This is a big shout out to Lizzy at the Dayton post office. I phoned with questions regarding my deceased mother's mail service. Lizzy was so kind and helpful. She even called me back with additional information. I have never had such a positive experience at the post office. Great job Lizzy and thank you!

I had a misplaced package, so I filled out the online form through USPS. I received a call today from Lizzie that the Postmaster was going to personally investigate the matter, he found my package, and placed it in my mailbox. I am very grateful and impressed with what they did for me.

Love the Team here! I live in Dayton, a rural location. I always get a smile, they remember my name and finances name. We love that there is never a line and the office staff is down to earth and helpful when you need something! I have never had a problem with theft of packages or any other complications. THANK YOU TEAM DAYTON BRANCH USPS

The Dayton Post Office is simply the BEST! The employees are so friendly and quick to do their job. Another perk of small town PO's is that you rarely ever have to wait in line!

The post office employees are super friendly (which I am grateful for). However, I have to say that the mail is frequently delivered to the wrong addresses... There has been very important mail with our private information in it that has never been received from months ago. We have not even been here a year and we have mentioned it to the post office many times. The response is that there is always someone new or a sub in the back doing the mail. We have never had this problem with the postal services in any other town. We signed up for the online Informed Delivery emails because of this problem. I do hope this will all be fixed soon.

UPDATE: We have now had a package go missing that had been expected for over a week. I watched the mail carrier stop by the mailboxes, yet according to USPS Informed Delivery, the package should have been in the box, and it was not. My husband contacted the office and a man named Ty was the one helping. He went out of his way after work to track down the package and found it at another box down the street. I am super grateful for him going out of his way to fix the mistake that was made!!!!

Some of the worst post office employees I’ve ever encountered in the whole United States.

I’m here to update my review. They got rid of the person causing problems at the post office and their new post master is excellent person to deal with.

First off the 2 people behind the counter were very helpful and got me the package after I drove there to get it.

The actual delivery person who didn’t even put the package in his truck but still scanned it “out for delivery” and then left a “sorry we missed you” sticker not on my door so I would know why my package still wasn’t delivered but inside my mailbox telling me it wouldn’t fit in my mail box shouldn’t have a job. I shouldn’t have to do his job for him when I’m paying for a delivery.

The staff is friendly and helpful when you go in. The problem is that they are irregular on their deliveries, so you can't know for sure when your mail is coming. They also frequently give my mail to neighbors and I often get theirs, which can be awkward. This was once a great little post office and I'm not sure if they're lacking employees or tools to be more dependable, but it would be nice to have it return to it's former glory.

You pay $60 plus every 6 months, plus taxes to have this P.O. Box and they won’t even put your packages in a locker for 2 days. Such b.s. I’m sure if I paid $100 every 6 months they would be happy. Also, we don’t have them deliver anything to our house, so they don’t even have to do that!

I never use the Dayton office, I live in lafayette... Dayton office delivers our mail. Which is usually misdelivered, I normally get one or two wrong pieces of mail a week. And I'm sure I miss out on alot of my mail. There should be a solution.... they delivery guy looks like such a scrub, other than the sign on the side of his run down car there is no way of telling if he was properly trained and screened for the job. I have complained for about 4 years to Dayton and Lafayette post offices. They have no concern for people because there mail is never lost. This is an on going issue and shows the USPS is is unable to hire proper delivery drivers. And shows there lack of care with smaller branches.

The Dayton, Oregon post office is horrible. They left a package down by my mailbox in a rural area in which we have reported packages have already been stolen. Why would you leave a package out in the open for everyone to see! What happened to leaving the card in the mailbox letting you know you have a package to pick up. This is not the first problem we have had with this post office and I'm sure not the last.

I have lived in dayton at the same address for 6 years. I had never had an issue with my mailbox until about 2 months ago. The mail carrier started to refuse to deliver my mail.. including packages that wouldn't even fit in my box.. that should have been delivered to my door. They claimed the problem was the height of my mailbox.. which was never a problem before. A couple days after that my mailbox was completely torn from the post. I got a brand new mailbox that met USPS height guidlines. Now they are saying it needs to be 6" taller. W.T.F
