West Marine

West Marine in North Charleston, SC has an absolute rock star in their associate Dan. Im 31 years old and honestly cant recall ever working with a retail associate anywhere for that matter that is as knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly as Dan. I purchased a boat a few months back and for the first few weeks of having the boat I was frequenting this West Marine location literally daily. I knew very little about wiring electronics and the electronics themselves and Dan went out of his way every single time to help me out and ensure that I understood what all I would need and also how to properly install everything. After a few consecutive days of coming in and asking a million questions, most associates would have lost their patience but Dan greeted me by name each time and was as helpful and friendly as he was the very first time I walked in. Thanks to Dans guidance along the way, I have completed my long list of to-do items on the boat in probably half the time it would have taken me otherwise. West Marine is fortunate to have someone like him.

Came in pretty late on a Friday night.
They had what I needed.
Elly was helpful in finding what I asked for and made suggestions of similar items that might suit me as well.
The frozen bait I bought caught lots of fish.
Prices were pretty average for a sporting goods store.

Stacie at the North Charleston, SC.location helped me navigate a delivery issue from the warehouse that had came up concerning a kayak I had purchased. She went above and beyond in her efforts to appease me. She was very professional, pleasant and understanding. Very impressed with this West Marine employee!

Dan was very helpful in helping me get parts for a battery switch for my boat. He talked me through what I needed, helped me compare products, and even came up with some good ideas for install. Being able to check out products in person is so neccessary, and prices were same or better than Amazon. Good prices and support will definitely have me back in store before I buy online. Always has what I need, even if more expensive than online. It's nice to be able to go and hold it and compare options. Staff are always super helpful. Rewards program seems to be a good deal because let's face it, If you own a boat, you'll be back.

I didn't walk around the store. I only went to look at the fish finders near the front. The guy who works there was very professional and courteous. He showed me different models and features based on information I told him. I will definitely be back to purchase.

Dan was incredibly helpful when I called and was searching for an outboard. He helped me understand and solidify the outboard best suited for my needs and was considerate of the overall pricing. Dan was the man!

Placed an order online. B/o info was unavailable but I was shipping to the N Charleston store so I called to see if I could get somewhere with them. Without asking they cancelled my order and brought in house to have more control. They transferred in my items in no time. What I'm sure would've been a headache turned out pretty smoothly. Great selection and prices

Been coming to this location for years. They are not one of larger locations that have tons of clothing, but typically have everything you need to fish locally. Have a decent selection of marine items and will order anything that is not in stock for you. Customer service has always been excellent for me.

Love this place. They have knowledgeable employees and anything you could want for boating. The price can be a little high sometimes, but they off set that with good sales. You can find boating repair kits, lighting, electronics, trailer equipment, tires, spark plugs, life jackets, rods, reels, and even crab pots. Pretty much anything you need for your boat.

Great customer service. Dan and all the other staff are extremely nice and helpful and everything in the store is great quality at an excellent price.

They helped us select and set up our new Garmin device. Great customer service.

As a 10+ year Commercial "Pro" Customer, they have always been a valued vendor and my #1 vendor this year. The only complaint i have is the double billing when placing an online order (in-store is fine). A pre and post authorization for an order could tie up double funds for over a week before they release the pre. Try placing a $5k order. That can hurt! And absolutely nothing can be done but wait... None of my other vendors hold funds like that. Yes they do pre and post but its like immediate, not both active at the same time! But i love the products n service and Pro pricing i get.

Great store always Ready to Help and know their Business

Very friendly staff. They are knowledgeable and love to talk fishing! They make good recommendations and have decent prices. They also carry many products that you will not find at most boat supply stores.
