In response to the previous review by Samantha Rodriguez, I would like to share the facts as I am the associate that assisted with this purchase.

I have worked with MAC and within the makeup industry for 20 years since 2003 with extensive experience in color matching. I take the time with each customer by trying on multiple shades to find their perfect color match. I have worked on film, photography, and fashion shows just to give a little bit of background in my experience in response to Samantha’s review that I would make someone look like an orange Cheeto.

Her cousin was a very sweet customer that came in requesting to be color matched. We tried 3 different shades on her face in the MAC Foundation Studio Sculpt.
Shades NC35, NC30, and NC25 - all respectively exactly one shade apart.
NC35 would match her current fading tan from the summer being that it is Fall.
NC30 would match her skin tone perfectly now as a shade between her tanned forehead and her lighter jaw/neck area.
NC25 would be very light on her, creating a white cast that made the skin look ashy especially on the tanned parts of her face.

I explained this to her as she was looking in the lighted mirror at herself, and she agreed she would go with the more natural looking option and picked NC30 to match her skin.

When checking out, she received 40% Off her item as a final sale clearance discount price. I verbally let her know that we are a final sale store, with our terms and conditions sign posted at the counter, and also final sale circled on the receipt as Samantha confirmed in her review.

Samantha was never present at the store and I have never spoken to her. When her cousin came back to return the foundation for a lighter shade, I took her to the mirror and tried her shade NC30 and NC25 together on both sides on her face and blended it down to her neck as she explained she wears a white shirt for work. The NC25 shade made her look very light with a white cast finish and the NC30 blended into her skin. She now wanted to choose the lighter shade.

I have absolutely no problem giving someone a shade that they insist on taking, if that is your preference. I explained that I cannot exchange it as her purchase was a final sale and she can purchase the lighter color for the same 40% off. She became upset that I couldn’t take the return and I directed her to our corporate customer care. She did speak to our customer care representative who opened a case for her to resolve the issue. So Samantha claiming that I gave her a wrong number and tried to take advantage of her is false. This is the store policy and it was clearly explained to her that the 40% Off discount that she received is for final sale. I explained that it is like choosing the cheaper non-refundable option when booking a plane ticket or hotel. You purchase at a lower discounted price and accept the terms that it’s non-refundable. If she would like to have the option of returning or exchanging, then it would be best to purchase the same product from a department store at full price which includes a return or exchange policy.

I have worked at this location for over 3 years and I have never gotten a negative review from shoppers who spend $5 to $1000. This is not a personal choice to not be able to return or exchange a product, it is the company policy that is agreed upon by all shoppers as clearly stated in our terms and conditions at the register and on the receipt. I’m sorry that she was not satisfied with her color match and she feels taken advantage of by the company policy. I suggest that Samantha accompany her cousin to the store in the future to experience how dedicated our staff is to provide a truly exceptional experience for our shoppers. I would love to invite them back into the store to find a solution that they both would be satisfied with.
Best Regards.

This is a great store to find Mac products at 40% off. The sales girls are super helpful, I haven’t had one bad experience in my many visits.

Nyah C color matched MAC foundation for my cousin to purchase. When she got home the color was waaaaay too orange for her. But she said the sales associate continuously tried to convince her that this was her color.
It is noted on the receipt that all items are final sale with the exception of defective merchandise.
When my cousin went back to exchange her foundation, Nyah C helped her find a better color foundation, but then told her she could not exchange the incorrect foundation that Nyah C had helped her purchase in the first place.
My cousin reached out to corporate through the number the store provided and it turned out to be the wrong number…
This store is taking advantage of their customers with this return policy and sales associates not owning up to their mistakes with poor color matching.
Stay away unless you want Nyah C to have you leaving the store looking like a cheeto puff and spending double the money to get 1 product.
