This beautiful landmark memorializes the efforts of the famed doughboys of WW1 fame as well as their commander, Black Jack Pershing. This site shows the major fronts fought by the US, a huge statue of Pershing, a waterfall with a famous poem, and an absolutely stunning bronze relief called “A Soldier’s Journey” that shows multiple views of a soldier’s experience from an emotional leaving home to the tough fighting, being wounded and recovery, through returning home - it is stunning. Each and every day at 5 PM a musician and (ex)serviceman comes out and plays Taps complete with greatcoat and WW1 helmet in front of the US flag. Amazing. This is one of the fantastic landmarks of the city - definitely go and see this one, and at 5 PM.

Nice small park next to the National Mall with a statue of Pershing. The park, originally dedicated in 1981, was recently redesigned as a national World War I memorial. The park covers a trapezoid shape area just a bit over 1.5 acres. There are benches around and a fountain. The sculpture at the end of the fountain is being built currently with expected date of installation being 2024.

It's a nice place to visit.

You can learn a little bit of history or enjoy the view.

Many benches to sit, good lighting and very close of the white house.

You can feel safety in this site.

Pershing Park is very close to the White House. Good place to relax after walking around the DC. It has plenty of benches to sit and relax and learn about the history of John Pershing. This park is extremely relaxing.

This was our last day living in the District so we HAD to visit the new WWI memorial. It was beautifully done. It was a misty, early morning which made the memorial even more somber. Definitely swing by and take a look if you're in town!

Spent the last few months in this park. With the new memorial replacing this park I feel honored to have been a part in it's final permitted demonstration. Google amerikan injun movement EXPOSING THE GODMACHINE to learn more.

This is a great little park to take a rest while doing your tour of DC’s monuments or a great destination for Washingtonians to spend sometime in our city. Located at the west end of Pennsylvania Ave (before it continues on the other side of the White House, you have a view of the Capitol, the Washington Monument, the Wilson Building (DC’s gorgeous seat of government), Freedom Plaza (check out the map of downtown DC that makes up the plaza floor), the Treasury building, the Willard Intercontinental, and the relatively new World War I memorial in the park itself. Well worth the visit!

Take the time to hang out while passing through. This is a cool spot for a lot of reasons and if you take my advice you’ll see some of those reasons.

A homeless person yelled at me while riding by. I am simultaneously inspired and disgusted.

We shall derive meaning in all this.

The banner on the fountain will eventually be replaced by a bronze sculpture -- check out the website! In the meantime enjoy the rest of the scenery 😁

The park was closed for a while while they revamped it. It's much more open now. Good place to take a little ad off while you're taking in the sights downtown. Plenty of benches now.

Great place to gather or to relax. One of the better parks of Washington. Highly recommend it. Has great views of various monuments and you can feel like you're in the center of the action.
