Girasole

I ate here a few weeks ago and I was extremely impressed. From outside it doesn't look so nice. It looks very old and add a date from outside. The inside is a nice atmosphere. The lasagna is the best I've had in my entire life exclamation mark I cannot wait to go back! The customer service was fantastic!

By far one of the best authentic Italian restaurants i've ever visited. From the recommended wine, the bountiful appetizers, to the amazing entree, I was not disappointed. The experience was one to remember and I look forward to the next opportunity to enjoy a meal from here again. Big thanks to the staff and Chefs who obviously take pride in this establishment!

I had the lasagna. Wow is all I can say. I keep thinking about it and want to go back just for that. The atmosphere is relaxed but upscale at the same time. Our server was amazing. I highly recommend coming here if you have never been.

Truly a hidden gem in the small town of the Plains! We came here for my husband's 42nd birthday. The menu items had many selections including a few specials and the food was perfect fist sized portions. The pasta is all made in house which is rare indeed.

My kids loved the calamari app! I ordered the the Beef Tartare for appetizer which was good but need a sprinkle of salt to bring out the truffle better. I also ordered the goose ragu which was served in a mint farfelle which was visually very pretty and was well seasoned and had so much flavor!

One of my 8 yo son enjoyed the ribeye steak which was cooked perfectly and my other 6yo son enjoyed the lasagna bolagnese and he gulped that up so quickly. My husband loved his Skate fish dish ( it was perfectly crispy on the edges and flaky tender inside).

My dessert was the lemon tart and presentation and flaky and sweetness of the tart were perfect and delicious! My kids ordered the gelato but it melted too fast on the plate it should have been served in a bowl so they could drink the meltings..haha

Overall a wonderful dining experience and good customer service and we will be back very soon! Thank you!

Such a cozy Italian restaurant tucked in the beautiful countryside of Virginia. Really friendly staff and the food is very good. The fresh baked bread is a must and worth the calories lol. The pear and Walnut salad is a huge recommend!

It’s a great place with authentic and delicious Italian food. They have good meat and fresh local supplies. Highly recommend for a good quality dinner, lunch or celebration for a special occasion.

I enjoyed a delicious meat Lasagna. We love the bread that is brought at the beginning. We had the fried calamari and fried mozzarella which were delicious. We sat inside but there was a large party seated outside. We love coming here for special occasions.

As always, Girasole did not fail to impress and delight our palates! We treated our granddaughter to her first experience here, she had the vegetarian ravioli & loved it. Also had her first cappuccino, could not choose a better one than here!

A lovely dinner! Walking through the patio garden gives diners an idea of what awaits them: beautiful interpretations of favorite dishes. We started with the Limossa aperitivo (limoncello & prosecco) and an appetizer portion of the arugula gnocchi with gorgonzola cream sauce, a current special. Both were divine! Next, came our Insalati Girasole with local greens and it came with just local greens and a light dressing. (I should have asked for a dash of parmesan and pepper.) For dinner, I chose Filetti di Bronzino al Pomodoro e Pignoli and my friend, the Papparedelle alla Bolognese so that we could each try a dish of pasta and of fish. I loved the branzino (european sea bass), cooked perfectly and topped with a delicate sauce with tomatoes, basil and pine nuts. My friend's fresh house-made pasta stuffed with a meaty tomato sauce was perfect. We saved some room to share an amazing Bing cherry and apricot cobbler with vanilla bean gelato and finish with coffee. Don't miss the gorgeous dessert tray. Overall, a very enjoyable evening, made even more so by Girasole's attentive staff and their hostess-owner, Lydia.

Fantastic experience having our rehearsal dinner here at Girasole with approx 55 guests. Lydia was very nice throughout the process, honest and upfront (in a good way), and made our night very special. Our guests were extremely satisfied with the authentic delicious food and the restaurant fit our wedding weekend vibe well. We thought the price was fair and reasonable for the food and service we received. Can’t wait to return here for future dinners and highly recommend Girasole for any events you may be considering.

Absolutely fantastic! So much thought and care goes into their wonderful menu and the taste is superb. It is honestly one of my favorite places to eat. Wonderful cocktails and service. I have never been disappointed.

This was one of THE BEST food at an Italian restaurant we've ever had! The place is not fancy, but more with a rustic feel, relaxed atmosphere and very inviting! Excellent service and fantastic food - fresh ingredients, some from their garden, all perfectly seasoned, and impeccably served! We celebrated our 12th anniversary and we drove 60 miles across state lines to go to this place, after my husband read about it in the Washington Post Magazine! It is pricey, because it's fine food, but TOTALLY worth it! We will definitely go back for special occasions!

We loved this spot. We went with some friends and had multiple courses and plenty of drinks and spent hours on the patio. It's hard to say which particular dish was a favorite, everything was excellent. It's in such a charming town, too!

Susan’s 80th birthday, celebrated in style. She was very happy. It is a lovely eatery.

Always a great experience at Girasole. The staff, food, wine selection and desserts are all amazing! You can’t go wrong coming to The Plains and eating at Girasole.

My family has been going to Girasole since I was a child. The service is incredible and the staff makes you feel like family, not to mention how delicious the food is. The atmosphere is lovely, as well. Very romantic and intimate! If you are planning on dining here, you MUST try to tiramisu for dessert! It is to die for!

The food is exquisite and the service is perfect. We had Diana as our server. It was nothing else she could do to make it more perfect it was beyond good. Was my son's 30th birthday and he had the T-bone steak and I had homemade guitar string pasta with clams. The flavor was out of this world.

My favorite restaurant in The Plains. The owner is fun and creative and the chefs always have what is local, in season and elegant. The food is absolutely delicious and the wines are perfect.

There are more healthy options here than in other locations and it is always swamped. Perhaps the higher end clientele doesn't write as many reviews but it's awesome!

Incredible cuisine, staff and owners. Been many times and even had a good-sized gathering for my birthday, and everything was stellar! Even glorious outdoor seating in-season.

My friends and real estate clients hosted a 50th birthday dinner for me there. We sat outside. Delightful.
