Ted's Café Escondido

My family took me here for my birthday dinner, it was great! Our server was really nice and definitely had patience! He put up with my requests for lots of cheese and brought me my own thing of tortillas haha! I love the tortillas here soooo much. The queso is my favorite! I got a taco salad for my entree, it was really good! I definitely had some leftovers. My family enjoyed their food too, we all went home happy and full!

The margarita was excellent, service in the bar was excellent. The cheese enchilada and chicken tamale was very good. The refried beans and rice was average for a Mexican restaurant. The chips were light and crispy, too. The salsa and cheese queso was average for a Mexican restaurant. The only disappointment was the free sopapilla. It was flat not fluffy, wasn't warm and did not taste good. I want to try the chili relleno next.

Nice Mexican restaurant with delicious food. Place was nice and clean. Waiter was attentive, helpful, and friendly. Food arrived at the table in short time piping hot and was delicious. Along with the food I ordered they provide complementary chips, salsa, flour tortillas, and sopapilla! I very much enjoyed eating here. 👍

My family and I came here last weekend and it was a good time. We had Jess as our server and Jess was great. she went above and beyond for us and it was crazy busy. Definitely would come back and ask for Jess!

We are from West Texas where good authentic Mexican food is plentiful. This place was amazing! From fresh homemade tortillas (we brought a dozen home to Texas!) To queso, fresh salsa served before you meal. A variety of plates. The Best Mexican Tacos Diablo was enough for 2. Chicken was flavorful and tender. The sopapilla you won't have room for, are a must! Cate our server made our visit enjoyable without interrupting our meal. So glad we decided to give it a try!

I met my son here for lunch and we enjoyed great food, drinks, and service. Can’t wait to go back.

Very pleased with our experience today! The food was great (and I’m a spoiled Texan), they offered a nice variety of free salsas, they offered free sopapillas, the atmosphere was lovely, and the service was truly 5 star. Our waiter was such a nice guy and he made my nephew feel so special for his birthday. We will be back when we visit!

The world has gotten hard dark and ugly these last few years, so many businesses shuttering, so many reasons to be gloomy, frustrated and disappointed!! I honestly have been saying customer service is a dying concept… but my faith has been restored!! CAMMY @700 N interstate dr norman YOU MY DEAR WERE MY LATE NIGHT DINNER HERO!! Not only did she answer the phone last minute on a Saturday night, she did so in such a professional and courteous manner, I knew I was last minute but I was door dashing and everything was closing before I had a chance to grab anything not fried or sweet, I asked if I could please place a taco salad ( they are the best!!!) order and she still remaining very positive and upbeat, responded can you get here in 3 minutes, my gps said 2!! She then began to put the order in very efficient as I was rushing in traffic and I could not remember everything I liked / that came on the order, she never missed a beat and as I thanked her and apologized again, she encouraged me that it was okay, if the door was locked she had my order in and had taken care of me! Upon arrival, the two gals at the front desk were so sweet no attitude or anything they truly made me feel so welcomed! And Cammy totally understood about wanting good food and getting off late, my order was ready to go and I was out the door in a matter of minutes. I am so sad that some of the kitchen staff gave her some push back for accepting my order, but other then that, this whole experience not just fulfilled my craving for fresh delish dinner, but the energy, vibe and just the service of this team made my whole night! I am truly better for having gone ahead placed the call!
Price is a bit more then I would like to pay but I mean, isn’t everything these days, and with service this good… WORTH IT AND ACTUALLY THEN SOME!!!

Ted's is awesome! We love the complimentary buttered tortillas and chips with queso. The service is always fast. And we really like tacos and tamales with shredded beef. Yum!

Had a great time at Ted’s! The staff was super friendly and welcoming. I was surprised by how many complimentary items they gave us! My husband and I both ordered ground beef chimichangas and they were okay. The rice and beans were good. My favorite was the sopapilla at the end 😍

Food is always fresh and hot with friendly and timely service. Breeden was our waiter tonight and did a super A+ job. If you come in, it's worth asking if he's working!

Outstanding Caterer! We received so many compliments for the amazing taco spread that Ted provided for our daughter's wedding reception. Exceptionally good food for such a large group and Robin provided top notch service! Highly recommend this establishment for catering your next large event.

Excellent food and service. Had tostada dinner With rice and beans. Wife had taco enchilada dinner. Both meals were delicious. Love the flour tortillas and relish before the meal. Server was very helpful and accommodating.

We had a great visit yesterday at Ted’s Norman location. The server was great, and they sang HBD to one of our party! We loved it!

Absolutely delicious! We had a great server and the food was perfect. Even though we waited an hour to be seated it was worth it.

Had a wonderful time, food came out quick and hot, and our waitress Hannah, I believe delivered it with enthusiasm and zeal. What a great time. Nostalgic simple Mexican food dining.

Wonderful food AND service!! Ate on a Sunday, place was very busy but service was outstanding! Chips and salsa were so great! Chicken fajitas, beef fajitas, enchiladas were ordered and we all loved what we got! We will be back!!
