Mom's Family Restaurant/Shiny Day Cafe

Outstanding food, amazing value and good service. I had the breakfast burrito, and my husband had the corned beef. The flavor was exceptional for this price. Under $20 for the both of us. This is the epitome of "a hole in the wall" cafe, and I am glad I found this place. Highly recommend.

Update. We returned and had the breakfast again (#7 and #9) and once again, the service and food were both great.

Went here for 1st time today with friends from church. Nice little cafe. Good food, good coffee & service was quick. Only complaint was french toast was little hard/rubbery. But all 3 of the others had tenderloin. BIG & MEATY they said & loved them. ♥. Definitely going back to try something different.

If you’re in the Beech Grove area and you want a great breakfast for under $10 this is your place food was delicious service was excellent and they even have at lunch menu as well stop and get you some!

There was nothing surprising or stand-out for our breakfast, but it was delicious and just the right experience we needed. It was good to support a small local business. It wasn't crowded, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portions.

The people and service, though, was especially very good. Our server checked in regularly, and was vibrant and chatty the right amounts.

I did not notice easy wheelchair access, though. There might be, but it was not clear.

Very pleasant dining experience. The service was superb and the food was outstanding. It is a wonderful family owned restaurant and it supports the Beech Grove community.

This place is tucked away in the main street drag. Went and dropped off my husky at the groomers( Beech grove pet grooming)then came here for some good coffee. You would think that's where it would stop but your wrong. The first page when you open the menu you see biscuits and gravy and for 2 biscuits and gravy for under $5. Your saying to yourself "how can this be?" At Mom's Family Restaurant your family so come and enjoy not only an nice atmosphere but friendly staff and great tasting food.

I'll be honest when you think of beach grove you don't think let's go eat, but I have 2 friends who live there and they have exposed me to different beach grove places.
After hanging out one night and staying over we decided to get brunch.
Moms was their suggestion, and it's located on Main Street. A cute mom and pop type set up, lots of personal little art and Knick Nacks.
A small breakfast bar in the front but then there are tables and chairs and booths that you can sit at.
Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and she worked the whole room.
I had orange juice to drink and then I got a western omelet! It was pretty solid! Good portions of veggie cheese egg, it came with the shredded home fries as well as 3 fluffy delicious pancakes. Awesome homey place and very cheap!! But cheap is a good thing, because you get a good amount of flavor packed food

This is an amazing little place!!!!!!!! Amazing people on staff and the prices were just perfect. We are from out of town and this was the perfect breakfast place before we began back home. The food was soooooo amazing! Very glad we found this place to enjoy!

First time here. We definitely will be going back. The food was great. Prices amazing. Friendly. Can't wait to try lunch and dinner.

I quick search for a breakfast spot brought me here. It is cozy spot, with it's simple and comfortable dining area. The staff is polite and attentive. The food is cooked as you order come out hot, fresh and timely. I got the classic pork chop which came with hash browns, two eggs over easy and pancakes. Coffee was delicious as well. It just feels like you belong here and they want you to enjoy the meal and environment.

My wife and I ate breakfast here New Year's day 2022. We got there around 10 am. We each had eggs, meat, has browns and pancakes. The food was good. It arrived hot. The service was good. The atmosphere is that of your typical local diner. The decor is nothing fancy, but the staff was friendly and accommodating. If you like small local diners, give this one a try. We will come back.
