Starting off this place is great! I ordered a bunch of items off aliexpress and all of my packages had the wrong address.. the postal office helped me out and held my packages there rather than discarding of my items/ sending my items back.. words can’t describe my appreciation!!

Having just moved to Somerville from Oakland, Ca, I am pleasantly surprised at how well this small town post office interacts with local residents and the many many packages they receive and deliver for us.

It seems like they only have 2 or 3 regular employees, but they are attentive, kind, and personable. I feel for those who have had difficult and/or unsatisfactory experiences here, but my visits are always positive. When we moved into our new home, we didn’t realize we weren’t on a postal service route in our rural area, so our change of address request didn’t allow for any of our mail to be delivered to our house.

This worried us since we were expecting quite a bit of mail and packages upon our arrival. After a few days, we learned that we have to get a PO Box at our local post office; So, I went to the post office, got a PO Box, and then asked what might’ve happened to it all. I received an honest answer of “We have no idea,” or “All of it was likely returned to sender.”

However, after we had a close call of losing a high value package from over seas, we triggered a “search” upon the promise made by the office manager that he would reach out to the mail delivery drivers. After their diligent searching, a whole bunch of our months old mail was recovered by the post office! That was a happy day for us! Our valued package was found and delivered as well!

So, thank you Somerville USPS! You have made our mail service experience in a new small town pleasant and satisfying <3 :-)

Clean, efficient and the mail transport girl from Bryan is pretty, fast and a great driver. She deserves a raise

The staff is great, but the hours are not, and need to be updated on here. I was just informed they actually close at 3:30, not 4:30 as currently shown.

I went in today to get a mailbox with my neighbor that lives across the street. We were told we needed 4 mailboxes within the vicinity in order to have mail delivered to our addresses. So we took a drive up and down 7th Street writing down houses that already have mailboxes and discovered that no only were there areas with less that 4 in the vicinity but 2 houses in particular there were no other mailboxes to be seen.
My mailbox isn't out of convenience it is out of necessity due to the fact that my medicine will not deliver to a post office box but is shipped via the USPS.
I have had mail sent back that was to big for any mailbox or PO box. Medicine that is detrimental to my wellbeing. The postmaster honestly didn't care, he just made a decision that mail would not be delivered to a mailbox i set up without 3 other mailboxes. There are 4 mailboxes on 8th street "within my vicinity" so I just don't understand how it's such an inconvenience to jump over one street to deliver mail to 2 mailboxes that would be across the street from one another. And why do I have to have 4 in my vicinity when it's obvious that others on my same street do not?
Completely unsatisfied with the service or even understanding from the postmaster at this location. Getting ready to get pretty loud in my small town about it though.
Residents: Try to avoid having your mail delivered by the USPS. I suggest using UPS or FedEx instead.

This post office is useless. "Mail box is full" my a$$. Whoever demivers on 57 needs to be a little less lazy. Request expedited shipping on yoyr packages to insure they actually get delivered. The black chick at the post office should find a different line of work where she doesn't have to interact with the public.

I filled out a change of address form in October of last year. It’s now March. I don’t receive my important documents at all, they just get sent back to sender. I’m beyond agitated with the service and attitude. One local post man is a known alcoholic, and he takes all day to deliver to park road 57. I’ve received a couple of things in my box, but maybe 3 things since I changed my address. So they know I changed it, just being lazy, I’m not sure.I’m about to get in somebody’s face today.

I cringe every time I have a package go through this post office. They have lost a few of our packages over the past year, one of the most recent that had a $200 item in it. I’m constantly having to bring the wrong packages to my neighbor’s doors because they put them in the wrong box. They put the wrong mail in the wrong boxes way too often. I’ve never had so many issues with a post office and it’s carriers being so careless.

Terrible. We never get our packages delivered, and we go the next day to the post office to pick it up from there, and the first time it was thrown away, the second time which was today, it got sent back to sender. Awful service, the lady up front was rude and didn’t even want to help.
