Trailhead Bar & Grill

Our group of 6 trail riders stopped in for dinner after a fun day on the trails. Great service and food! I enjoyed a Grilled Cheese Burger, and a margarita, delicious! Not a complaint among our group. Definitely recommend.

You will not be disappointed visiting here. The food and the atmosphere is amazing. Not to mention the waitresses, as well as the owner Jamie made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in the door. Even the locals treated us out-of-towners like family and made our group feel more then welcome. 10/10 recommend traveling here over any other bar!!

I visited the Trailhead Bar and Grill for dinner on Thursday and Friday night. They were packed but our food came just as we ordered it. I ate a club sandwich and sidewinder fries on Thursday and Catfish on Friday. They were both 10/10. I spoke to the owner and he said he hand breads the catfish himself. The prices were amazing too!!
All my friends were raving about their food choices.
Matewan is our favorite of all the places we go trail riding!
We picked a great time to go. The fall leaves were beautiful! We will definitely be back.

Amazing food, great drinks, fun environment, bartenders are fun and owner is AWESOME.. We are here all the way from Freedom, Wisconsin and would for sure come here again!! So worth the stop!!

Wow! The food is amazing! Here on vacation and it did not disappoint. We had chicken quesadillas and the grilled cheese burger! So good! Definitely will be back!

A nice bar/restaurant downtown Matewan! Right next to the Devil Anse trail head, tons of parking. Great food and selection! Super nice wait staff. Would definitely visit again if in Matewan! Also the big fries were SO good!

This place is awesome great food, owners are great. I would eat here every day if I could.

This place is fantastic! Don’t think twice about stopping in just do it! We stopped in late and had 3 little ones under the age of two and they were absolutely wonderful with the kids! Abby our waitress was great! The owner is very kind! Food was amazing! I had the pretzel and wings with the fries! No complaints from anyone on their food everyone boxed up what they couldn’t finish and had it the next day! Recommend 10 out of 10!

We were camping in the area to ride the trails. On our first day of riding we were too tired to think about cooking and went here for dinner. We had the bison burger and the catfish. Both were delicious! We loved it so much here we went back 2 more times during the week! Everything we had was great! Oh, and I almost forgot the mention the Side Winder Fries! YUM!!

We spend a lot of time in West Virginia riding our side by side. This place is awesome! The food is always fantastic and the staff are fabulous! The place is very clean and the atmosphere is always welcoming even if we are covered in dried mud! The owners are usually there working as well. They put a lot of heart and hard work into their establishment and it shows!

Holy cow!! We started with the meatballs, they’re homemade and so so good!!! I had the Rueben with sidewinder fires , best Rueben I’ve ever had ! My husband had the fried fish dinner and it also was delicious! I never like hush puppies but they were very good! We also ate there last year and it was delicious then too!! Owners are super friendly and the staff is awesome ! It’s worth the trip !!

What a great restaurant! The chicken tacos were the best I've ever had, and my husband enjoyed his philly quesadilla. We added the beer cheese for the sidewinder fries. Yum! Everything was tasty, the atmosphere was cozy, and the staff is friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again!

I found this place just this past weekend as my riding group and I wondered into matewan. The food was the great, the drinks were cold. The staff was top notch. The whole building was clean. If I could give them six stars I would!
