Harvey House Cafe

We had an awesome experience eating here for dinner. We spent the day hiking the rim trail and were famished by dinner time. We checked out the menus at every restaurant in Grand Canyon Village and everyone saw something here they wanted. The food did not disappoint. I had the roast beef which was delicious. The family had the vegetarian burrito which was as big as the plate and a wrap. We shared the apple cobbler for dessert. Everything was very good.

Shout out to our server Javier who was so much fun. He added extra smiles and laughs to our evening. His "Can-yon feel the love tonight" will be a forever memory from our trip. Thanks you!

Just had lunch here, and I was very impressed. My husband had the double bacon cheeseburger, which he said was pretty good. I had the pot roast, and it was amazing. It's better than any restaurant pot roast I've ever had. I was so happy with this choice. Our server, Rosa, was so kind and provided great service. Thank you!

We had a great experience here. We ate one dinner and one breakfast on our 3 day stay. We have been to the Grand Canyon 3 times but the bad reviews always kept us away. But we decided to give it a try and we had two really great experiences. The staff was fantastic and very attentive to our needs. The food was great, there was something for everyone so it worked out with two kids. We really love the cheese dip and the burgers Everyone was happy with their meals. We thought breakfast was extremely good! I really enjoyed the avocado toast. The kids really liked the pancakes and they wanted to go back on our last day but we didn’t have time to sit so we went somewhere else for grab and eat in the car food. Definitely will return when we come back.

After reading numerous reviews of the Harvey House Cafe on this site & others, I was a bit apprehensive about visiting the restaurant for dinner. We had originally planned on eating at the adjacent Arizona Steakhouse but changed our mind after walking through the Bright Angel Lodge & seeing the video board showing the Cafe's menu, which was similar to the Steakhouse. To our relief, everything about our experience was excellent. We were seated in less than 10 minutes after arriving (around 4:45 p.m.), even after requesting for a booth rather than two-top. Our server (Matt) was at our table within 60 seconds, brought water & utensils and gave us a couple of minutes to decide. We ordered Harvey House Salad & Tortilla Black Bean Soup as appetizers. The salad was huge (with good spring mix greens) and Matt thoughtfully separated the soup into separate bowls for each of us. Our main entrees of Green Chili Corn Tamale & Pan-Seared Salmon arrived quickly and both were very good. We got the Chocolate Molten Cake to-go, as we were too full to enjoy it after the meal. All in all an enjoyable experience and we'll be back in the future to try other menu options.

I was apprehensive about eating here with all the negative reviews, but since it was a short wait time at lunch and a good menu with decent prices, we tried it!
It was very good! Our server was super sweet, friendly and attentive. I had a southwestern chicken caesar salad, it was yummy! Cold, crisp and large size. Hubby had the bean soup, very good. Our teen had a burger and fries, bun was a little dry (also not a big fan of the metal tray it comes in, awkward to eat). We had a good experience, so maybe it is hit or miss at this one.

We were looking for dinner and there few choices in our area. Harvey House only had 3.3 stars overall, which we would ordinarily tell us to try somewhere else, but we were tired and decided we probably wouldn’t die if we ate there. Instead, we had a very good (probably a 4.5 if we had that option) experience. We were seated right away, our server was excellent, they had around 12 beers on tap and lots of others in bottles or cans, and a reasonable number of meal choices. We both ordered turkey wraps, which were good. I wanted to leave a positive review because I don’t want people to pass up a good dining option due to other low scores.

Great spot for a quick burger… Steps away from sensational views. Food is good enough for what it is and the service is great… every staff member that we spoke to had a great attitude and seemed really happy to be working there. Our waiter, Javier was fantastic. Thanks very much for a pleasant lunch.

I don’t know who Noll is or where he came from but he made this meal a miracle. I came to the canyon on a whim one weekend and I had to grab a bite to eat. Noll was kind to me, and the host was super quick and courteous. My stomach was full and my soul was satisfied.

Wonderful experience. After hiking the rim, we relaxed with friends in the lounge area. Our bartender/server was very pleasant and attentive. The food portions are generous, and we all found the flavor to be delicious.

I don't know why this only has 3.5 stars. My chicken caesar spinach salad was excellent. I don't know why, I wasn't expecting it to be that good. French fries hot and perfectly cooked too. Delicious! Our server Shawn was really friendly and attentive. Looking forward to coming for breakfast in the morning!

My boyfriend and I just stayed for one night, I had low expectations based on reviews but the breakfast was AMAZING! Annie had great service and was very prompt, perfect light breakfast options. Don’t listen to reviews, this is a hiker’s dream for a breakfast spot! 👍

Great food nestled inside the lodge, very filling. Wish they had arranged the burger correctly.
Only gave 4 stars as not many chicken and seafood options, mostly steaks and beef burgers.

Dinner was great, the pot roast was especially good, so was the red rock wings. Jason who served us made us feel very welcome and even gave us recommendations for places nearby to visit.

We had to wait for half an hour, but every bit was really worth it, so we dubbed at this place a couple more times, and it was all nice and tasty

The food is good, the prices are reasonable, and the service was great. The drinks were also good. This was a good decision for a quick dinner.

Delicious food, reasonable pricing and quick, friendly service. Perfect for fueling up before heading back on the trail.

Excellent food for Vegetarians. Tortilla soup and Burrito were made really well. Kids also had many options.

It was expensive, but it was good food and the service was good. It is this place, or a very low-end snack bar, still worth it to be able to eat while there.
