ATL Authentic Jamaican Jerk

What a Gem! Located on Beecher Road near McLaren hospital the location is spot on to serve the community. The vibe inside was nice with rich island music and what looked and smelled to be authentic Jamaican cuisine. The staff was friendly and helpful with making my selection.

After being away from my NYC home for more than a decade I’ve been craving me some beef patty with cheese but always seemed to pass this convenient spot on Sunday when they are closed.

This was the day though when I saw they had the beef patty on the menu sans cheese but nonetheless sounded enticing. After a brief rundown of the menu an entree of oxtails with sweet potatoes and mac & cheese was being prepared.

My takeout order didn’t take long and I enjoyed the decor and music while I sipped on an orange sof drink. The owner greeted everyone kindly and shared a little background about the restaurant and its inception with me telling me they’ve only been in business a year.

Let's start with the nice location that's easy to get to, in and out of and easy to locate. When you walk in you are greeted with wonderful Jamaican music and colorful walls and atmosphere. We were then met by the owner of the place who was so friendly and bubbly that you felt like you just walked into a family members home for a holiday meal. The picture of what I had is on here of the Jerk Chicken White Meat dinner. The red beans and rice are nice and "dirty" in the most delicious way. The mac and cheese is nice and cheesy, creamy, and wonderful. I had the cabbage with mine and was happy to see that it also had peppers and onions I believe with it and was nice and tender. Now on to the stars of the show. Best chicken in the Flint area hands down. Moist, tender, seasoned well and the jerk sauce on the side is the perfect level of spice and heat. This place is a surefire win if you are hungry. The price may look high, but the 20$ for what feels like 5 lbs of food was well worth it. 10/10 will return often. Please give this place a shot!

Husband and I finally tried this place and were not disappointed! We got the whole mixed chicken, Mac & cheese, beans&rice and meat pie. Everything was super flavorful and we like all of it, but the dark meat and Mac was my favorite, while my husband loved the meat pie and rice and beans. The jerk sauce is incredible. Perfect amount of heat doesn’t overpower the flavors. Great service too! Owner and staff were super friendly, welcoming and made it a pleasant experience.

Wow, what an experience! The owner is such a sweetheart. She let me and my friend try things before buying! We are seriously picky eaters and loved everything 😭😭bought a bunch of food and left happy 🥰 I highly recommend !!

I went for the beef patties and also came home with a jerk chicken meal with sides of yams, mac and cheese and cabbage, along with wo beef patties. Everything was so good. The atmosphere is so welcoming and the owner is so genuine. She came out and greeted everyone. I highly recommend you try them out.

I walked in and was greeted by the owner, she was so kind. The restaurant looks very clean and authentic. My grandmother wanted to try their oxtail because of the advertisements. The owner so kindly brought my grandmother a sample of the oxtail. SHE LOVED IT! We ordered oxtail and it came with a side of rice and beans we also got the choice to pick two sides. All of it was delicious!! We most definitely will be back again. 😊

this place is definitely the highlight of my year, food was very fresh and good and the owner even let me sample my food before i got it to make sure it fits my taste. will definitely be going and back ❤

The owner Angela is super nice and enthusiastic. The food is made fresh and tastes amazing. The food portions are abundant. The restaurant has a clean, simple, quiet colorful Caribbean vibe which I like, being myself from the Caribbean. You can call ahead to have the food ready to eat in. Will visit again for sure.

This is the place is the best food around. If I had to recommend anything, it'd be the ox tail. The taste is out of this world. I can't believe more people aren't talking about this place. The staff are pretty helpful and are excellent cooks. I can't wait for my next visit to try their other fine delicacies.

My husband and I both got the jerk chicken dinner. Then decided to order the goat curry as well! Definitely stop in and give this place a try! The Mac n cheese and candied yams were also very good!

Can I just say first the customer service is Top Notch always smiles and greetings from the owner. 2nd the food- when you first walk in the door the spices hits your olfactory and draws in. But the amount of food on top of how flavorful it is amazing superb dining experience. My go to for authentic delicious food. I got the jersey chicken dinner and the curry goat. 🍛

BEST jerk I’ve had in my life. Came back to my hometown to visit and wanted a new food spot to try and my boy recommended this place. Came in ordered the 6 jerk wing dinner with cabbage and left with my dinner but forgot my cabbage. Halfway into eating my food I forgot that I never came back to get my cabbage. Came back hours later and explained to them how I forgot my cabbage and she gave me a new one free of charge and I ordered a jerk taco to go with it. Definitely a 5/5. HIGHLY recommended. Top 3 in Flint for SURE.

Came in for lunch and got a dark jerk lunch special. Chicken was VERY well seasoned and cooked tender, and Angela's homemade jerk sauce is like being back in Jamaica! Plaintains were sweet and cooked very well, and the red beans and rice rounded everything out perfectly. Excited to have a GREAT Jamaican restaurant in Flint and I'm excited to try more items!

I had never had Jamaican food before today, and always wanted to try it. ATL Jamaican jerk did not disappoint. The owner came out and introduced herself to me which was very thoughtful and even let me try sample other things that I did not order. I got the white meat chicken jerk lunch special and everything is so good, including the samples I tasted. Will definitely be back, I encourage everyone to eat here.

Some of the best Food I’ve had in a long time. (It’s not fast food) it’s a cuisine that takes a little time but well worth the wait. The jerk catfish was absolutely delicious.

The Jerk Chicken is fire 🔥 true Jerk Chicken it’s not baked like most places, she has that smoke. The restaurant is very clean and immaculate. The owner is a sweetheart aiming to bring that real Jamaican flare to Flint. Kamel

I accidentally placed an online order when they were closed and paid for it. I came in 3 days later and Angela filled my order and was such a gracious host. I felt like I was having dinner at a friends house. The food is awesome too.

The food was very flavorful, the facility was clean and well kept and the customer service was beyond excellent!! The owners stayed over just to ensure we had a pleasurable experience. I plan on supporting this business for a long time, thank you again for your genuine hospitality!!!
