The Mermaid Dive Bar

My husband and I came here for a date night last night starving and the food did not disappoint. Our server, Anessa, was friendly, happy, and attentive to our needs.

First of all, the wings had a crunch and flavor that sent me to another dimension. How are they so juicy yet still so crispy on the outside? Honestly the best wings I’ve ever had in my life.

The chicken Pad Thai I got was so amazing I didn’t say one single word the whole time I was eating it.

My husband got the smashie burger and he said that this was the BEST food he has ever gotten at a bar. And that’s saying a lot because he’s been all over! Highly recommend getting the garlic parm fries on the side because wow!

On vacation came across this place to get out of the hotel and away from the casinos later at night. Nice bartender, great drink selections, pool tables, and we got wings to go. I am a VERY picky wing eater because they are my favorite food and I’m from southern Illinois. I rate these in my top 5.

This is a fun place you definitely need to check out.
I know it's probably said and the other reviews But the pad Thai is really damn good here.
Highly recommend in the swinging through at least for beer.

It is as claimed. Dive bar, hard core rap, dim lights, strong drinks, all the things dive, but not faux dive. Legit with great bartenders. We did not eat but it’s still on the to do list.

Unique place... night club vibes with some of the best food in town. Pad Thai is a must!! Great service and excellent bartenders.

Just visited tonight. The staff are super friendly. The atmosphere is awesome! The wall murals and decor are very well done. Most certainly will be coming back more often.

Friendly bartender. Fun atmosphere, if you like the dive bar scene. Spacious. The Pad Thai was DELICIOUS, as well as the fried rice. Actually went back a 2nd night for another order of pad Thai! Good beer bucket special.

Its a nice bar, not overly big but not small either. They have a pool table there to enjoy a game or two while having a good time with friends. The staff were very courteous and friendly and offered great drink recommendations.

Dive bar is in the name. Bar food is surprisingly good. Bar tenders are quick and efficient (Jen). Music, pool, TVs. For such a small place, they make it easy to hang out for a long time.

Awesome place! Restarting life and the staff there have all been nothing but courteous and friendly. I have met three of the bartenders Jen, Alexis, and Shay they’re all top notch bartenders. Although they get busy, they still took the time to check on me and make sure I was good. Much appreciated!

So, we found this little gem via google, after a lame experience at Fat Bottom BBQ. I wish we had not have eaten at FB, has we found this proper bar that has a kitchen. This kitchen serves legit Thai and other stuff.

The mixed drinks were very good, and the playlist was awesome, the staff were great too. They do different things all week and they are open till 0400 hours. IDK when the kitchen closes but I think its pretty late for a small town.

Proper little bar, the bartender told us they also have a mermaid chillin on duty some nights. We going back to check out the noodles, and a few other spots in town the next time we are off.

Ok, I was skeptical about getting Pad Thai at a bar… but this is the best Pad Thai in the area, better than Thai Jasmine, Kien Giang, and Kim Long. Great bartender, and I think I met the owner the other night she was pretty cool. Highly recommend.
