Staff is always friendly, never an issue getting medication. A lot of the complaints on here are because of wait times and issues concerning communication. Just like most places, Im sure they are understaffed so I understand having to wait at times.

This pharmacy is a really good pharmacy.
Some tips for you guys, that don’t seem to understand.

Mondays are the busiest days, and people seem to complain a lot about it. Monday is the busiest day due to the doctors offices reopening and individuals wanting their refills. Mondays are the worst time to come to the pharmacy due to that reason. large crowds.

Lunch is 1 to 1:30. this is the only break the workers get. i understand it’s frustrating at times but when working 8-10 hour shifts that break is crucial. the workers have no control over that, it’s policy. so just keep that in mind.

as for rudeness, 99.9% of the time workers there are kind and not rude. usually not rude unless the customer is. working in customer service is brutal and they get cussed at daily.

i understand some of the frustrations individuals have , but at the same time you guys need to think they are just people trying to do their job the best they can.
if you were working customer service i think you would understand more openly.

again i get the frustration every once in awhile but just be open minded.
mondays = busiest due to doctors offices.
the workers get literally one break for lunch.
be kind.

also not to mention kroger cut overtime hours for them.and are short staffed.

I have always brought my prescriptions at Kroger Newport Pharmacy. Even when they are obviously short-staffed, the pharmacist Kristen B greets me and asks how I’m doing. Mallory helped me today at the register and she was so nice. The staffing situation in this current market is not the fault of the staff working there, so I always try to be empathetic to their situation and thankful that I always have a positive experience with them when I do need to pick up prescriptions. Working retail in the past gives you a different perspective on how to treat people willing to work in any retail or customer based setting.

I love the Newport Kroger store. As for the pharmacy, they could be better. One employee refused to wait on me because she thought I was rude after complaining about waiting in drive thru lane for 20 minutes without service. (The Tech was overwhelmed but no one seemed to want to help him) Kristan, one of the pharmacists is a gem. Very helpful, polite and has helped me on a number of occasions. She always has a smile and waves if we don't talk. It seems that one or two of their Techs are bringing the complaints. Also remember that Doctors offices cause a lot of their problems sending in prescriptions.

Honestly I'm crying my heart out. I've been without my insulin for 2 months now, running around in the same circles between my insurance, this pharmacy, and my doctor's office. Kristen, I believe her name is, and Adam have been the most helpful reliable pharmacists ive ever come into contact with. Today I am finally receiving the insulin I've needed for 2 months. I hope they see this review as I am totally thankful for all of their help they've provided for me. ❤ Thank you all

Sarah the pharmacy tech was very helpful with transferring a prescription from another store, and was able to get it filled MUCH faster than I thought they could.

TLDR = Called pharmacy and reached Vab. He was very friendly and professional. He was able to answer my complicated questions very well.

I take a recently released medication and the manufacture of it gave me a savings card. I've used the card multiple times and my RX cost has always been Zero. I went to pick up my prescription this time and was told it would be over $300. The rep said they even applied the savings card and it kept coming back with a balance. In the past, the rep had entered it in incorrectly, so I left without the medicine.

I called the savings card support and was told by a rep that there isn't a limit to how many times I can use the card and the amount that they cover hasn't changed. They suggested that either the Pharmacy is charging more for the medicine, or they are entering it in wrong.

I called into the pharmacy and spoke with Vab. He was kind enough to compare my recent prescription with the month prior's prescription. Vab was able to find that not only did the price of the med increase by $150, but the savings card had covered $543 last time and this time it was only covering $300. Vab reviewed how the savings card was applied last month to how it's being applied this month and the pharmacy is not doing anything different. He even ran it again himself to see if it would come back with a different amount. It did not. Seems like the savings card has changed.

I looked at the savings card website to see if I could find anything useful. The website said their support hours are 8a-9p M-F and 11a-6p on Saturday. Being 2pm on Saturday I called them and this time I navigated through their voice prompts and found something interesting. The card is valid until Dec 2019 and only has 24 total uses on it. Seems the first card rep was either lying or just dumb. I'm not sure which. I tried to get a live person to discuss this further and was asked to call back during normal business hours M-F. Seems the website is also lying.. or dumb.
