Excellent sushi rolls at very reasonable prices. Best Crab Rangoon we've ever had. Chicken fried rice was amazing. Definitely will come back to this place.

Awesome place! Very small, but usually easy to get into for dinner. Servers have always been very kind and attentive, the food doesn’t disappoint!

A really nice and quiet atmosphere with good food and large portions! Sushi tastes very fresh and the texture is great. We had the yakisoba which was delicious. The meat is perfectly grilled and seasoned!

It is inside the Grand Manse if you get lost.

Best sushi I have ever had. So good I didn’t use a drop of soy sauce. This is your must go to place for sushi!
And, their Long Island Tea is amazing!

This place has been a favorite of ours since they opened. It has a great atmosphere. Their food tastes so much better than the other chain sushi restaurants. If you go there you have to try their specialty rolls, especially the ones that come out on fire.

This is my favorite sushi place. I’ve gotten take out here probably over 50 times and have ate in the restaurant a handful of times. My takeout is always ready and the food is always always always amazing. I love the food here. Service is great and fast.

Update: 5 May 2023 — I was able to visit this establishment after roughly 18 months since my review. It still rocks as one of the best Sushi spots I’ve ever been. Can you believe this spread of awesomeness was less than $75?!?!?

Jan 2022 — I travel the world and I have to say, to find a sushi place this great in “fly-over country” is amazing. The menu has a great variety of different and unique rolls and the sashimi platter was substantial in the amount of fish which was so very tender and silky smooth. If you’re driving down I-80 headed east or west, take the exit and pop downtown and treat yourself to some great sushi. You won’t be disappointed.

Grey Whale is the best sushi in the Haymarket. My daughter and I love to go there. Edamame is the best around and happy hour specials are awesome.

This establishment truly gave me life. Every single hardship that I have encountered in life went away after eating fried rice with yum yum sauce from Gray Whale. The atmosphere and history proves that the food is worth it. 10/10 rating. Lastly, the happy hour cured my Sunday Scaries instantly. Highly recommend!!

The Hollywood roll had a great crunch and tasted amazing! The Monkey Roll was the best with mango and smoked salmon and a sweet sauce!

This place was fantastic! The staff were all very fun, authentic, helpful, welcoming, and polite. The sushi was very good and decent quality for a landlocked state. They have great drink specials and I good selection of mixed drinks, beer, and wine. I would definitely recommend that you get one of the flaming sushi thing because it was fun. Sake Bombs are always good too. The atmosphere was OK for a brand new place, and I think they will be working on that as they go along. Definitely a great place if you like sushi and you're looking for something fun and authentic and adventurous.

My sushi place of choice in town, always love coming here, the food is delicious and it's a cute place for a date. I'd recommend trying the takoyaki if you're here! It's delicious, but make sure they cool first.

Grey Whale is always amazing place to eat and has some delicious menu options for sushi fans. Friend ordered one of the flaming rolls (Philly Sushi) and it was amazing. Presentation was great and flavors made the tastebud explode. I ordered the Monster Roll and left extremely satisfied.

Wow wow wow wow wow. Great sushi (my favorite, actually, and that includes places in Oregon and Washington) and fantastic appetizers.

Service was great, atmosphere was friendly, and the sushi bar even treated us to some torched sashimi when we mentioned we'd never tried it prepared that way.

Will be back every time I'm in Lincoln, guaranteed!

At first I wasn’t impressed. Presentation was superb on the sashimi. Food was amazing. Would recommend to a friend.

Fun Valentines Story:
We arrived to Grey Whale late for dinner and were seated almost right away. This was delightful since we both were feeling hungry, but we ended up waiting awhile. This was due to the many customers waiting and getting checked out. To our relief, another server noticed and took our order swiftly. In our order, she got the Lobster Cha Cha Roll and I got the Running Man Roll. Our order came quite quick and tasted fantastic. I honestly wish I would have made another order to-go. Overall, a great meal definitely worth waiting for!

Service is excellent! Food is so good. Everything is fresh! This is the best sushi restaurant in Lincoln!

Me and my grandma came for a study to nebraska and didn’t think we were going to find this gem.!!!! SO DELICIOUS the running man roll doesn’t disappoint!!!

Supper good sushi and the staff is so friendly. One of the better sushi places I have ever been to.
