Found a slice of home here while I was in town for a conference last week. This place is a gem and it's run by good people! Shout-out to Frank for recognizing me and taking the time to check in and follow up, no matter how busy the lunch rush gets. Delicious vegan options, coffee, alcohol, and non-alcoholic cocktails (I am craving the purple haze!). There is art for enjoyment and purchase available, and a good selection of books (I did buy one to read on my flight back home). I'll be back on a personal vacation just so I can bring my loved ones here. Also, check out the events, there may be a speaker or open mic night going on!

We stumbled across this gem of a place on K street during our visit to DC. We stopped in for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed everything about this place. It’s ambience, service and of course the food. It was so good, we ordered breakfast to go, the next morning as we headed to the airport. They didn’t disappoint again. Definitely going back!

Picked this place after looking through the reviews, and I thought that we were at the wrong place! I thought it was a bookstore! I was so wrong, and I am happy to admit it! The drinks we ordered as well as all the dishes were so tasty!! I wish our stay in DV was longer so we could have gone back there. The guy at the bar was very laid back and friendly and answered our questions. I will be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed my 1st visit & you will too! My family was seated quickly on a Monday evening. There's something on the menu for everyone! Portions large enough to share or may require to-go boxes. Flavorful pastas. Deeelightful steak & asparagus salad. Outstanding service & lively ambiance with books at the entrance & artwork throughout. Will stop in EVERY SINGLE TIME I'm in DC! 1000%.

Artsy atmosphere! I really cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The staff was friendly, the service and food prompt, attentive and amazing. Food tried was the Oaxaca omelette I added chicken for extra protein, sweet potato fries paired well with ranch. the spice latte and blue match latte was delightful. The Moroccan 2 bean soup wonderful. I also left my hydroflask on one trip the staff labeled the bottle and stored it in the back office for safe keeping. The banana nut muffin and blueberry muffin was delightful I wanted to eat the paper. I also bought a great book I can't wait to tuck into.

Five friends and I came in after sleeping thru brunch and were pleasantly surprised with the variety on the menu afforded to us. Our server, Rontisha was polite, helpful, and attentive. All of the food was absolutely delicious. But I have to give a special shout out to Walter for stepping in to assist in service when a food runner dropped a tray with dishes and sauces on it. Walter personally blotted my friends fur coat clean and checked in with us regularly afterwards. Overall we had an amazing time!! I’ll be stopping by on my next trip through DC.

My partner and I had such a great experience here for an early Valentine's Day getaway. Pictured: Shrimp and Chicken Chorizo Penne Pasta. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. It was a great mixture of spicy and savory! Pictured: The Sangria and the Mojito. Both were delicious! We had a very intimate date, the environment is calm, relaxing, and inclusive to all!

When we walked in, there was a wait which was totally find. The person greating us didn't smile nor seemed friendly, but after we sat down everything was great. I had the smoked salmon Benedict which was pretty good, but one of my eggs came hard boiled and not poached, the other was perfect! I also had thr jalapeño cheddar grits which were a little dry but not bad!

Love the quirky vibes!
I ordered Monk Fish & it was mindblowingly good. Perfectly crisp, with fresh sauces. I also ordered a Margharita for happy hour. The Passionfruit was out so the bartender made me Strawberry version instead. Such comfy service.

We always love coming here for the atmosphere and food. I love the bookshop they have upfront with a great constantly updated book section. Usually when I come in they have new specials on the menu and this time they had the Oaxaca cheese omelet. It was very flavorful and fresh. We also tried a side of the jalapeño grits which were cheesy and a little bit spicy. The coffee specials were also very good we tried the big daddy. If you’re in Tacoma Park, definitely come here and give this place a try.

This is a 'must visit' while in DC. A booklovers dream. The service was amazing, Frank the host went above and beyond. Sweet Potato pancakes and lavender latte were on point. Best part was the message, the history, the artwork, and the storytelling.

Love coming here! The atmosphere, food, drinks and bookstore are all amazing! Have had so many things here, like the beet salad and the fried chicken. Both are phenomenal gluten free options. The mashed potatoes are an amazing gluten free side. Their weekend mimosas are a great deal too, they have a few great flavors. You can go wrong with any of them.

I’m a DC visitor and I love this place! Ate there for the first time in 2017 and was so excited to see this restaurant on my recent trip to DC! I love the bookstore, creative, unique atmosphere. The food is amazing and very consistent! I had the western omelette with jalapeño cheese grits for brunch! Attended a private event on site with various menu items from hummus to Brussels to crab cake bites…all delicious! Came back again and enjoyed the tomato soup and Brussels. The drinks were great too! Even shared a pecan pie with my friends. All in all…I love this place and will visit every time I come to DC!

Cute spot. See that you’re seated in the cute area, there’s also a more regular one.

It’s a very cozy and uncommon place with great food.

It is not the style of restaurants that I used to go to, it is a bohemian style, as if you were in a bookstore, but I let it surprise you and the food was very delicious as was the atmosphere. I definitely recommend the blackened salmon and the chocolate cake layer you can add vainilla ice cream and it will be the perfect dessert 🍨

The food was excellent! The place was very much and well decorated. The was ok, until we had a young man come over that was from Florence, SC .
He was very personable, attention, had high energy and polite. We really enjoyed speaking with him.
I would definitely recommend when you are in DC

I ordered the Cubano and my husband ordered the grilled chicken panini, and they were delicious! The bread was amazing, the chicken was extremely well-cooked, and the chipotle had flavor without being overwhelming!
