Food and Service is excellent! Best authentic Chinese dishes in town! Best freshest Chinese food I have eaten in many years. Very clean and well kept restaurant my only problem was it was very cold inside but the food was really hot and stayed hot throughout our meal from start to finish so me being chilly was soon forgotten. Service was quick and food was plentiful. I Highly recommend this place. I will be back. Who knew just simple salt and pepper dishes would be so very amazing!

The restaurant is always in top-notch order, a very clean and relaxed atmosphere. The staff members are always neat, clean, pleasant, ready to serve, there when you need them, and very polite. The menu has a multitude and a large variety of items to order, including vegan selections. The food is always hot, freshly prepared and reasonably priced. The taste is something you need to experience. Trust me, you will not be disappointed and return every time you are in Gainesville, FL. What more could you ask for.

We have been eating at Yummy House for over 5 years. We find the service to be exemplary at all times. We did take-out during the shut-down and they were always kind and on-time with our orders. We are happy to be back in person, where the staff take personal interest in you and make sure you are happy with your meal. Weekends are very busy, but they always get to everyone with a smile on their faces. We love the variety of food on the menu and are willing to try new things suggested by our server. Our favorites are the wonton soup, Bistro lo mein, Spicy Yummy chicken, and salt and pepper eggplant. The restaurant is quiet, nicely decorated, and the tables are spaced so you can have a pleasant meal. Don't miss the egg tarts for dessert!

The portions are very good for the prices. This was the best chinese food ive ever had honestly. I love they dont put onions in the fried rice- usually a special request is required. The orange chicken was also the best ive ever had.

This is one of the best restaurants in Gainesville! Each dish portion is big enough to share so this makes it a great restaurant to try with a group of friends. Word of warning one soup will feed like 5-8 people! Anything on the menu made with their black bean sauce will be delicious. This is one of their signature sauces. We had the shrimp and scallops with mushrooms in the black bean sauce and it did not disappoint! The House Rice is also a favorite of ours. Get a group of friends and enjoy trying new things!

It really is yummy! We went during dim sum time, where I planned to get a dish off the menu because I thought I didn’t like dim sum. Surprise! I chose the shrimp sticky rice and really liked it, as well as the shrimp dumplings.

I was greeted and shown to a table as I walked in the door. The waiter took my order as soon as I had reviewed the menu. The menu included a wide range of classic dishes. I ordered potstickers and a spicy fish and tofu pot with white rice. The food was delicious. The service was superb.

By far the best Chinese food in Gainesville. Huge portions, always delicious. The potstickers are my absolute favorite of any Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been in. Just don’t try and ask for substitutions or changes to things on the menu, it’s challenging to get any accommodations without a large up charge.

I went on a Saturday at 11 am, and they had plenty of seating available. The waitstaff was attentive. They have a few people that bring around the carts with different dim sum selections. The food was hot and delicious! I will be back and highly recommend trying this place for dim sum.

Excellent Chinese dishes with lots of flavor. Best egg drop soup I have ever tasted. The West Lake Beef soup is also delicious. The Hunan Beef was my favorite. The fried rice and XO beef is also great. My son had sweet and sour chicken that was really good as well.

I have been here for both dim sum and dinner multiple times, and I cannot say enough good things about this place, so i figured it was tome i write a good review. The portions are great for the price, everything has a unique and good flavor, and the staff obviously works very hard to make sure you get everything you need, especially during busy dim sum hours when they are calling in kitchen orders and wheeling the carts around at the same time. The food always tastes really fresh, and I have never been steered wrong by a suggestion from a waitor/waitress.

We had a reservation for 13 and they had the table ready. Lucy took care of our table. Her and the servers kept the drinks topped off. I was impressed when she already knew which parties were on separate checks. I ordered Salt and Pepper Eggplant and Fish with XO Sauce. They were both very well seasoned. The entrees do not come with rice, but it's only $1.00 per bowl. Lucy boxed up our food and even put it in a bag.

There are 2 types of Chinese restaurants in America; number one is the fast food takeout which uses a universal menu catering to the American palate (chop suey, chow mein, etc.) and number two is authentic Chinese cuisine designed for the dine-in experience. Yummy House is the latter, and specializes in dim sum dishes served by rolling carts.
You should go to Yummy House for dim sum. The Larry David “Curb Your Enthusiasm” test for judging an authentic Chinese restaurant is by seeing Chinese customers seated throughout the nearby tables and that was indeed the situation during my visit.
Recent Google reviews criticized Yummy House for their Orange Chicken and Lo Mein. These are dishes that are standard at Chinese-American takeout restaurants and should not be ordered here. If you want orange chicken then go to Panda Express; if you want to try authentic Chinese cuisine then order from the dim sum carts at Yummy House.
I lived in Hong Kong for 5 years; so I have some expertise with regard to good dim sum. I can tell you that the steamed BBQ pork buns* and shrimp dumplings* served at Yummy House are exactly the same as those served in Hong Kong.
I would also recommend the Fried Sticky Rice Pork Dumplings* and Pan-Fried Turnip Cake. For 2 or more people I suggest Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce.*

Is has been a long time since I've been here but it was worth it the food still amazing and very quick service price has gone up a little but what hasn't other than that I recommend this place 😀

I'm originally from California and now reside in Jax FL this is almost as close as you can get to California authentic Chinese food. Thank you yummy house from saving me a a 700$ trip to fly home .. but what I love the most is this calamari. It's crispy home made dough is great but it's the mixed greens of cilantro garlic and sliced onion leaves ... That make this dish amazing. You can put that heavenly mix on everything .. rice, noodles, the pork chop, shrimp I mean it!! But it doesn't stop there you have dim sum, pan fried noodles. I was a bit worried when I didnt see the restaurant near the oaks Mall. Locals gave me the new location and it's definitely bigger and a better move !! Thanks for the awesome food keep it coming .. as for what I ordered shrimp with walnuts Mongolian beef, panfried noodles , house fried rice, calamari, and pork chops all!!! Amazing!!!

As for service . Fast the guy refilled my drink always at half empty; this isn't Ruth's Chris so I don't expect them to box my food but they did.. fast friendly and they boxed my food come on, what Chinese place have you gone to lately and sat down at a table .. where they boxed your food???

Delicious Chinese cuisine in lively environment. But it is better to have reservations if you are going in a group!

Excellent. HUGE portions. Delicious food and great service. My favorite Chinese food in Central Florida. A must eat.

I love taking my daughter here when I visit her at school, the dim sum is very quick and hot, and the service is always respectful and efficient without rushing you out the door. The stuffed tofu and congee are my favorites, and my daughter always orders shrimp shu mai. Clean tables and booths too, always a great time.

Yummy house is always a favorite of mine. The salt and pepper chicken wings are AMAZING!!!
