I've been a loyal customer of Howl To The Chief for over six years, ever since my dog was a puppy. I can't say enough good things about this place. The customer service is always friendly and genuinely caring about the well-being of your pets. Their products are great quality, from food to toys to grooming supplies. And their baked goods are the best! My pup goes crazy for them. The best part of HTTC is their fantastic rewards program on pet food. It's a great way to save on future purchases and shows that they value their customers' loyalty. The staff are kind and helpful. I do wish they know more about some of the products they carry, but this shop has exactly what I need. Quality dog food, quality treats. Every dog that has been in there, when I and my little dog have been, has been incredibly well behaved. I enjoy going here and Monsignor does as well!

I started going to Howl to the Chief when I started working in Navy Yard and I love being able to support a small local business with friendly staff and a great selection of dog foods for my old lady dog.
They have a lot of cat things as well! Lots of really cute toys and other cat/dog sundries as well.
There new store space is so spacious and really speaks to my much larger personal bubble I have these days

I used to come here for my hound and the staff was always kind and had a good inventory of healthy food foods. Ended up adopting another dog through this store's partnership with Rural Dog Rescue and now have another pup to make my life wonderful. The owner helped set up pick up of the pup and have always enjoyed stopping in for food and grooming products.

Gil did such a lovely job on my dog's groom! We have been to so many groomers and our last few experienced in DC have not been great. I'm so glad we came here.

I showed Gil a photo of how I wanted my dog groomed and he told me he would be ready in a few hours. Gil was true to his word and my dog was ready very quickly! Truman looks so wonderful and seemed happy when I picked him up. The prices were very fair and comparable to other groomers. Gil did a great job.

I live to come here and spoil my pups! They have a great selection - especially love the treats, primal goat milk, and Suzies CBD! This is the place to go to get a step up on your dogs nutrition!

We're getting a dog in the spring and we're just a little too excited, so we had to pop into Howl to the Chief. They were beyond friendly and welcoming, and we loved chatting with them about our incoming puppy. We can't wait to be a regular customer once our puppy arrives!

Locally owned pet store heavily involved with local rescues. We love a lot of the treats and toys you can't get from the chains. We adopted our dog Bradley through Rural Dog Rescue which is affiliated with the store as well.

HTTC carries big bags of the brand of food that I feed my cats and employs a friendly, knowledgeable staff. It is my favorite local pet shop. Also, it has a ton of dog items, if you need that sort of thing....

We've been going here for several years for cat supplies. As a small business owner Kim, is very involved in making sure her customers have what they need. She has helped on numerous occasions with recommendations for our kitty with sensitive digestive issues to include samples to try. She also added Dr Elsey's to her cat litter inventory when we asked.

The shop has everything I need from training to pampering. The staff is very knowledgeable about a wide range of dog items. If they don't know they will help you find out. The selfbath downstairs is nice and private!

This is where I always bring my dog for her regular grooming session. They really do a great job. You can tell by her mood when she comes back home that she loves the place. My first choice when it comes to grooming.

All sorts of goodies for your animal pals abound. The staff is great and very helpful. Love the name, as it's perfect for D.C. Not too far from the Eastern Market metro stop, so if you have a pet, try it out!

The recently moved to another location also in barracks row. they have a ton of brands including the more popular ones like taste of the wild but also more upscale, fancier one like orjien. Very friendly staff too

Excellent pet store. They don't stock crappy mass market pet food, only high quality wholesome food. Fair prices for the area. Good helpful staff.

This a great little dog (and cat!) store in Capitol Hill. They have a variety of fun toys and treats, and I like how close they are to home.
