truffle egg, green apple, soy, sesame, and brioche for $21.00. The dish was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors, showcasing the chef's skillful execution and attention to detail.

For the third course, we enjoyed the Yellowfin Tuna Crudo with white ponzu, herbs, cucumber, and olive, priced at $22.00. The freshness of the tuna shone through, complemented by the bright and zesty flavors of the accompanying ingredients.

Our fourth course was the Seared Diver Scallops with wild mushrooms, snap peas & tendrils, artichoke creme, and charred lemon, a luxurious dish priced at $48.00. The scallops were perfectly seared to a golden brown, and each bite was a symphony of flavors and textures.

For our fifth course, we indulged in the Oven Roasted Sea Bass with saffron fumet, sancerre-braised leeks, and fennel, priced at $44.00. The sea bass was cooked to perfection, with a delicate flakiness that paired beautifully with the aromatic saffron fumet and tender braised leeks.

Moving on to the sixth course, we delighted in the 8-Hour Braised Short Rib served with creamy rosemary polenta, duck bacon Brussels sprouts, and caramelized onion & fig jam, priced at $55.00. The short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the accompanying sides added layers of richness and depth to the dish.

Our penultimate savory course was the 8oz Oven Roasted Filet Mignon accompanied by truffle whipped potatoes, watercress, salmoriglio, and vinegar-braised cipollini onion, priced at $64.00. The filet mignon was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, showcasing the quality of the meat, and the sides enhanced the dish with their complementary flavors.

To conclude our exquisite meal, we enjoyed the Banana Bread Pudding with caramel, candied banana, and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, priced at $14.00. The warm, comforting flavors of the banana bread pudding paired with the cool sweetness of the ice cream created a delightful end to our culinary journey.

In conclusion, our dining experience at the Inn Of The Seventh Ray was nothing short of exceptional. From the enchanting setting reminiscent of a hidden secret garden to the impeccable service and the masterfully crafted dishes, every aspect of our evening was a testament to the restaurant's dedication to providing a memorable dining experience.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Inn Of The Seventh Ray to anyone looking for a magical escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, where every bite is a journey of flavors and every moment is infused with a sense of wonder and delight. It is truly a gem waiting to be discovered, and a place where culinary dreams come true.

Venue was gorgeous. Went there for valentines day and had the five course meal.

Food tasted fantastic, though the spacing of the course was a little fast. We were still eating the sushi by the time the main course came out. Pro tip: if you're a light weight, the wine pairing foe the five course meal is too much.

I usually finish two beers, or two cocktails and I'm buzzed. For me, I was drunk three wine glasses in. So I wasn't able to finish the wine foe every pairing.

Suggestion: pay for 1 wine pairing with the five course meal, and split that among the two people. That way you finish the wine, don't waste it and still get the experience.

Service was very attentive, they even gave us a round of wine on the house because one of the courses was slightly delayed.

Pro tip: restaurant is located in the mountains. Dress warm. Bring jackets and sweaters!

I wish I can leave more stars for the venue and Amanda (our wedding coordinator.) When my husband and I were looking for venues in the Los Angeles area, we stumbled upon Inn of the Seventh Ray. We were both floored at how professional, personable, and creative Amanda was on our intake meeting. Since our initial intake till the end of the wedding, Amanda has delivered and exceeded our expectations as it relates to her communication; clearly an expert in her field, by ways of creative solutions she would immediately respond with to any potential issues we foresaw. Amanda is also genuine and personable and saw the vision I laid out for her and delivered on all measures. The wedding was beautiful, beyond exceptional, the bar was flowing, the food was phenomenal, cocktail hour was beautiful and all our guests have commented that they’ve never been somewhere so beautiful before or that they’ve never attended a more beautiful wedding.

Thank you Amanda for making our day memorable, exactly as we discussed, and with no drama! You are amazing!!

A unique So-Cal destination far off the beaten path that exudes warmth and spirituality (yes, at an eatery!). Go there with time, an open mind, and yes, an appetite, and you will be in for a treat. The location next to a stream in a shallow gorge, unpretentious, wholesome layout, wonderful people, and an unusual store attached to the Inn, all conspire to make this memorable.

This is the most magical and delicious restaurant! Tucked away, under ancient oak trees, next to a seasonal creek in Topanga Canyon, this rustic, yet classy restaurant is the perfect place for an evening out with friends, or even a very special occasion!
The menu, grassfed, organic, local, wildcaught… & the menu is seed oil free, as mostly everything is cooked in the highest quality, butter, or olive oil!!! There are gluten-free options, vegan options, and the best animal-based options in Los Angeles. They even use reverse osmosis filtered water! Healthy delicious restaurant which is also so magical!

I took my friend, who had never been here for her 50th Birthday.
She Loved it!
I made an online reservation for 11am and we were the first patrons of the day.
Alyssa greeted us with a big smile and said we could pick wherever we wanted to sit. Needless to say we changed our table three times ( before anyone else had gotten there) because we wanted to experience different views of the natural babbling creek, fountains and foliage. There is so much Beauty in this outdoor dining Enchanted Oasis. You can sit creekside or tucked away in romantic cubby hole.
My friend ordered the grilled cheese sandwich which came with a small salad and I ordered the broccolini omelette which also came with a small salad and fingerling potatoes. Both of our meals were fantastic and my friend said it's the best grilled cheese sandwich she has ever had! We also ordered the garlic french fries that came with an aioli dipping sauce and both were unbelievable delicious!!!
Alyssa was a very welcoming, patient and attentive server. I let her know it was my friend's birthday and she brought out a surprise piece of birthday Cheesecake that had cinnamon and butterscotch drizzled on it. It was phenomenal! After our meal we went upstairs to the metaphysical bookstore which had an array of crystals, singing bowls, books, incense and other intriguing collectibles. Priscilla, the young lady behind the counter was kind enough to help me with one of the singing bowls; she of course made far more beautiful music than I and she assured me it was "just practice" that I needed. The atmosphere at the Inn of the Seventh Ray is one of zen, very calming and relaxing. Even the bathrooms are hippie dippy adorable. We also enjoyed the story on the back of the menu of how the Inn came into fruition.
I have been coming to this place for over 30 years and have loved it every time. As a first timer, my friend said it was one of her best experiences she's ever had!!

inn of the seventh ray is probably one of the best romantic restaurants in California. there's nothing like the sound of running water along the creek. The restaurant is absolutely stunning. we celebrate my girlfriend's birthday here and she absolutely loved i. if you want to make her feel special, bring her here.

the food is phenomenal, and the bread pudding is just out of this world. there's also a gift shop there if you're into Crystal's and things like that. i definitely recommend coming here for a special occasion. i paid like 165 for everything, not including 45 dollars tip

This place is so magical and the staff is amazing! Especially Amanda, the venues wedding coordinator! We held our wedding here just recently and she really helped bring it all come to life. You can tell she’s been doing this for a long time, as she was so calm and in control no matter what would come up. Leading up to the wedding she was always so helpful and prompt with all questions that I would have. The rest of the staff as well was so nice and accommodating and the food was wonderful. I still have friends and family talking about it.

Thank you Amanda and Inn of the Seventh Ray team for making my fairytale wedding come to fruition . I’ll still be a regular customer for dinners and brunch :)

Delightful location with a cool vibe yet also sofisticated. The food was of course delicious and ethically sourced which is worth a trip alone. Top tip - bring some layers especially if dining in the evening as it quite shaded and cool. There are heaters but you might not be near one.

What a fantastic place with water running through the Creek. I took my wife for breakfast, and it was everything and more I read about. Each dish is freshly made, so be patient; the taste of the food is heavenly, and the presentation is unique.
Order the homemade cinnamon rolls.

The staff is amiable and helpful.
Worth the drive.

The most beautiful restaurant I’ve ever been to in my entire life. Incredibly romantic. At night it’s lit up beautifully and is an extremely classy setting. I’m iffy about dining outdoors because of bugs, however there was not one bug in sight so I was able to enjoy my night. The food was very yummy. Was a perfect date night.

Beautiful place with great service. The food is tasty but nothing special. I went for Mothers Day Brunch so it was packed but we still got great service.

What a find! We entered the restaurant and were so impressed by the setting. Set by a creek and surrounded by greenery, it is a beautiful and romantic environment. The service was great and so was the food.

We dined here twice for supper in our 3 days in the area. The fist visit we had the heirloom tomato salad, sea bass and salmon, then the second time we had short rib and the pesto linguine.

Highly recommended!!

What is there about Inn of the Seventh Ray that hasn't already been said? If you know, well, you know; if you've yet to visit, treat yourself.

This restaurant frequently doubles as a wedding venue, and for good reason. Its natural, whimsical atmosphere is evocative of A Midsummer Night's Dream, especially when a chorus of frogs is singing and the canopy of trees above the creekside veranda is lit by twinkling fairy lights after sunset. There is a quaint indoor dining area with a fireplace, but it's almost always empty, because it pales in comparison to the tables, sights, and sounds outside.

Equally as impressive are the service and menu, as you can tell the staff, both in the front of the house and in the kitchen, are happy to be here. Granted, there are always bound to be exceptions, but I've been fortunate to only ever have the most positive of experiences. Whether you're a carnivore, pescatarian, or vegan, you'll be delighted to find plenty of options.
