Hands down the best lobster roll I've ever had. Bun was perfectly buttered and toasted/grilled. Lobster meat was beyond plentiful, perfectly (lightly) seasoned, and not full of other filler. The butter aioli was the perfect compromise between the two popular styles of roll. This one is served warm, which is always my preference. Espresso martini was also incredible. The staff, from the host to the servers, were all very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. When asked for a recommendation between two dishes, I was not steered towards the most expensive menu item. Appetizer plates AND silverware were all cleared and replaced for the mains, and food was not "auctioned off" but rather placed in front of the correct diner. The banter between the bartenders and patrons, from what we could hear, was very jovial and inviting. I will be back for an encore performance. A true 5 star experience!

We are huge fans of LayLine! We’ve loved the dinner menu since they opened, but now they’ve added breakfast on the weekends! Delicious! The Belgian waffle of my dreams! They’re also super accommodating and helpful for my guests food allergy which we always appreciate. 10/10 All around, we will keep coming back.

I am very happy we tried Layline despite some negative feedback I’ve heard. The food was excellent.
Oysters were scrumptious, appreciate the fresh horseradish and delicious mignonette. We were all raving about the Brussels sprouts, unique flavors that were spot on. Duck fat fries with truffle Mayo, yum.
For our entrees we chose the sea bass, scallops and mushroom tagliatelle, all excellent and cooked to perfection. The pineapple with the sea bass didn’t make sense, seemed more like an after thought on the plate but I would order again as the fish was cooked to perfection.
The one area that could use some attention would be the service. We asked for water multiple times and asked for our dishes to be cleared in between courses. Not a big deal, very minor. Service was pleasant and all
the dishes and drinks made it to our table in a timely manor.
I look forward to returning!

Awesome to have in town. Food was excellent. Service was good. Nice patio out front. Ordered the Sea bass and it was great. My wife had scallops and those were also very good. Our table tried all sides and appetizers (we are weird like that) and they were all amazing. We're will be back. Ps. Get the fries

We stopped there for dinner and sat outside on the patio because it was a nice day. We had the Johnny Cake for an appetizer. Then we had the Chilean Sea Bass and the Cedar Plank Salmon. For dessert we had the Rhubarb pie with homemade ice cream. Everything was just amazing! High quality food that was cooked perfect. The texture and flavors were outstanding! We will definitely be back again.

A quality double cheeseburger from Daniel del Prado’s latest - Layline in Excelsior. The cheese was American, pickles dill, and the sauce a secret.

We had a few other items that were all very good, especially the scallops & shrimp cocktail. Don’t miss the chanterelle mushroom side either, almost like a Thanksgiving stuffing.

The best place in Excelsior. The staff is still getting into the swing of things, but the atmosphere, menu, and decor is absolutely what downtown Excelsior needs. The duck fat fries are to die for. Burger and pasta were awesome.

Ate their new brunch which was fantastic. We ordered 1/3 of the menu to try everything and the food/cocktails were dynamite. If you are looking more than a basic breakfast, this is the spot.

Layline is an exceptional restaurant. The food options are “creations” by the chef. This is high quality food with outstanding flavor, texture, and options. The management and servers were friendly and efficient. Cocktails are also creative and tasty. Outstanding place!

We've been here several times for dinner and have consistently had an outstanding experience.

The patio with it's many umbrellas is a fabulous place for summertime outdoor drinks and dining. Dining inside is also a great experience. It's warm, inviting and although it's almost always very crowded it's quiet and intimate enough to still hold a conversation.

We've been able to walk-in with a wait at the bar. If able, I'd suggest reservations. The drink menu doesn't disappoint. The black negroni sour is one of our favorites.

The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional.

The cedar plank salmon and sea scallops are always cooked to perfection. The duck fat fries are decadent.

Went there for a special occasion and everything was wonderful! The manager Alex was on point, making sure our table was satisfied. We had Brittany as a server, she was knowledgeable and helped us decide on the perfect cocktails and entrees. We sat in the covered patio and enjoyed watching the busyness inside the restaurant as well as the goings on outside. Will definitely be back!

Fantastic service, very accommodating and courteous. The menu is well balanced with a little something for everyone. Very thoughtful food and beautiful plating.

We had a reservation for a table but ended up sitting at the bar - by choice. Our bartender Abby was fabulous and made our night. She was passionate about food and made fantastic suggestions. Ewe ended up sharing sides , apps and a salad that were a perfect compliment. We will be coming back and sitting at the bar and hoping that Abby is working!

This is one of the best restaurants we have ate at in a long time! The food and drinks were absolutely fabulous! It was hard to decide what to get because everything on the menu sounded delicious! My only complaint is when I made the online reservation I was asked if we were celebrating anything and added that it was our Wedding Anniversary. They didn’t acknowledge it at all when we were there. Not that big of deal but a little disappointing.

We will definitely be returning! Great addition to Excelsior!! Highly recommend!!

Exceptional staff, we had to add two more to our reservation on a busy Friday night, they accommodated without hesitation. Food was 5 stars we tried the Salmon, Scallops, Chicken Sandwich and Lobster roll, all were delicious.
Just what Excelsior needed , fine dining with a great atmosphere.

Very good! The johnnycake was a highlight. Burger and lobster roll were also delicious. Fabulous patio meal to close out summer. Kind and attentive service. Excited to come back!

The ambience was a tad loud but in a good, energetic way. The crowd was solid…respectful, conversing (sans phones) and enjoying themselves.

The forest floor martini alone is worth a visit. Best martini in the TC! Glass was frosty…yes!

Really cool new spot! We had the striped sea bass, sea scallops, carrots, oysters and chanterelles. Everything was great!
