Wylie's Bait & Tackle

We stopped by the wine place next door, and I saw the sign for Wylie's while finishing a glass and knew I had to stop in. The lady running it was super! The prices seemed good, and the selection was what I expected. AND in business since 1946... WOW... If you fish and live here or visit, you need to stop in and support a great pillar of the fishing community.

What a sweet old lady Ginny is. Out of towners like us walk in looking for tackle for surf fishing and she was very friendly to us. Caught some baby sharks on the beach and had lots of fun.

She's one of the best owners out there she knows Spanish and has great deals.. hope your doing good last time we went someone told me you were in the hospital hope you had a quick recovery!

Was here few months ago (2021). Just north of Topanga Canyon Bl on PCH. Wylie and Ginny were ALWAYS very helpful. Wylie has passed away and Ginny has taken over. If You want to know what's biting and what to use, this is the place to get the info!

I have been coming to Wylie’s for years. Ginny is a wonderful person and so helpful. I find myself lingering and chatting with her quite a bit. Always willing to help anybody! She has the best prices and best bait around the bay! Stop in and she will sort you out!

What a fun experience! A fist timer, Ginny set me up with everything I needed to get started. This is a throwback of old time country store meets a fishing shop. Ginny is granddaughter of the founder and she will take care of all your fishing needs, including showing a newcomer the ropes. At the very least swing buy to pick up some snack and hear some great stories.

This place has been my main stop for 30 yrs, best deals around. I've traveled from Las Vegas and the High Desert to Julie's for all my fishing gear. Always satisfied with my experience here. I hope they never close down, I'll be lost without this place.

The go-to spot for awesome service and all your fishing needs. If the white car is out front and the door is locked, just ring the bell, she's in the shop. You just don't find great little shops like this anymore, and I never go without at least on visit on my fishing weekends!

Ginny is great! Cool store good prices and she's very knowledgeable about what's going on, what works and what doesn't! Will come back again just to visit even if I'm surfing or in the area..

Ginny Wylie, has the most intimate fishing tackle store in California ! Since 1946 the Oldest Tackle store, in California, as well. Extremely knowledgeable, in local fishing activities, and retailer of quality baits. A True California Landmark !

What a great little bait store, i walk in while i was in the states from Aus to find this wonderfull lady behind the counter.
while i was looking around i noticed that she had currency from all over the world pretty much all over her wall, i was unable to find a aus note so i gave her a $10 note to hang up she was so excited she wanted to give a presant, after about half an hour of trying to tell her its not required i gave in so she gave me a Beenie and i have not stoped wearing it.

Looks like i need to go back to the states to get another one

I am new to the area, just touring. I needed help with information on the area and fishing regulation and this was the place to go. Nothing but hospitality and enthusiasm! Definitely gunna visit again

Greatest place ever, am being there since I was 12 year old, Am olmos 40 still my favorite place to stop by, Cervice is the # 1. In town no doubt about it
