Absolutely delicious place for fresh, local ice cream. Creative flavors that change often and with the seasons. Would definitely recommend the Jumping Johnny. Service is quick and friendly. There is plenty of indoor seating available and some outdoor as well, with a relaxing and clean ambiance. Highly recommend.

I visited Melba Ice Creamery on a Friday night and the vibes were spectacular. There was a short line (to be expected for ice cream this good). It moved quickly. When it was our turn to order, they make you feel like your family. Very nice staff! I enjoyed the Moon Rocks, probably my favorite ice cream I’ve ever had. Plenty of seating throughout the establishment. The only thing they need is better parking!

Delicious icecream in a beautifully decorated icecream parlor. There is a small seating area inside and outside. We’ve been meaning to come here for a while and we came on a freezing cold day. We really loved their unique flavors and would come again. We tried the brown butter pecan (a new favorite of mine now), cardamom clementine sorbet and the chocolate chip doughboy.
I would buy their browned butter pecan by the pint!

Everything from the Gingered Peach has been excellent, so when they expanded into ice cream we knew we had to try it. Lots of interesting flavors like Bananas Foster and Guava Cheesecake... Really high quality ice cream. I would anticipate big lines as the weather warms up more.

Melba used to be Purple Cow prior to the Gingered Peach takeover. However, that doesn’t detract from the quality of the flavors they present. We ordered Moon Rocks (a play on cookies n cream), Red Velvet, Brown Buttered Pecan, and The Rockiest of Roads. All flavors are amazingly balanced with a nice fresh cream taste. The service was amazing with staff that was extremely patient as we tasted many different flavors. Seating and the vibe was modern and ample. The only downside is there may not be enough parking during peak hours. Definitely will be back.

Wonderful ice cream shop! Flavors are creative, well balanced, and delicious. Offerings include everything from scoops and soft serve to sundaes and creations with baked goods. We enjoyed our first scoops so much we went back for more! Nice seating area inside as well as outside to enjoy. Can't wait to go back!

Ice cream was excellent, service was great, and there was plenty of seating. Unique flavors. My partner got a brownie that he LOVED. Appreciate that they have water readily available. Will definitely return.

I stopped by Melba Ice Creamery for the first time today. I had been planning to visit since they opened, but today on this beautiful Sunday was the day.

I got the Moon Rocks (Cookies n Cream), and it was really good! I’ll definitely be back for more, I still need to try the rockiest of roads (Rocky Road)!

First there was a great bakery and now great ice cream, even more reason for me to drive over from Pennsylvania!

I knew this place would be good but didn’t know it would be this good! Wow! Unique flavors with cream cheese ice cream uniquely flavored. I had the blueberry cheesecake which was fantastic creamy with graham crackers real Jersey blueberry and cream cheese smoothness. My partner had the very rocky road which had a burst of everything each ingredient had to offer. If you never had real homemade/gourmet ice cream then get over there. The staff were super friendly and offered tastings. I enjoyed the new decor as well. Perhaps a photo with the story of how Melba came to be…? Thank goodness it did!

Unbelievable that the ice cream shop can be just as amazing as gingered peach? Like how can someone be that talented??? We got two flights (I’m so sorry our server there is no way I would remember all those flavors!) Everyone was so nice and just a great experience all around! Definitely our new fave ice cream shop!

What happens when the creative and culinary genius behind the Gingered Peach gets a chance to take over an ice cream shop? Lucky for you Melba is the answer. Incredible retro vibe with modern touches, this place looks amazing. But what about the ice cream? Well, it's as good as you'd expect. They are making this stuff from scratch...like starting with real organic cream and adding the same quality ingredients they use in the bakery. Luxurious chocolate, toasted walnuts, fresh peaches ...you know the vibes. The flight of ice cream is genius, and perfect to share... or eat by yourself if you're hungry but indecisive. Flavors rotate and range from classics (the BEST pistachio ice cream) to adventurous (mango sorbet with lime, and tajín) but they are all delicious. Get a scoop (or four), sit in the sun-filled seating area, and enjoy.

Really enjoyed this new ice cream spot! The flavors were all so interesting and it was hard to choose. They did have plenty of more basic options as well. The design of the inside is nice, and there’s lots of seating. The staff was very nice and helpful when we asked questions.

Simply the best! The ice cream is just to die for delicious, the seating is ample, and the place is spotless. BUT WAIT! There is more, the staff is just wonderful. They are so warm and patient with kids, they make sure to take the time and not rush them on picking out their ice cream, they engage and talk to them answering all of their questions (which as a parent is PRICELESS). This was our third trip and I am sure not the last.

Such a treat to have a neighborhood ice cream spot with delicious vegan options! I hope they expand the vegan menu and include cookies and cones soon. They have vegan cookies and brownies at The Gingered Peach, so it would be great to see them incorporated too.
The interior is cute and cozy with a few tables and benches.
Depending on when you go, the line can get long but it goes quickly. The staff was very friendly and offered us many samples.
Update:
Still hoping they expand their non-dairy options. The past two times we've visited they had only one sorbet that was vegan so we did not get anything. We would visit more often if they brought in more from the Gingered Peach.

This place is wonderful! When I got there the line was out the door and I wasn't thrilled but it moved very quickly. The owner could not be nicer as he was thanking everyone for their patience and was super personable. The workers were so happy to be handing out ice cream which was nice to see! The dark chocolate ice cream was delicious and even better, it's dairy free!! My daughter can't have dairy so she was thrilled that she got to actually eat ice cream!!!!! My mom got an egg cream and she said it was the real deal which is a huge compliment from her!! We will definitely be back!!!

Ice cream is great, options of flavors and pastries are super interesting and tasty, and the staff are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I was definitely sad when Purple Cow closed, but I absolutely love the ice cream and people at Melba.

My kids, wife, and my parents (age range 5-69) have been touring all of the ice cream shops in the area this summer, and rating them based on the same criteria chosen by the kids: flavor selection, fun menu options, nice inside, nice staff, ice cream taste. Melba was the only one to get a perfect score from everybody. Having lived in big cities for my entire adult life I’ve had access to some pretty dank hipster ice cream shops. Ice cream is a big deal to me. Melba in Lawrenceville, and Bi-Rite in San Francisco are the only two that I would say are true culinary experiences, and I would recommend to anybody who is visiting the area that they go out of their way to get there. Do yourself and your family the favor and get your butt to Melba ASAP!

The ice cream is delicious and homemade. The staff are friendly, and the decor is cute! I'm hoping they add a few more flavors (preferably some more involving chocolate) to the rotation, but it's a wonderful little place!

Enjoyed the entire experience. Ice cream was fantastic, the servers behind the counter were patient with giving us samples and there is a very nice seating area inside- cool when it was 93 degrees outside. Met the owner who was most gracious. Will be back ASAP. BTW- brown butter pecan is awesome.
