Mount Helena

We hiked trail 1906. Made it to the summit and WOW! Absolutely gorgeous views. The breeze was great. We just sat up there for awhile taking in all the sites around us. Took us 2 hours to make it to the top (just normal people, kinda fit 🤣)
My daughter LOVED it.

Such a lovely mountain with tons of options for activities. You can run on trails at the foot of the mountain or select from a variety of trails to climb to the top on foot or bike. Trails are very well marked. Worth it to the top!!!!!! Gorgeous views!

Whew! What a great hike! Trails are good, with plenty of options. So worth the view of this beautiful valley!

If you live in or remotely near Helena, it is a must see. The hike is super easy (less than an hour up), but extremely rewarding with a practically 360⁰ view of Helena, you pass through the big "H" on the mountain, and get to see a small cave in the rocks. While you don't hike much, the highest elevation is still 5460ft!

To get the the 1906 trail, which takes you to the big "H" and small cave, follow the dirt path across the small bridge and then take the first path left with a sign that says you can have your dog off their leash.

This one is a must-do hike to the top if you visit Helena. I highly recommend the powerline trail, the most direct route to the summit. It is less used, and has more straightforward routefinding. My coworker once hiked up here in office shoes, but I really dont think it’s a good idea. There are some sections of looser rock/gravel on powerline trail. You gotta go up first, and then you get to go down, in that order. Excellent physical conditioning very convenient to town!!!

Hiking up to the top of Mount Helena is a perfect afternoon activity regardless of the season. Choose your favorite among several trails that lead up, and take a different one to go down. Enjoy the gorgeous views of the town itself and the surrounding area. Take a break in your busy days, relax and spend some time among hills and forests -- it well worth it!

Awesome trail, definitely a bit of a hike but there were numerous young kids out with there parents. The hike up has numerous views in every direction, and a full 360 view from the summit. Trails are well marked with different difficulty options. Well traveled, seems like a popular weekend spot.

HIGHLY recommend this hike. It took me about 45 minutes at a brisk pace to get to the top (using the 1906 trail). I recommend this route as it's the "flatest" trail that I saw. You can really see the full city, in all of its beauty, whether in the evening or morning.

Stunning panoramic view of the city from a variety of trails! This is a "hell yes!". Do it.

Being from Wisconsin the elevation got to us a little , we made it , 1906 trial ! The view from the top was fantastic!

Beautiful hike! Not too crowded. HELENA!!!!

I love Mount Helena! Quick trails that give you plenty if options to the summit without taking all day. Definitely a place to check out to get a quick hike in and enjoy some beautiful views.

It's a giant mountain with a great view. If that's your thing, hike it. Sunrise from the top is incredible.

Fun hike! If you're a flat lander like us (Michigan), the power line trail is no joke!

A nice parking lot has a lovely view overlooking the city.

Make sure that you search for the parking lot rather than the mountain. I first got directions to the mountain, and it just took me to a residential area with no parking or trail access.

Great place to go for a hike. Enjoyed the views at the top! Highly recommend!

Awesome trails! Amazing place!

After all my travels, this place, this mountain, called to me. The Prickly Pear people have done a lot of work on this mountain park to make it accessible. I hiked here as a kid, with my brother we would set up a small camp at devil's kitchen. There are those who say that a huge crystal lies within, radiating energy far and wide.

But I'm not going to go all woo woo on this to do. I love the development but I hope they don't develop too much.
