The Fort Plain Museum & Historical Park

Another small museum with a focus on the Revolutionary war. Lots of info on the battles fought in the Mohawk valley. Nice exhibits of native American artifacts. Drive up to the site of the original fort. Nice view of the river. Well worth spending a few hours.

Great museum on the history the small town of Fort Plains took in the revolutionary War. Would check out! 9 dollars for general admission

Much more than meets the eye from the NY State Thruway! A gem of a site, both in the stone house museum and the marked fort site on the hill above the house. Artifacts from many of the Indian/ British/ Tory raids on the Mohawk Valley settlers in this Palatine region. Helped my friend and I plan our day to other sites such as Stone Arabia Battlefield and Church, Palatine Church, Fort Klock and other small "forts" along Rt 5. Amazing bookstore. A very knowledgeable and friendly docent too.

Christmas At The Fort is always a great event. Awesome munchies, friendly people, and terrific displays. Also the opportunity to talk with several authors of historical works.

I spent about a whole day there with a personal tour guide and local historian Mr. Peter Couser. Only his mother is more knowledgeable. Both shared a deep love and respect for this country and especially the revolutionary war period. Go, see, agree.

Interesting placard, got there too early and didn't get to go in the museum, but the outside stuff was well described, very dog friengly.
