Got a reference here from a friend. Sooooo glad I took the advice.
I had a broken tailpipe behind my resonator. I priced shopped and could only find places that would replace parts. The prices ranged from $650 (for a it may work) to over $2000 (for a complete replacement). I then went to look to just fix it myself and it would be $625 for parts.
I went to Pete's and they were able to find a solution for $183. I dropped off my 1999 Camera; yes 1999, and even though they were extremely busy and understaffed, they got me in and out in a few hours.
Pete is an extremely knowledgeable and friendly guy as is his staff. I don't know how to thank him enough or say enough amazing things about his business.
I almost hate to write this review because he is already super busy, but his business is worth writing about and highly recommending.

Pete is a life saver!!! He gets vehicles in very quickly and not only that he’s able to diagnose and fix the issues just as fast. They go through the vehicles meticulously to make sure nothing is wrong. Have amazing welding work and always have the best prices on brake, suspension, or tire issues!

Pete's repaired a damaged exhaust pipe of my girlfriends 1998 Beetle, with overwhelmingly satisfactory results. They received, inspected, accurately quoted, worked on and invoiced the car in one day! Super happy with the both the speed as well as the professionalism and kindness displayed by both Peter and his staff.

Honest, good work! Many places won't repair exhaust, and for some cars the part alone can cost over $2000 before labor, because it is sold as an assembly with cats, resonators, etc. There are no NY legal aftermarket options either for many cars. Lexus dealer wanted $2500 with labor and the wholesale price was $1400 for the part. These parts will also likely corrode before their time in the car eating salt here, so you may have to replace again. Pete can repair your exhaust quickly for a very fair price, there is no other shop to consider. Highly recommended!

Pete's is the best auto repair shop I've ever been to I had my flex pipe rot off and I called Pete's they told me to drop it off and they would look at it I wasn't expecting them to be done with it that day but they were and it was a lot cheaper than I thought. Pete's has the best customer service I've had the pleasure of having they are the best will definitely be returning for any automotive maintenance. Thank you will recommend to my friends and family!

This shop is run by honest people that get the job done quickly for a decent price. They aren't trying to rip folks off. Very impressed by the level of professional business practices at Pete's auto. If you have an older vehicle, this is the place to take it in to be worked on.

I knew what was causing the very loud sound coming from the exhaust system in my 2005 Honda Civic. I estimated Pete's could fix the problem for $100 to $150 (a cut, a small piece of pipe, and 2 welds). I was in Westchester County and 2 auto repair shops there told me I needed to replace most of the exhaust system, parts and labor costing about $2,000. The next day, I left at 4:30 a.m. in order to arrive at Pete's before they opened at 8:00 a.m. (wearing earphones and hoping not to get pulled over for the loud noise on the drive up to Schenectady). While I was waiting for the repair at Pete's, I took a nap and read the current day's Albany Times Union and the current day's New York Times on the window ledge (very impressive) and watched a little T.V. 2 1/2 hours later I paid $116 (plus a $10 tip for the mechanic/welder) and I was on my way by 10:30 a.m. I have been a loyal Pete's customer and recommending Pete's to family and friends for over 35 years. I love the many multi-generational small family owned businesses in Schenectady.

My Honda Pilot needed a new resonator for months, but it’s been on back order with no known back in stock date. I was also told I’d have to replace the whole exhaust system (it’s 1 pc, not 3 like on some vehicles), almost $1200 for parts and labor. I couldn’t take the noise anymore. My brother in-law spoke very highly of Pete. I called Pete’s Auto and they said I could drop it off and they’d see what they could do. I dropped off a roaring beast and picked up a quiet, peaceful kitten. They cut out the bad and welded in a good replacement for under $200!! I wish I called months ago. Thanks Pete’s Auto!!

Very happy with the results of the work done! The shop is busy but that’s to be expected with a good business. I will definitely be recommending them any chance I get!

My long time mechanic told me I needed all new piping, a new catalytic converter, and two mufflers to the tune of $4k. Pete had a look and said a piece of pipe merely needed to be welded in. Only a few hundred for the work. It's been running great since. Very honest and good work.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place I'm really just very impressed with the professionalism and how well they treat their customers how fair the prices are how quick they are to give you the information all upfront. I've never been disappointed in any of the work that they've done.
I am forever grateful for this auto shop. I think my favorite part is that they never ever speak to me in that condescending tone that I've gotten from every other shop I've ever been to. These guys know what they're doing.

this was my first time at Pete's great service i dropped my car off at 8am got it back at 5 same day. Sounds good rides nice and the price was right ....thanks guys i will definitely recommend to family and friends

These folks are honest. If they are sure what the problem is, they tell you and discuss options. They work super fast and the prices are very fair. They don’t do engine work but for anything else this is the only place I will go.
