Fresh seafood in Kentucky!??? - YES! While traveling through we were looking for a local place with great food, saw this and thought we would at least stop in and give it a try. We are so glad we did! I haven’t had seafood like this since we were at the Gulf last year. The place is very casual ‘come as you are’ with picnic tables inside a screened porch area as well as outside. Meals are served in to-go boxes. Inside you will find a few tables, spices for sale, and a counter of fresh fish, seafood, and even crawfish to put on ice and take home after your meal. We ordered the grilled shrimp and red snapper…they were both cooked and seasoned perfectly. The fish was flakey and the shrimp tender. We had to try their pineapple dumpling….it was gone in a matter of seconds - the only thing missing was a scoop of ice cream to go with it. The prices are very good as a comparable plate at any coastal town would have cost well over $20. Bathrooms were clean and parking was good. This is a seafood place with no frills - just fresh seafood cooked to order and/or take home fresh. The menu is expansive and I was pleasantly surprised at how many different items they had to offer. Again…super casual and laid back - a place you can jump in the car after a long day to enjoy some great food. If you are within an hour or so driving distance…I would definitely say it’s worth the drive.

Stopped in while on a short layover at the airport. Recommended by airport personal. ALWAYS trust the locals. Even though it’s a seafood place I had to have the frog legs. Been over 20 years since I had frog legs. Yum .

Best fried fish in the country. Perfectly seasoned cornmeal coating, soft flaky pieces. A must visit in Bardstown

Absolutely delicious. Fried Grouper was cooked perfect. The green beans seasoned just right. The mac’n cheese was very good but did have a tiny bit too much pepper.

Great market and restaurant!! The prices were reasonable and the food was hot and delicious. I had the 1/2 pound shrimp boil which came with a ear of corn and a red potato and a sausage, it was all very good with 10 large shrimp!! The Mrs. enjoyed the fried Cod fish basket with fries and hush puppies. We will definitely be back again.

The closest place I've been to in Kentucky that reminds me of sitting on the beach and deciding to have fresh shrimp out of the gulf and going to the market as the boats are coming in. They do an Amazing Job with cooking up whatever your heart contents from the Gulf , It's amazing having found this gem so close to my home here in Bardstown they definitely have a customer for life now done one heck of a job with our Fish and Shrimp was so fresh and cooked perfectly

Came here based on the reviews and had a lot to live up to AND DID SO!! We live closer to the coast, so our expectation was high. But man oh man was the food good here. Its not just the freshness of the seafood, which is difficult in itself being so far in from the ocean, but also how well it is prepared, the flavors, etc. And very good service as well. Thanks everyone for a great evening in Jan 2023.

My husband and I went to lunch here and it was amazing. Let me just say I do not like fish with the exception of salmon. No cod. No catfish. But my husband got the Fried cod and I almost swapped my crab cake for his cod. I said almost, chill. The atmosphere was great with an area to open up slider doors next to your table on nice days. The owner came out and checked on us himself. He told us he goes fishing in FL a few times a month and brings his catch back. This seafood place has it on lock! Way better than Mike Linnings in Louisville.

We picked the 1/2lb shrimp boil with sausage, corn and potatoe and a shrimp powboy with extra fries. We paid $30. It was worth it every penny. The seasoning, amount and freshness where great. We would come back anytime we are close to it.

I ordered the snapper for lunch, and it was excellent! I'm considering driving back up there to grab something else for dinner! I highly recommend this place to anybody in the area.

The food here is always fresh and it doesn't always have to be deep fried.

Our fish sandwich was great. The hush puppies were awesome. We will order more from this place.

Worth every dime you spend here. We will be back to see if they cook the food as great as they sell fresh seafood.

Great place to enjoy dinner. My wife and I order Shrimp, Alligator, and Scallops. The green beans, broccoli and cheese, fries, and hush puppies were really good. Then to finish out the supper was bread pudding, oh my this is worth just stopping by to get, they have the best sauce for their bread pudding. Plenty to eat and take home, stop by and visit with Ashley and the ladies at Simply Seafood.

A gem in the rough. It's amazing to find fresh seafood in Bardstown. We had the grouper sandwich which was cooked to perfection along with the potato salad which had just a tiny bit of heat along with the cucumber and tomatoes . Will deffinitely go back and try something else.

Best seafood market around. They always have what I’m looking for and if they don’t, they get it.

Had the Crawfish boil which was nicely spiced and the Gator Plates which had wonderful large peices and fried nicely golden. Highly Recommend!

The food was delicious. I got the fish basket that comes with two good size fish (I got Cod), two hush puppies, and fries. I also got an additional side order of Cole slaw. I am definitely going back to try other types of fish they have to see it everything as delicious as the Cod.
