The Icehouse Restaurant

Very good food! Great outside atmosphere, and kid friendly. Theirs a mini playground for children to keep busy, so parents this is great place to have a nice enjoyable dinner. This is my second time going here and everything was great. My server Jenny was very nice and took great care of us ( thank u Jenny). Food took a minute to be severed but I didn’t mind it. Food was great and served hot! Which I love. Will definitely keep coming back!

The collards were the best I've had. Large portions. Food was delicious and a lot of it. Will definitely go back when we are in the area

A great environment that's unique to Summerville.

The shrimp and grits come in a brown broth that is very pepper forward. It reminded me of a Louisiana style broth. Grits cooked well but shrimp were a bit overdone.

The beignets were absolutely amazing and easily the highlight of the whole meal. Get them before dinner!!

The serloin was meh and just average.

The grilled pork was great. Super flavor and the sauce on top was awesome.

We've been multiple times and each time is good enough to come again. Not my favorite place in Summerville but still a good one to bring out of town visitors to.

I was in Summerville to meet a client for dinner and went to the Icehouse. This was my first time at the Icehouse, and I was very impressed. The restaurant is in a building that was built in 1920s, and the inside has exposed brick walls. It has a cool vibe. We ordered the fried lobster Mac & Cheese Fritters as an appetizer, and they were outstanding. For my meal, I had the Country Fried Steak that came with mashed potatoes and gravy as well as zucchini. I really enjoyed it. I also had a glass of wine and a Old Fashion. I would highly recommend eating at the Icehouse.

Fantastic atmosphere. The backend chicken pasta is out of this world ! The shrimp and grits is great also. Rich and savory flavoring.

The alligator sausage (special) was excellent. The chicken fried steak looked very good. Decent selection of beer on tap. Nice outside area.

Great for lunch or dinner in Summerville. My coworkers and I are at icehouse at lease one or two days a week for lunch. They have a great overall menu but take my advice and go for one of the specials! There are always some great options over there and I have never been disappointed. Some of my favorite specials are when soft-shell crabs are in season or the tomato pie!

Loved it. The dining room's brick walls and wooden rafters offered some great ambiance. The house burger was inexpensive ($11) and, IMHO, the best burger I've had in the Lowcountry. It pairs well with the blueberry wheat beer they have on tap. To top it all off, our server, Abby, was nice as could be. We'll definitely go back!

Cozy atmosphere, classic as well as unique Southern fare, and cheap drinks - this place has it all! There's a nice outdoor play area for young kids, plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, and friendly and helpful staff full of great recommendations. I definitely suggest ordering from the Amal flap on the menu that has rotating and constantly changing items created by the talented chef. I'll be back again and again and will bring new friends and family every time!

Went here with my parents to celebrate my birthday. LOVED the atmosphere. It has such a neat feel to it. The food was incredible! We highly recommend the Cajun pasta, shrimp and grits, and the pecan pork chop. We also enjoyed a couple of the cocktails, the apple bourbon sour (pretty sure that’s what it was called) and the blood orange lemonade were refreshing and delightful. Also..the beignets? A MUST!!!
Aside from that, our server was very friendly and we enjoyed having her talk with us.
Definitely a must see when you’re in the area.

Awesome atmosphere!! Totally unique, comfortable, hip place to hang out or eat. Got an awesome outside area too w/ play area for kids.

Service was fantastic. Starla, our waitress, was epic: super nice lady with a laid-back personality who's professional, fast, and friendly. She made the experience all that much better. Food is very good across the board, with some dishes outstanding (try the lamb ribs appetizers, wow!)

Also important (for us), this place is NOT charging customers extra to use their debit/credit card, as many places downtown have recently started doing.

If you're exploring downtown, this restaurant is 20min north and if you're staying in north Charleston, it's like 10min.

Cute Fun Place. Gorgeous historical industrial brick building makes for an amazing backdrop to scrumptious comfort food.
For my Accessible Friends: Lots of stairs/steps to navigate inside, but they have a great patio & bar section that has no stairs in addition to a ramp going to the second floor located outside. Happy Dining!!

Consistently good food with a great atmosphere and excellent service. I recommend this place to anyone visiting from our of town. Great place for kids as they have a playground on the outdoor patio.

We had such a wonderful early Christmas family dinner tonight. My filet was cooked perfectly and so tender, everyone else enjoyed their food as well.
I would recommend that the servers be permitted show the guests the specials even though they are not available till 5. Our server seemed annoyed that at 4:35 we wanted to see what was on the menu since we were having appetizers and drinks.
But, other than that, we all left very happy and look forward to coming back again.

One of the most joyful dining experiences I’ve had. The wait was a bit long on a Friday night, but we ordered drinks and chilled on the patio until our table was ready.

Our server was an absolute delight! She had us laughing and talked like we were old friends. The bbq plate special was incredible. Especially the ribs. Everything was juicy and flavorful, and the portion size made it a great value.

A trip to Summerville isn’t complete without a meal at the Icehouse.

Such a great atmosphere and the food is delicious! I had the shrimp po'boy and it was awesome. Definitely a busy place any night, but especially the weekend. 10/10 would recommend :)

An impromptu date night. First time visit for us and glad we went. We were seated right away and our server was right there to get our drink and appetizer order. I had a mango Margherita and my husband I both got the She Crab soup. Bowl for him and cup for we. We didn't wait long and everything was perfect! Main course for me was the filet with cheese grits and fries and my husband had shrimp, chips, and green beans. My steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and the sides were great. Hubby's meal was so good he brought some of his home for later. A piece of their bourbon pecan pie with ice cream followed me home for later. Will certainly add this to our favourite places to go!

Was expecting an actual slice of pie, but it is what it is. Haven't tried it yet, but it looks pretty good.

Great southern menu with a wide range of seating available. The bar upstairs is truly original and was the first time I saw anything like it! The Cajun gumbo is legendary 😋 as are the shrimp and grits!

Met friends here for drinks. The drinks were fairly strong ( a good thing 😁 )
Liked the atmosphere and the service was spot on. The price for the drinks were definitely fair because they weren't watered down. I plan on going back very soon!
