Anderson's Shoe & Leather Goods

He has all colors of shoe polish! I couldn't find any anywhere else in town. He kindly gave me some advice on cleaning and applying the polish on my old sandals.

I brought in a leather backpack where the stitching was unraveling. Keith said he could fix it, and I said "When will it be done and I will return" (we live 1.5 hours away). He said, let me do it now, and 5 minutes later it was fixed. One year later the stitches have held. I was charged $5 which was more than fair. And there was no charge to look around the shop--there are not many like it anly longer. And this is meant as a sincere complement.

I went to Andersen's back in the late 90's because I was tired of buying cheap belts that fell apart in weeks. What started as a visit and some questions (to which he gladly answered) ended as a 20 year hobby into leatherworking. This review was two decades over due but is the least I could do. Many thanks!

The oldest store in La Grande and still family-owned! They repair boots, purses, saddles, sandals, and anything else that needs an industrial sewing machine and expert repairs.
