I know for a fact most of these bad reviews are straight lies.
Pharmacy’s are short staffed, the hours are cut, it is not their fault.
most of you people would kill if someone talked to you, like you’re talking to them.
call before showing up to see if your script is ready, it’s not hard.
stop verbally abusing individuals.
also i don’t think they care that you want to transfer your scripts . it’ll do them a favor as well as you.

Always great service & helpful professional staff. I’ve used them for over a year for monthly prescriptions! Thank you!

We’ve been a customer for nearly 2 decades. Customer service and getting prescriptions filled has consistently gone downhill over the course of the past year. Often times not having life providing (insulin) medications available for days and days and sending us to other locations to get our refills filled. Most recent we had 2 family members needing urgent prescriptions to be filled and Walgreens told us they couldn’t get a hold of our insurance to get price. When we contacted our insurance, they had no notices on file from Walgreens. So they called Walgreens 10 minutes before closing to give the approval and pricing. Staff on duty only allowed them to get through one prescription of three annd ended the call because it was closing time and told them to call back tomorrow! When we called back today, the pricing that was given yesterday wasn’t even recorded and we were told we needed the insurance company to start over or move our prescriptions somewhere else because Walgreens was having system issues. When we asked to have them moved we were talking to another associate who told us it doesn’t work that way. We had to escalate to a pharmacist who agreed to call Kroger right away, but half hour later Kroger still hadn’t heard from them. Walgreens has had 2 of 3 of these prescription since Thursday (and they are in stock) and one since Friday and is time sensitive for a child. We were loyal customers and once enjoyed the safety net of 24 hour support that Walgreens provided when for our medically fragile child. They’ve shifted models and priorities and customer service and this new way no longer meets our needs. They have officially lost a customer.

Went to Walgreens after my Dr. Appointment yesterday. I had to go here as Newport Drug Center was closed. Waited over a hour, then was told by a different pharmacist that they couldn't fill my other RX ( that I've had before not a narcotic) because they were waiting on Corporate! Not my insurance but Corporate to approve it!!!?!? I've never had a good experience here, and I'm so lost. I need my medicine.

My small mom and pop pharmacy went out of business, and my prescriptions got transferred to this three ring circus. I remember now why I stopped using walgreens. This place is awful. There used to be something called customer service, but it appears this walgreens doesn't do that anymore. Time to find another small mom and pop pharmacy where there is still such a thing as customer service.

I really don't know why I keep having my prescriptions filled here even when they are called in 2 days ago then I come to pick it up tell me you're not ready and it could be a couple hours when I'm on my way to work like a really. It's always at Newport always why why do I even have them go there. Going back to Save Discount for sure where there are actual pharmacist. And then I'm watching them fill things that people just got today and yesterday SMH. You guys suck.

Received a text Saturday Dec. 18 letting me know my son's 2 prescriptions were ready for pick up so drove from my job all the way to Newport to pick them up and there was a handwritten sign on the closed pharmacy window that said temporarily closed. It seems like anymore there is nothing but problems when it comes to getting a prescription filled. We are a family of 7, I have a full time job so like everyone else, I value what little free time I have. I plan on pulling all of our families scripts and going to our little local pharmacy near home. For such a large business, they definitely don't have it together.

Stopped by at 3 when medication was sent over at 10:30. Was told it would be a couple of hours and was told very rudely. Called every few hours and even the last hour they were open, still stating in a couple of hours. Guess my mother won’t be getting her medication once again. Great service and staff, thanks for caring. Time to go somewhere else, don’t even go here. Not worth your time and they won’t make it seem like it anyways.

I went to pick up my prescription. The tech told me no prescription was sent over. I check the Walgreens app and it says my prescription should be ready by 2:40pm. I checked it continuously because I’m sure the staff is busy. I called Walgreens at 4:57pm to find out the status of my prescription. The staff that answered was very rude hurrying me off the phone because they close at 5pm. He told me If I can pick up the prescription in 3 minutes they would have it ready. Which is impossible and he proceeded to tell me that I can pick it up on Sunday. One of the rudest staffs I have spoke with at this location.

Closed drive thru, extremely long line in store, awfully rude staff. Rude cashiers, pharmacy is the worst. Even when you treat them respect and gratitude, they will disrespect you.
Incompetent group of people at the pharmacy. They can’t keep their drive thru open consistently, neither they can properly run people’s insurance nor fill medication on time ever. Horrible communication skills and customer service. Pharmacy manager does not care about his staff’s behavior and their treatment towards customers. They do not give proper instructions for the drugs, nor educate their patients with correct information on new medications, such as potential harmful risks and interactions. I wonder if they even comply to government regulations. CDC are you watching? You should go check if this place is doing business based on federal guidelines.

It’s getting worse! Went today around noon to get antacid products. Shelves were either empty or very few Walgreens products were available. Makes sense since so much space is now devoted to Kroger items that no one seems to buy. Went to check out without the Walgreens brand I wanted and even though I was the only customer at checkout, the cashier ignored me and was in the photo area putting things away until I asked if there was another cash register available. She says she will be right with me and then explains that she’s doing many jobs today. That’s it. No apologies. This Newport location has really gone downhill. I don’t enjoy shopping there anymore.

Long lines all the time and now the pharmacy is randomly closed after 5. Place sucks. I show up after work, or sometimes leave early and they are still closed. Signs and website still say until 10PM so thats cute.

Also it's taken me over 24 hours to get a prescription filled for ANTIBIOTICS. Still not ready yet and they probably close in 15 minutes anyway. DONT GET YOUR MEDICINE HERE. Guess im going to be sick for another day courtesy of this dump.

Off to Kroger in the future I guess.

Evidently it is impossible to keep any of the local Walgreens pharmacies staffed, and they randomly close early. Couldn't transfer the prescription to another Walgreens pharmacy as the recorded message told me to do, because they were all closing early too.

This pharmacy is absolutely horrible. I suggest that no one uses this pharmacy. The people who work here are rude and not helpful at all. Takes forever for a prescription to be filled. Doesn't let you know when it's being filled. The pharmacist is ignorant and doesn't know how to do their job.

Walgreens are generally over priced on money st products, especially their prescriptions. I paid $27 for their discount prescription club, and prices were higher than those compared with Krogers. A Rx that cost me $4 at Krogers was $17 at Walgreens. I'm not sure how their prices are now that they have partnered with Krogers, but I will never know because I will never shop there again.

Pharmacy closes at 4 one day 8 the next haven’t been able to get a script 3 days in a row due to them not being able to hire workers (for months now) thanks Walgreens love you, maybe instead of focusing on being a Kroger you could do the main thing you’re known for,

EDIT: go back following day and they can’t even open on time sitting waiting 45 mins for someone to show up to get medicine, just shut this location down already it’s useless
