Mamaveca Mexican and Peruvian Restaurant

You need to eat here... this is not your typical Mexican restaurant. It doesn't look like much when you drive up, but I believe it's the best Mexican food I've ever had (and I've been to Mexico a few times). I haven't tried the Peruvian food there yet, but I definitely will!!
We ate here yesterday, and the service was quick and friendly. Restaurant, tables, booths were clean. The food was out of this world. Next-level taste. I had Paola's special, which was basically fajita filling topped with cheese. The steak was tender, the veggies perfectly cooked and not smothered in oil. But whatever they marinated or cooked it in just kicked it up too my list of incredible meals. It looked simple, but tasted 5-Star. Also a scoop of Fresh guacamole!! My mouth is watering just thinking about all that, I definitely need to go back.
Try this. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

While everything was good, I’ll readily admit the Peruvian food was way better than the Mexican. It’s slightly more expensive but they give you way more that what they picture on the menu and it is 100% worth it. My wife got a $17 item and ate about a third of it, so the rest is going home for later 💯

Also, the rings on the left side of the picture are calimari, and it’s without question the best calimari I’ve ever had

This place is probably one of the best Mexican/Peruvian places I've ate in Oklahoma. The service was amazing and very attentive. I will gladly make the 30 mile drive there again.

The restaurant is just amazing, the ceviche, papahuancaina and chicken Saltado were just out of this world, not to mention the drink I had. Customer service was also great. Definetly worth the 1hour twenty five minutes drive..our waiter Nicholas was on point, definitely a place to check out if you are ever around the area...

I will say I don’t agree charging a set up fee bc my daughter and I share a single shrimp fajita order. Seems silly. We could both have a much cheaper entree and no set up fee.

The grilled fish is absolutely delicious, my husband likes the enchiladas, and I love the colorful decor and cheerful music. Our waitress is very nice, too.

Such an amazing experience! We were blown away by the service and the food was delicious. We were greeted promptly and every person is given their own queso and salsa bowl to go with the complimentary chips. The waiter suggested the ceviche as an appetizer and it did not disappoint! We are every bite. We all ordered different entrees and every one of them were delicious. At one point, we even saw someone come to clean a table, see a “to go” box left at the table, and he ran out to the parking lot to find the people who left it behind. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, friendly and kind. We had such a great experience and will definitely be back again. The restaurant had lots of families and is casual in decor and atmosphere.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Oklahoma because of their Peruvian menu. The quality of their Peruvian dishes beats every spot in OKC. We have never had a bad experience here, either with the food or service. The pescado a lo macho with mashed potatoes is one of our favorites along with the paella but the ceviche is top notch and the jalea mixta is great if your a fan of fried seafood. We like saltado but we like it as tallarin saltado (with noodles) so we haven’t tried the loma saltado.

Everything was absolutely amazing, especially the Creamed Corn! Thank You for an awesome lunch for my mom, sister, and myself. We all love the food and the Staff!

We really enjoyed this restaurant. Mrs. Flip Out ordered the fish tacos and enjoyed them. She’s not normally a fan of battered fish tacos, but they had good flavor and weren’t overcooked. The vegetables that came with it were a different take on “the usual” fish taco and had good flavor. I had the tostadas and they had great flavor. If you read our reviews, you know we always try the white queso bean dip if it’s on the menu. It was good, and we think you’ll enjoy this hidden gem in Norman.

the service is amazing among the top I have received. the Carne asada is among one of the best things I believe they make but there are so many great plates it's hard to chose. keep up the great work!

They offer a great selection of traditional Peruvian dishes along with the usual Tex-mex fare. I've never had to wait for a table. The staff is always friendly and welcoming.

I love it. The lady who served us was superb. She kept topping up our chips and salsa. We had Mexican and Peruvian food. They were all great. Thanks for the wonderful experience.

Always tasty and excellent service. The green chile queso is a must. Love anything with the fajita chicken and the Peruvian menu has items nowhere else in OKC metro has.

Best Mexican in Norman!! Huge menu, quick service and the food always tastes excellent. We go all the time and it’s always great!

Authentic Peruvian food!! I just visited Peru and this food was just like authentic stuff. They had Chicha Morada, Inca Cola and ceviche. Also have Peruvian corn just like the bars in Peru. If you're in the area you gotta try it.

The Mexican food is great too, my bf enjoyed it. They serve chips and salsa. I would definitely go back.

I went to this restaurant for the 1st time on Jan. 27th & loved it! The staff was very friendly & gave great service. Greeted right away by a very nice gentleman & the hospitality continued thru my time there! Will definitely be going back!

Delicious ceviche, tiradito, and Lomo Saltado. I ordered the tiradito, delicious and tender with peppers and ginger to warm the soul and clear the sinuses!! For entree I ordered sauteed whitefish with steamed veggies, came with fresh sliced avocado and tomato. Super light and delicious. Recommend this place for sure!

Wonderful food. Excellent service!! We've heard a lot about this place and decided to try it out. It did not disappoint!! I ordered the Tacos De La Casa and my husband ordered the Chicken Enchiladas. We are looking forward to the leftovers we are taking home!

Straight from the mouths of babes, my baby girl said it is by far the best and most authentic Mexican food she’s ever had!! And that is coming from a picky child so if that tell you anything about how amazing this place is !!! Like omg!!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐++++++
