I've been coming here for many year's when I'm in the mood for some fried fish or clams especially during Lent. The portions are great and the service is great as well. You do get your money's worth, and love contributing to a small family restaurant. Also appreciate the inside as it is no frills and shows authenticity.

I’ve been going here for decades! I don’t know how they stay so consistent and I still dream about their fish! It brings back so many memories each time.

Stamford's version of traditional English fish & chips shop. Not bad, but everything is in fact, deep fried. The guys there are super nice. There seems to always be locals eating there so that is a pretty good endorsement that people love it.

Love this place and I don’t really care for fish! Been eating here since I was a little girl! Was a treat then and still a treat now 🥰

Food is great; I’ve been here twice now. I don’t love that there isn’t any AC, and the place does have an odd sense of decor, but the fish and chips are crispy and delicious. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Best fish and chips i have had in a long time. Battered cod; in my book the best fish and chips raw material. Big portion and low price. And the owners are a pleasure to deal with. Best F&C around--eat it there so it burns your mouth!

been ovr 20 years since my last visit. But during my time in Stamford (20+ years) this placw was solid. Dam good batter on the fish. Hard to find in SW florida.

This is my mom's favorite Fish & Chips spot.
I'm not much of fish fan but I must admit their fish is pretty good, I even order it a few times myself. It is always clean and fresh! Recently they changed their fries style from skinny shoe string to a thicker cut, I like it.

But my favorite thing to order here is the chicken tenders. They are literally PERFECT. I have never had a chicken finger from here that was bad. All beautiful white meat, not chewy, thinly cut with the perfect amount of breading, fried to perfection. No seriously. They are perfect.

Their honey mustard is my favorite, bbq sauce is good too!

My only suggestion to any reader planning to go here is once you get home open the "hot bag" fast because the steam from the food will soggy/soften up the crunchy fried fish.

The owners are very kind people too.

I come here more in the summer than the winter, but the food is consistent, delicious, and not greasy. Atmosphere is laid back, prices are quite reasonable. I dig the fact that they cook most, if not all, of the meal in front instead of in back.

I keep returning for a reason, after all.

Yesterday was my first experience eating fish and chips outside of London. I was very impressed with the fish, it’s freshness, and the tasty fries. Good job Royal Guard!

Great food you can't beat their fish and chips,The place is legendary I lived in Stanford all my life and it's been here since I was knee high and it doesn't disappoint, service is friendly and courteous as always would highly recommend it if you love fish and chips

Walked in with my family on a Sunday afternoon. Friendly and courteous staff. Food was great. Good environment for the family. Menu has kid friendly dishes.

A perfect place to go to for fish and chips. Their food are savory delicious. I have had other fish and chips but nothing like the ROYAL GUARD FISH AND CHIPS.

Seal of approval from my grandmother who was born and raised in Dublin if that tells you anything. The fish and chips is quite good, and there is a unique selection of soda.
