I was so excited to check this new location out after shopping at Maruichi Cafe so many times before. This place is definitely more spacious than Maruichi Cafe but somehow I feel that it has fewer selections in terms of groceries. Maybe it’s just me. Somehow I couldn’t find what I normally got from Maruichi Cafe such as lotus roots. But overall it still has a wide variety of Japanese/Asian snacks. They have a different section with a lot of Japanese tea pots and porcelains which are very nice. Definitely recommend a visit.

My favorite shop in Stamford!!! Their Curry bread, sandwiches and onigiri are always fantastic. For a small shop, their selection is amazing, they always have what I am looking for, and my husband and I have tried some new stuff by just browsing their selection and picking out whatever looks nice. Their prices are pretty decent as well!!

I love this place! It really brings me back to the convenience stores in Japan. They have the most Japanese grocery staples that I've ever seen in CT for great prices, along with other Japanese products you can't find anywhere else. They also have fresh produce like vegetables, Asian fruits (I saw Korean pear and persimmons), and even fresh sashimi (ready to cut and serve, I had some and it was delicious!). They also have Japanese kitchen utensils, and matcha whisks.
There are bento boxes, ready to heat and eat ramen, onigiri, sushi, and even Japanese style egg sandwiches, potato salad sandwiches, fruit sando, and other yummy looking sandwiches. There is even a seating area with a microwave to heat up your ramen/bento box.
On top of all of this, Anna's donuts serves unique donuts and matcha drinks. I had their coffee which apparently the beans are from Osaka, and it was delicious! If you can't tell, I am absolutely amazed with this place.

Amazing little market 🤩 Coffee and donuts in the morning, take out options for lunch or dinner, and fresh fish and produce for making your own at home. It's our go-to grocery stop living downtown.
Using the back area with the fireplace for omakase could take this place and Stamford to a whole new level in my book! 🤞

A lovely Japanese market here in downtown Stamford. There’s a great selection of products you wouldn’t be able to find on your own, so it’s a lot of fun to browse. I purchased a drink, rice cake, and some soy sauce - all of which was excellent.

Cute market that offers a neat selection of small Japanese meals to take out, with a neat and clean area to eat them in. Good variety of imported Japanese groceries one can expect from a bigger Asian supermarket.

The only grocery store in downtown Stamford other than Target. Limited selection of fresh produce. Obviously this is a Japanese market with mostly Japanese products, though there are some other Asian products.

We love going here for Japanese foods and snacks we can't get easily elsewhere. They have Calbee brand potato chips (honey butter flavor is amazing), candies like Hi-Chew, mochi, and frozen desserts like waffle ice cream sandwiches.

This location also does a Japanese style of "healthy" doughnut, fresh baked.

Parking is street parking and you almost definitely won't find parking in front of the shop.

FYI this is a smaller outlet of Maruichi, which has a larger grocery store in West Stamford.

I am absolutely blown away that this exists in the downtown now. The cuts of fish on their sushi are Very generous, and I haven't gotten sick from any either. It goes on discount towards the last hour or so to make sure as much is eaten as possible, something I only thought I'd be able to take advantage of in a city like New York. The quality and selection of the other groceries is fantastic in general. We've gotten to try so many new things, and the prices are in-line with the store outside of downtown too (so no "downtown tax"!). A complete and total value-add to the downtown, especially to people who live in the walking-distance area. I never want this place to close!

Incredible find, this little shop has everything. I lived in Japan and it was nice seeing some familiar selections and some stuff I've never had. They have pre-made food, groceries, and dishware. I highly recommend this place.

Maruichi is quite a unique store as are other ethnic stores in the area. They have amazing candies and products from Japan. Want to make sushi, ramen, dumplings or onigiri? This place has it all! Their tableware selection is high quality stuff. If you have been to Japan, you will fell like you’ve been transported to a kombini. Definitely check them out.

I don't like the site that no one speaks anglish unfortunately so is hard to get help buying items I have a Google a lot of things is know what they were due to my daughter has an allergy but other than that I love the cold bar and they always have samples in the front I do recommend visiting if you don't mind googling the items you might want to purchase

This place is awesome! An Asian market (mostly Japanese market it seemed) with all sorts of Asian delicacies to explore. From rice snacks to Sushi, to asian house wares and utensils. Drinks of all sorts, we absolutely loved this place.
