Prohibition Pig - Brewery

Ok it is a little confusing if you are looking for lunch. The restaurant on the main street doesn’t open until 4pm. The brewery in the back has a great bar and has a limited lunch menu. I almost didn’t check out the brewery and would have missed out on a great lunch. The ribs were amazing. So tender, not too fatty and not over spiced. Their 3 BBQ sauces (hot/vinegary/sweet) were the perfect compliment. Beans were authentic, and OK, I’d probably skip the beans next time. The person next to me had the nachos with queso (not cheddar) and those looked great too. Very informal atmosphere as you’d expect from a BBQ joint that is also a working brewery. Clean bathroom.

An amazing stop to grab some lunch on our way to Ben & Jerry’s factory. Quite busy for lunch on the weekend, however wait time wasn’t long. We put our name in the waiting list and then head to their brewery, located in the building behind the restaurant, to grab some drinks while we waited.

I love the decorations inside, especially the whiskey wall behind the bar. Host and server were cooperative, since we had a stroller. They had a high chair ready when we got back to the restaurant.

For drink, we ordered the Bantam (American double IPA) and cider. Drinks were a good start before we ordered our entrees. For food, we ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of fries and sliced brisket from smoked meat section which came with pickles, slaw, and a roll. Foods were tasty and came out pretty quick.

Overall, would definitely recommend this place for lunch and come back when we’re around Vermont.

I loved this place. The staff were friendly and talkative, the food smelled outstanding (we didn't eat but were tempted), and the beers were decent. We tried six beers in total, with my favourite being the Piggy Brown.

If you are in Waterbury or driving through, it is 100% worth the stop!

Went for the beer stayed for the bluegrass!!Showed up incidentally got to enjoy an evening of live bluegrass, very animated live musicians performing inches from my table good time every Wednesday, check it out! Definitely not disappointing, and did I mention the beer? Solid craft beer selection along with a pub menu consisting of great BBQ

When you are looking for a tasty brew and some great bar food this is the stop. Portions are average but the taste is wonderful. The selection of sandwiches and appetizers is swell. Stop in for flavors of vermont on tap and a friendly bar service crew.

Love this place. Amazing food and really good beer. Brewery side has outdoor seating, high tops or sit at the bar.

We had the chopped pork and the brisket sandwich. Super delicious. We sat down and didn't realize you had to order at the counter, but we weren't in a hurry and our food was delicious.

Owner was phenomenal, beer was tasty. Definitely a local gem that everyone NEEDS to check out, love the pig decor. Special thank you for making my girlfriends day with those empty growlers.

Passing through and stopped for lunch, absolutely amazing. Brisket sandwich is to die for, throw in a Bantam or tow.

FYI closed Mon and Tue as of Sept 2023. Great spot! They have had Focal and Heady on draft for a couple weeks as of 9/1/2023. Their brisket is better then bacon. Phenomenal! As good as anywhere including KC, TX, NC.

This brewery was a great find on the way to Stowe! It’s a gem and worth visiting if you’re in the area.

We had a great time at the pig! It's definitely worth the visit if you love bbq. Our party of 6 was seated within 15 mins, and we ordered a ton of food. Ribs,brisket, pulled pork, and so much more. Nothing disappointed my taste buds. I am looking forward to our next visit. ✌

The food was delicious. It was unique in that you ordered at the bar and paid then a young man brought our food. The most delicious Cubano I have ever had other than in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 Will be returning on our next trip to Vermont

Fantastic food and friendly staff

We had the night's special, a portobello mushroom burger. My fiance and I both devoured ours. It was everything a burger should be. I usually add mustard and ketchup to my burgers, but this was so good, I was happy with the existing condiments. Stephanie and the team delivered excellent, timely and friendly service. This may become a twice monthly stop, as we live in Stowe/Waterbury about half the time.
