Knead Wine

After hearing so many positive things about Knead Wine’s pizza and overall concept we had been wanting to try it out, but since they don’t have a dining room, it’s really tough since we live an hour away and we’d rather eat fresh, hot pizza than to take it to go. So, recently when we were in the area to visit a winery that permitted outside food, we stopped in her first and got a couple of pies…

The two pizzas we ordered were phenomenal! The dough was outrageously excellent and perfect! The texture, density, and definitely the slight char on the crust. The toppings were of high quality and each of the pizzas came together to be very tasty and amazing!

We will most definitely return if in the area with the same opportunity to take it and still eat it while it’s fresh and hot. Just wish they had a dining room… also they need to offer plastic utensils to take away to use.

We just stumbled upon this place while driving south. Their pizzas are absolutely phenomenal. This is take-out only so we were slightly disappointed that our seating options were limited to outdoors. That wasn’t a big deal for us, the pizza was still absolutely delicious. Great wine options available! Did not expect them to sell freshly made cookies, this was hands down the best cookie I’ve ever had. I’m actually kind of glad that this location is a bit far from us because I would have been a weekly customer, haha. Great customer service, welcomed by a cute dog!

Great pizza! We picked up a great rose as well, the woman at the counter was super helpful. The pizza was done within 15 minutes and she gave us a chilled bottle. The store is laid out well, I love the simplicity of the whole process. I felt like I could pick out almost anything and it would be a hit.

We enjoyed this delightful find in the heart of Middleburg. Nestled in a row of unassuming buildings is the most extraordinary pizza experience you can find. The blend of unusual flavors is a welcome change from the ordinary staple of big brands. You will enjoy!!

Our favorite gourmet pizza spot and home date night meal of choice. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable when helping you select wine. I love the simple business model and they execute it well.

Easily the best best pizza and cookies Virginia amd Maryland. I know this because I travel 2 hours every month just to eat here. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Wish they had tables but eating outside is part of the charm.

This place only does three things. Wine, Pizza and Cookies. And they do those three things fantasticly. The pizzas are small but extremely high quality. The wine selection is outstanding. And the cookies are to die for.

The pizza is the best one I have had in the whole DMV area, even better than some of the OG thin crust brick oven pizza places in NYC and New Heaven. Ingredients are fresh, light and very flavorful. Juicy but not greasy. The dough is thin and puffy at the same time, however very soft in the mouth.

The wife and I ordered pizza on our last night in Middleburg just to have something to eat. Well we accidentally stumbled onto the single best meal we had for the entire trip. These unassuming pizzas outclassed the food at every single winery and brewery we’d been to, in addition to the prior night’s dinner from King Street Oyster Bar and breakfast at Market Salamander (which was absolutely terrible to be fair).

I can’t recommend them high enough, and we’ll certainly make it a tradition when we visit!

We found this place while driving around the middleburg area. We only ordered the cheese pizza because of my kids, but boy, its the best cheese pizza we had. My 5 year old said “its really good, its better than regular pizza” (they are used to papa johns pizza)😆
He rarely comments about his food. They wanted more but we were already far away from the area since we had to eat in the car. They do not have a sitting area which is the only disappointment. You can taste the freshness and the quality of the ingredients they put in there. We will def come back and try their cookies.

Simple concept that is very well done. This might be one of the smallest pizza joints I have ever visited. It has just several racks of nice wine, a register, and a pizza oven cooking delicious food. We ordered a Trucks and a Hendrix. Both were great but the Hendrix was my favorite. The size is about a personal pizza portion. It's a little pricey but that seems to be fitting of the area which is beautiful. I will definitely be back to try some other toppings. The cutest dog was manning the front door too.

In a world of fake accounts posting 1 or 2 reviews to artificially boost a business, I wanted to throw my *authentic* 2 cents in. This place is great. I was so happy that Middleburg finally has a pizza place!!!. And the pizza is amazing. i am hooked on the King pizza with truffle. we add truffle oil at home and its insane. My kids love the pizza here, too. We order online about once a month and get 4 or 5 pizzas to takeaway with friends or family. The wine selection is interesting and I've found a few new favorites. Thanks for coming to Middleburg!!

I was walking by and was drawn in by the sign that declared that the establishment was master somm owned. The owner was not there but the manager was a wine expert and was a delight to talk with about wine. The wine selection was fantastic especially considering that this is a small establishment. All wines in the store are carefully selected and not ones you would commonly find at most retailers. I couldn’t help myself and with the help of the manager I bought half a dozen bottles to take home with me. Each and every bottle we have opened has been wonderful. I can’t wait for my next trip to Middleburg, VA so that I can buy more wine from Knead wine and next time I will be sure and try the pizza.

Pizza is great, yay. But listen: the wine selection is phenomenal. Any time I need a bottle, this is where I go. The staff is approachable and incredibly knowledgeable. Tell them how much you have to spend and what you want (e.g. a big dry red, a bottle to impress a wine expert, something that goes well with chocolate chip cookies, a bottle for an important date) and they will point you in the right direction. When I lived in Europe, this was how local wine shops operated: budget-conscious and looking out for the best interests of their customers.

This place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Their pizza excellent. The crust and sauce are great, but their toppings are to die for. The bacon slices on the pizza were big fat farm fresh bacon as well as every other ingredient. Each little detail is well looked after. They gave a little packet of fresh red pepper flakes to go with the pizza. When I say fresh, I mean fresh. They were notably more potent than the red pepper I keep at home or you normally get at a pizza place. But the best part really was the people. Since they are a takeout operation, they gave us awesome suggestions on where to enjoy our pizza in town. They also spent at least 20 minutes with us while we looked through their wine selection. They gave us suggestions based on what we said we liked, which was amazing and their prices are very affordable. They are all either well versed in the wines that are out for selection or master sommeliers themselves. So the advice is coming from people that know what they're talking about! We've had about half of the wine bottles that we took home that day, and all of them have been wonderful. I couldn't recommend Knead Wine enough!

Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. Great selection of wines - a wall of $20 bottles and a wall of $45 bottles. Friendly and helpful people. Just wish I lived nearby. Great spot!

My first impression was this was going to be a high end pizza because of the pizza and wine concept. I'm not a wine drinker. My second impression was that this was kind of expensive for "personal" sized pizzas. I'd say it's more of 1.5 person pizza. I will tell you that it was worth every penny and more. The crust is phenomenal, the best I've ever had. We had the Richard's pizza...and it was phenomenal. They use only the best ingredients and it really comes through. The meats are like the high end charcuterie type meats and really adds a burst of flavor with each bite. Finally, a pizza where each ingredient adds it's contribution to the flavor in your mouth.

One of the best pizzas I have ever had. I think what makes them so good, is that they use the very best ingredients. There is no cutting corners. Their wine selection is spectacular. The owner is a master sommelier and the people working there are extremely knowledgeable. It is great to pick their brains and try something new and exciting.

Great Wine Selection, Awesome Pizzas & Cutest Dog Ever.

We ordered a lunch and then a dinner over a 7 day stay at the Salamander. Knead has a great oven as the base is properly cooked (crispness on edges with just the right about of burn). Many choices of ingredients to satisfy classic to new tastes - our favorite had prosciutto, soft cheese and pear. We also ordered 2 Greek white wines to take back with us. And yes, our daughter fell in love with Knead’s adorable, not for sale, puppy.

This place is amazing. Their pizzas are always delicious and their wine selections never disappoint.

Question for the chef(s) - Is the Waters pie gone forever? It's my favorite one. I love to order a pie with meat and a vegetarian one.
