Budget Truck Rental

The place is a small building and the parking...i don't want to say lot because that would imply it is big...space is quite small especially when there are a bunch of trucks there. Doug was a great guy. We were going on an 1300 mile round trip haul in a 26 foot truck. Well I had never driven a truck that big before. We reserved it for earlier in the day (5pm). Doug called us and said it wouldn't be there until 10pm and we could pick it up then or tomorrow. The reason it was late is he wanted to give us the new truck being delivered because of our long distance. He then stayed there until 10:30pm and helped me figure out where all the controls were. He then threw in some supplies for our move. I checked the mileage and it was like 53 miles. A brand new truck. When we returned it he asked how we did and seemed genuinely interested in how the move went. It was a little stressful getting the truck late (10 pm vs 5pm) but the new truck, constant communication and great attitude of Doug made it a very pleasant experience.

Doug is great! We rent out several trucks at a time for our contract, and he has always went above and beyond. Thank you Doug! We appreciate you!

So like always budget is always a little meh to deal with (corporate you know how it is) but Doug at this location is just such a good guy. My husband and I drove 4 hours to come get a truck of the size we needed from his location and he was more than accommodating! He made sure he was there and the truck was ready for us when we got there! Part of us wishes we were moving so far bc he’s awesome! (You’ll probably get a Christmas card from us when we’re all moved in Doug!) I wish we could have stayed longer and talked to him he’s been open for 40 years and had some cool stories! Would give him a 10/10! The lot is small and hard to notice at first but if you’re expecting it to be smaller lot you’ll spot it right away!

Moving - for me any way, is one of the most stressful activities I’ve done in my life. I recently moved locally , from Montgomery County VA To Pulaski County VA. - on the surface, that doesn’t sound like a terrible move- it’s only 25-30 mins distance between old house/new house. But- I had problems with movers. I’m on a budget, and can’t afford a professional moving company- so I rely on people that advertise on Letgo, Marketplace and - tho I really try to avoid it these days due to the massive amount of
Scams- as a VERY last resort: craigslist. There are cost benefits to doing this- but there are SERIOUS potential poor performance, performance, potential Unreliable, potential theft, potential illegal drug use - and ESPECIALLY on CL- virtually NO way to hold the folks you hired accountable. Each of catastrophic “potentials” i listed above has happened - between TWO sets of letgo.com handyman/movers ad folks. It only took 2 teams of 3 to CHECK EVERY ONE OF THOSE BOXES. So the short move - just 1 county over- I thought I had actually overbooked by reserving the budget truck for 4 days- but thx to awful ppl on letgo- actually today is going to be DAY 15. and at this point I’m freaking stuck doing the best I can all by myself. In the future I am just going to have to budget properly so I could do that. The one thing that I must say has made my nightmare moving experience far less of a nightmare on far easier and stress-free is the fact that I have rented May 26 foot moving truck from budget truck rental of Blacksburg located in Christiansburg, VA, specifically from the owner of the dealership who’s name is Doug. Doug has been a godsend. He has been the most amazing person with the entire company and to be honest I have worked over the years with U-Haul Penske and many times Budget in the past in different cities however I’ve never Worked with such a dedicated, compassionate, professional, accommodating, truly a person who has gone above and beyond the call of duty and, I do not use these two words together to describe many people it takes eight really truly exemplary human being, but I would definitely call Doug a consummate professional within his field. Anyone in the new River Valley area of Virginia, which is and the Blacksburg, Christiansburg and Radford area, primarily Montgomery county and also police, I hope Doug has a chance to read this so you understand how much I appreciate all of his assistance through this difficult move. Very friendly. We dropped a truck off there after moving from Minnesota, but the employee working was super friendly

I'm unsure if I just got a different guy, but I had a great experience with this location. It looks a little rough outside, but the guy who gave me the truck was courteous, nice, and helpful.

Very nice man that rented me the truck. The truck on the other hand is a pile. It's all over the road. Lord please help me make this trip from Virginia to Georgia!!
