Lobster is everywhere but I would highly recommend Trenton Lobster Pound as your first stop when in or near Bar Harbor!

The chowder was nice and creamy. And the Hot Lobster roll comes with the butter on the side so you can add as much as you want… (just add the whole thing). All around great food!

A friend recommended me this place and it did not disappoint! They let you choose the lobster you want. They have both soft and hard lobster. I had the soft one and it was really tasty. They say the hard one had more meat. The lobster roll and the desserts were also really good! I absolutely recommend trying the woopie pie when in Maine! Highly recommended!

We loved this place. We came here twice during our 3-day stay. A family friend (a Maine native) suggested that we come here. He said it’s the only place worth eating in the area. Fresh, delicious foods. Friendly service. Come around 9am for the full menu. Otherwise, only boiled lobsters at opening hour (8am), which isn’t a bad way to start your day. We loved the big, juicy, boiled lobsters. But also enjoyed the steamed clams and oysters. So good!

Came here on my last night up in Maine. Save for the annoying midwestern tourist that couldn’t order for the life of them…it was a very easy experience. To the right was the fresh lobsters in a green cooler and I selected a jumbo. They weighed it and then I slid over to square away my bill. The moxie was refreshingly cold and I ordered a crab dip along with a lobster bisque. The crab dip was delicious and very liberal with meat. The soup was piping hot and packed with chunks of lobster. Wood fired lobster was ready within minutes and was mouthwatering. Excellent customer service along with pleasant seats! Would recommend here!

Live lobsters boiled with sea water by wood! The most fresh and tasty lobsters I ever had! Highly recommend this place! I came twice during my 2-day visit of bar harbor. Had a 2.5lbs male lobster and a lobster roll for the first time, then a 2lbs female lobster and steamed slams for the second time. Everything tasted wonderful! Oooh and also their blueberry pie is amazing! Fresh and not too sweet. Highly recommend!

Yummy Lobster and Shrimp Rolls!!!

We loved their food so much that we visited this Restaurant twice. We had their lobster salad sandwich, Shrimp Roll, steamed oysters and crab dip.

I loved all the food. But my all time favorite is shrimp roll and lobster sandwich. The lobster is very fresh and juicy. Both the rolls are cold food. If you want to eat hot you could try their hot butter lobster roll.

The live lobster and boiled lobster are available to take home. It will be good for 2 to 3 days.

There will be a lot of people waiting in the queue. Unlike other restaurants they won't reserve the table. If you want to eat, you must stay in line and order. Prices are similar in all the restaurants in bar harbor. But the food is totally worth it.

I would definitely recommend it.

DARN YOU TRENTON BRIDGE LOBSTER POUND!! After experiencing real lobster, pulled from the sea and cooked in seawater, I will never be able to eat it anywhere else again. Literally. I thought I knew what lobster tasted like...but I was so, so wrong. Everything I tried was great, but DON'T miss the lobster.

You were my first stop after landing in Bangor on my way to Bar Harbor and I loved it so much I went back for lunch the next day! I was even contemplating driving BACK to Trenton on my way to the airport on my last day (coming from Waldoboro!) but you had closed for the season. SO glad I caught you at the beginning of the week.

We went back 2 years later and again ate their twice in 2 days!! I splurged and got a massive 2 pounder. So amazing. We have also ordered lobsters shipped to our home in Arizona a few times since and they were fabulous as well. Thanks again for the first class food.

Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound is a nice little spot just off the road boiling live lobsters in seawater over wood fires. It's got a quaint, no-frills vibe with a nice view of the narrows, and everything you could want in a lobster pound.

You will get the Maine experience you're looking for here.

I wanted to love this place, but the folks behind the counter were entirely unequipped to deal with the groups of tourists who arrived just before and after us, and it made for an unorganized and chaotic experience from start to finish.

5 stars for what I figure the experience is like on a better afternoon.

Even though the restaurant part is not open yet for the 2023 season, we were able to pick up a pound of cooked lobster meat and a half pound of their crab dip to take back to our RV for dinner. Took their suggestion and sautéed the lobster meat with butter…so delicious! You can call and they’ll even boil lobster for you to pick up and take home (they even crack it for you!) or eat it in your car if you dare. Cheaper than eating at a local restaurant and so delicious! Highly recommend!!

Decided to stop here for steamed clams. They are so clean and not gritty at all! Plump and ready to be eaten!! I chose butter with mine and washed it down with a beer! See photos below!
I’ll definitely be stopping here again for lobster before I leave town!!

8/8/2022 stopped here for lunch! Saw this place on a travel video. I ordered the clam chowder, lobster, blueberry pie, and a tea. This is a family owned business so I’m all about supporting these types of establishments!

The clam chowder was good, not as good as Cape Cod. It was $9 for a cup and I would of liked more clams in it. I received my chowder, pie, and drink first and had to wait on my lobster to cook.
They open an ice box type container and show you all the live lobsters and let you choose what size you want. They boil it in sea water which definitely adds the needed salty flavor.

The lobster was delicious! Can’t really screw up a lobster. They do charge $1.34 for the butter but if you think about it imagine all the thousands of lobsters that need butter so it’s a cost thing, so understandable! Why not make an extra buck if you can!!

I enjoyed eating here and recommend stopping here for a yummy lobster!!! Plenty of seating!

This is the best place ever! Every year we have shipped to us in Wisconsin, 3lb lobsters for Christmas Eve and they are the best ever. One year one of the lobster’s claws was detached and had gone bad (but everything else was fine) and we called just to let them know and they were so so so nice about it. I would highly recommend this place even though we have never eaten in the restaurant. BEST PLACE EVER.

If I could eat here everyday, I would. A nice family-owned business serving fresh and delicious lobster! Cheaper than the upscale restaurants in the city center. If you are visiting acadia or bar harbor, and hoping to get good seafood at a reasonable price, this joint should be on your list. One of the staff named James was really nice to us. We were seated comfortably inside, the tables were large, and we ordered 4 big lobsters complete with sides and drinks without going over our budget. We absolutely loved this place.

Yum!!! Best lobster and sides around BY FAR. Owners and staff are so friendly.
Wish we were spending more time in the area, I would definitely go back for another lobster dinner and warm lobster roll!!!

Love this place. They sell ousters too, Cadillac.
I usually get the live lobster , steamers , mussels and don't forget the pie. Price is very good for such an amazing place. I hope they keep doing well and killing it with the amazing service and quality products.

Had our first dining experience here of the 5 day trip in Acadia. Loved the lobster roll, lobster stew and clam chowder which was the freshest and pleasant version I have ever tasted. Watched the spectacle of living lobsters dancing in front of diners, and craved for the whole lobster bake which I didn’t have the dare to finish alone…

Our first Maine Lobster Pound experience! Such a great meal and environment. Go right in on the right and pick out your lobster, then get a pad to mark the rest of your order and hop in the register line on the left. Feels communal, in a good way. Delightful, authentic, highly recommend!

Best of the best. My parents brought me here as a kid 35 yrs ago. 20 yrs ago brought my wife here and now I brought my kids here….food is amazing. Lobster roll delicious, wife loved their fresh cooked lobster, my daughter enjoyed a full lobster and my less adventurous son said their Mac n cheese was two thumbs up.

We loved this place! We wanted to bring home some lobster so we could have taste of Maine when we got home, and let me tell you, the people who run this store are fabulous! They were so sweet and kind, they cooked the lobster right up for us (it was delicious) we chatted while we waited, and it was a fun, personable experience.

An unpretentious place for the freshest lobsters you can get!The lobsters are cooked outdoor in the wood fired stoves. You sit in simple picnic tables and work your lobsters as long as you like and as messy as you like. The price is great compare to sit down places in town. It's cheaper than my local markets plus it's fresh and cooked. I would highly recommend the soft shells lobsters, but the corn, clam chowder, and oysters are so so.

The owners, an older couple, are nice. You order the lobsters first and then get in line to pay. Food is ready in a few minutes. We were there on the July Fourth weekend. It was a little crowded but the line was not too bad.
