I have seen all the awful reviews on this service, but I have to say my experience has not reflected what's written. I just started service with GFL on my new house. The first week they didn't take my trash or deliver my recycling bin. I called to report it and the woman I spoke with on the phone was very friendly. She apologized and within two hours someone came to get my trash and dropped off my recycling bin. I haven't had an issue since. No complaints here!

I called today to find out about an error I perceived with our bill and was lucky enough to talk to Angel on the phone. She calmly explained why our neighborhood was having pick up issues, the reason behind the hike in recycling rates and was a generally wonderful person. I guarantee if those of you who were immediately downrating the business took the time to figure out the causes of your complaints, your perspective on the company would differ a bit. Change is good but it isn’t without its problems. Allow them some time to iron out the wrinkles and I think it will be an exemplary partnership.

I loaded up my trash can a little too much and noticed my trash wasn’t taken. I called my local office and the lady was very professional and nice and they came right away and picked up my trash. I really appreciate their super fast response and I will definitely not over load it in the future. Thank you guys very much.

Every time I have ever had to call waste industries, things have easily been settled. The women have always been great and never spoken down on me. The route supervisor has come back even when it was my fault that the bin wasn't out. A lot of these negative reviews could be avoided if customers were polite instead of being rude.
Thanks for all the hard work!

Customer Service needs training in listening to customers to find out an issue and to accurately resolve any discrepancies. Management is polite, courteous, and understanding. They identified the issue and assisted with the solution. No issues with operations. Trucks are on-schedule and services and provided at a fair price.

Recently started service 2 weeks ago. Still do not have my trash can. Was told I could place trash on driveway, it would be on the route list and picked up. Today March 9 th I place bags as requested. Truck stopped but did not pick bags up. The driver after leaving and completing more pick ups backed up to my residence. He said he called office and in fact I was on list, not published on his copy. . He then picked up trash. Long story short. The driver’s name was Daniel. He went beyond his first instinct to not pick up but called to verify. My bags were picked up and I am very pleased with his initiative. Now if I can only get my container.

Really liked their service, however needed recycling to come more than every other week.

But... they make you pay quarterly, and when we moved in the end of April, we were not able to be refunded for April and June. (and their service isn't cheap)

Not a really good system for a military area where people move all the time... When I called, they said "you should have read your invoice and called to let us know sooner."

I did call to let me know sooner, but they couldn't tell me how much JUST the month of April cost... so i had to pay the whole thing.

Beware Military Families. Good service, but slimy billing policies.

Gotta say, I wouldn’t trust these people when it comes to driving. Texting and driving these very large vehicles…If they can’t put their phones down long enough to do a job, especially one that requires them to drive, maybe they shouldn’t be working in that field. Maybe that is what took them so long this evening to finally come by and get our recycling because whatever was going on in this guy’s phone was much more important that paying attention to what he was doing.
