Very kind and friendly. We were in a out in less than 15 minutes. I highly recommend coming here instead of going to Alexandria city if you have the option. It is a smaller location, and there was no line, just a wait time for those who didn't have an appointment. But even without having an appointment, my wife and I were still in and out in less than 15 minutes. Still love this place.

Not sure why it has low reviews but all three people I interacted with were nice and helpful. Special thanks to the guy who understood the situation and took the time to teach me the fastest way to get the missing proof of address. Would have never thought of that myself.
The place would be even better if it could produce the plastic permit/license instead of sending it by mail, but I guess not all DMVs have the tools to print them.

Went to DMV for a VA license, process went smoothly, waited in line as I did not have an appointment. Was given full instructions from the information booth. Waited for my number to be called. When called promptly handed required documents that were required as I read online that I was to provide. Everything went smoothly. Went to DMV in the afternoon after lunchtime. About 50 to 60 people waiting at the DMV.

I was a walk-in and got right to a window at about 9 a.m.

I have been to a lot of DMVs in other states. This one is actually not a nightmare. The people working in the windows were smiling, seemed mostly happy to be there, and didn't seem mad at people for coming in. They were decorating for the holidays and seemed cheerful about it.

I was in and out in about 45 minutes doing multiple things - driver's license, registration and voter registration. Not a bad DMV at all!

Today dated 26 March 2024 that’s Tuesday. I had a chance to go to dmv Franconia branch for my motorcycle skills test or motorcycle driving test. I got my ticket by 1.15 but due to lot of rush I kept on waiting uptill 4..00 pm which was which was annoying I spoke to manager of branch he did accept and apologized that I got no service uptill 4.00 then after a while an examiner named Mr Nida came and asked me to bring my motorcycle to testing site. As my bike a cruiser bike handle bar is too big and it weighs almost more than 700 lbs and a test for cone zigzag became a severe problem for me to manuover this big bike but the examiner gave me 3 chances to do that worst tough cone zigzag test. Rest of other tests I handled easily. I was dead sure I won’t pass but when examiner told me said congratulations you passed test. I couldn’t believe my ears. I have 5 star for this examiner Mr Nida a very nice decent humble patient person. Unfortunately dmv agents or employees reputation regarding customer service is not good but there are some nice jewels or angels like this examiner Mr Nida. I congratulate commissioner and branch manager to have such a nice person in their branch.keep it up Mr Nida you are great

The DMV worker who helped me today was phenomenal. In and out of there in 15 minutes (with an appointment) despite needing three different services. Can't recommend this DMV enough!

VA DMV has 8mproved greatly- since a few years ago. We were met with friendly service and although attendant was newer, the processes needed were handled with team assistance.

Sindy was amazingly patient and completely took care of me and even waited for me to come back when I had to get missing documents. She was kind and so was the initial desk personnel I was issued a ticket from. It was a little bit of a wait but worth it being able to get everything squared away by Sindy. I wish everyone’s visits to the dmv were this easy so again, shout out to SINDY!!!

Stopped by on Monday. Showed up at 7:55 with about 20 people already in line. When the doors opened at 8, the line had doubled. Only one lady checking people in so that took about 17 minutes. Waited 6 minutes for my number to be called and was out by 8:33. Couldn't be happier. Much better than the DMV Select down the street a mile or so.

Making an appointment on line saved me so much time and I didn’t have to wait in line! My appointment was at 8 am for a real ID, and done by 815 am! I recommend making an appointment on line.

Not bad at all!! I was amazed by the speed, professionalizm of the lady helping me and how easy it was this time to renew my DL comparing to previous experiences i had at other different DMVs in the past😂 45 minutes all together, including wait time and time at the window. I did not have an appt, just walked in around 11:30 (lunch time). Definitely will be coming back to this DMV for future needs. Great job!

It was a wonderful experience. Everyone was friendly and willing to help. The service was fast.

So I had to renew my driving license and could do it in person only. Made an appointment online an evening before the date I needed to go. They had availability unlike other DMVs in Alexandria. Arrived 20 mins earlier. The guard was extremely nice, trying to assist. I had to wait until 10 mins before my appointment time, so I did. Then I scanned the QR code, hanging on the door as you enter. Checked in and 1 minute after I was invited to the window. Received an sms text on my phone. The lady at the desk was extremely nice & quick. I was out of there in 10 minutes. When I tried to check in through the desk, I was told that I’ll have to wait for an hour to get assistance if I check in through them. So, presuming, that is the wait time for those without appointment. Highly recommend making an appointment. It’s so easy and saves time. Just an awesome DMV! 5 stars!!! Great job!! 👏👏👏

Short wait for walk-in receptionist. Got my ticket, sat down, was called in a minute. Very friendly, informative, helpful DMV rep. Great visit. This was 3 PM on a Wednesday.

Quick and helpful! I booked my appointment online for the same day to renew my license, arrived 5 minutes early, scanned a QR code to check in, and was done in 15 minutes! I was missing a document, and the person at the counter helped me out by accepting my document via email and printing it out for me.

Needed to renew driver's license and provide proof of residence after 7 years overseas with the U.S. Government. Walk-in, no appointment at Grovedale (CSC location 614) Intake reviewer confirmed adequate documentation including passport, existing DL, utility bills, lease, and USPS Official Change of Address card. Waited till my number was called. Went to assigned CSR who processed my Real ID DL with Motorcycle license. Also confirmed auto registration, insurance, and voter registration. A very satisfying experience. Kudos to how the Supervisors coached this Teller on nuances of handling multiple factors and requirements. Also job well done by my Teller, DMVCL6. 45 min in and out. Will update after I receive license within 10 biz days.

Was first in line 10 minutes before they opened (Friday) as a walk in. Already had my paperwork filled out and was called to a window before I even sat down. Was able to get my driver's license, vehicle registration and tags, and an easy pass in 43 minutes from start to finish. If you have your paperwork filled out ahead of time, and all the required documents with you, it's a very easy process. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I just want to give my very thanks to the DMV representative Sheri. Everyone knows that walk-in appointments can be time consuming which I wasn’t surprised that I had to wait to be called up. I told her my three issues that I had to fix and she was patient and extremely nice with my situation. Sheri, you deserve some recognition 💖

The fastest I have ever gone through a DMV. I showed up about 15mins before my appointment and was out before my actual appointment time. I mean where has this DMV been all this time. I wish the keep up this pace and they all can work like this. Whatever the case this was a good experience for me. First time at this one.

The DMV often gets a poor reputation, suggesting long lines, long waits and the need to return with additional paperwork. Not so with this DMV. I went into a room half full of people seated. I was next in line. The lady used a computer to verify my problem and determine the best solution. She then gave me a number, which was the next one called. The next lady again used the computer and colleagues to figure out that my regustration was still good for another year, even though the stickers on the car said 2021. Apparently, someone had stolen the stickers off the tags..$4 later, I had a copy of the registration, which had been misplaced, and two copies of the months and year stickers. I was out the door 30 minutes after arriving. Excellent service!!
