The perfect camping spot for riding the Empire State Trail. The park was clean, had lots of space, and lock operator was friendly. There were no bathroom facilities on-site during my visit, but the Stewart’s 5 minutes down the road has clean public bathrooms.

Nice place to camp while biking/hiking/boating along the canal. Fairly quiet, but can hear the interstate.

On a mini bike tour with the family. We stopped here and camped. The lock had a couple of boats going through it. It can be a little noisy the expressway nearby and with the trains on the other side of the canal. But, free camping. Lots of goose droppings. There is a peacock as well.

Great spot to stop and camp when riding the canal trail. Easy to get to town, flat ground, picnic tables and charcoal grills. And a resident peacock! Watch out for the goose poop though.

A beautiful spot to sit and have lunch, read a book, or simply enjoy some outside air! There are picnic tables and grills so you could easily have a gathering down by the locks if you wanted. I enjoy watching the boats come and go through the lock.

The lock master was very helpful. Our boat lost power in the lock, and he help us find a mechanic and took us into town to buy supplies. Absolutely world class!
