Happy Creek Coffee & Tea

Will drive for a good pour over!!! This place has excellent coffee and tea. The shop is shared with a bike repair and makes for some interesting and fun decor. But first.....the coffee. The Mexican Roast pour over is worth the wait. Smooth, velvet taste. The Earl Gray Lavender Tea where they brew the honey with the tea is magnifique. The aroma is intoxicating and the taste is a treat. The shop was under new ownership, and the food selection was limited, but I have no doubt it will be back up and running with eggcellent choices for all those hard peddling bike riders that need fuel for their adventures. I also enjoyed the local art displayed, as well as the plants for sale. The pay it forward coffee sleeve cork board was heartwarming and I hope they keep that going. I can't wait to come back on my next stay in the area.

Was on a road trip to Asheville from VA and made a pit stop into this cool little coffee shop. Was very uniquely designed with bikes and bike parts. They had great coffee, a great staff, and a pay it forward wall. Very cool premise!

Stopped here on our way home from a hike; decided to stop here on the way to/from our next hike in the area. Delicious food, quick service, cool atmosphere. Get the Mexican hot chocolate. And a churro waffle. And whatever my wife had, because she said that was good, too.

I was about to venture into the Wild West leaving DC and I had not had my morning cold brew yet. I quickly searched for some coffee shops and this was the last one I saw for hundreds of miles along my trip. I quick my stopped and all my needs were met. The inside is wicked cool (a bike shop too!), coffee was spot on (they had oat milk too), and the egg and cheese was great. Will definitely be coming back. Be sure to stop here if you are ever near by!

The coffee and espresso here are great, and the soups have been really yummy so far as well. We got beef stew the first time and chicken and wild rice soup the second. On our very first trip in, the young daughter of who I presume is the owner gave me a gourd she had decorated herself. It was very sweet 😊

As soon as I walked into this place, I loved the atmosphere, and the staff greeted me. And their selections of coffees are fantastic.

It's the best place to stop by on a drive through plains or place to unwind.

This little coffee shop is not only cute as heck but started my 8 hour drive off right. The menu is super cool looking and I wish I had the time to try everything. (Try the bacon, egg and cheese panini it's to die for)

Very cool coffee shop in the charming village of The Plains. The coffee, espresso drinks, hot chocolate and teas are all delicious. I haven't tried their other offerings, like italian sodas and smoothies. They have lots of sandwiches, soups, and baked goods too. I love that they offer so many local Virginia items, from roasted coffees to handmade chocolates and notecards. We love to stop here when we're on our way to Shenandoah. Oh, and my kids love to play chess on the stone chessboard they have there.

I didn't buy anything, but counter person was very cordial. Cool place to check out and see... especially if you're into bikes.

Located in the town of The Plains, Happy Creek offers fabulous coffees, teas and smoothies as well as an all-gluten-free menu of baked goods, sandwiches, salads and daily soup specials. They have their own coffee roasters (located at the Front Royal location I believe) and their blends are smooth and flavorful, great to take home. They also serve fabulous trickling springs creamery ice cream. Service is helpful and friendly and the ambiance is casual and comfortable. WiFi is excellent and they don’t mind if you hang out with your laptop for a while. There’s also a bike shop - Haymarket Bikes - sharing the space with them. Maybe a two for one if you need your bike fixed?! Altogether a great place - highly recommend!

This location is located near the mountains of Virginia. Their latte is strong and I must say the lemon blueberry pastry was amazing

Whenever I’m driving by The Plains (usually on my way to go hiking), I stop here for a coffee. Service is quite friendly. An oat milk mocha is my go-to, but it seems that everything they make is good. I haven’t personally had any of their breakfast or lunch items, but they do look good. There are tasty treats available too, such as cookies, and I can vouch that those are delicious.

This coffee shop is in the same space as a bike shop. While you’re waiting for your order, browse bike gadgets to pass the time. Or think about all the adventures you’d like to have. And then take your coffee and maybe a no-bake cookie and go have an adventure.

This was a wonderful surprise! I was in the midst of a 12 hour trip with three under five. I stopped at the exit for a potty break.

Before leaving, my wife and I got two of the best cups of coffee ever. I got the Mexican pour over. It was rich and flavorful. My wife for a vanilla latte. It was delicious.

Great atmosphere! They share their space with a bike shop but they cohabitate well with neither overwhelming the other. The coffee is excellent and while the bakes goods are gluten free they are delicious! If you're a cyclist this is a great location to stop at on your ride for a snack and drink. Also a great location to have a meeting or do some work. The staff are very friendly and helpful too! I highly recommend paying them a visit.

Quality coffee and espresso drinks. Nine different types of tea available. Sells whole beans, each from a different part of the world. Spacious and sunny. Comfortable space to enjoy a beverage. Friendly staff. Entire kitchen is 100% gluten free. Has a bicycle shop inside too! Strongly recommended.

Excellent atmosphere, and friendly staff in a beautiful historic small town. In addition, the coffee and gluten-free pastries are REALLY good. Coldbrew on tap! The shop is a joint coffee and bike shop, which was very exciting for this biking family. High quality experience all-around!

Outstanding! The gluten free chili was the best I have ever had, perfect seasoning, slight heat, and flavorful! Love the GF cookies and numerous choices, such as the GF sandwiches. Always a great experience!

Ran across this place and stopped by because I love checking out new coffee shops.. and this place is AMAZING! Definitely worth a try if you are in the area! Their Iced Mocha is delicious and they make their Mocha from scratch! Staff was extremely friendly and very informative. Looking forward to going back soon! ☺
