Countryside

Stopped in for lunch on our way home traveling through and just made it as the local church crowd started to arrive. Place became full which is a good sign. There were plenty of servers and we were met with a friendly young lady that took care of us. We enjoyed the fried pickles appetizer. I always try to get something unique while traveling and trying new places so I went for the smoked brisket grilled cheese and fries. My word...it was good. Brisket was perfect. Tender, perfect smoke, and a generous portion of meat. Fries were top 5 best I've had. Loved the cut and batter on the fry. Really good. My husband got the country fried steak, potatoes, and okra. Sadly it wasn't as good. Okra frozen style not fresh or cornmeal battered. Potatoes were just standard. Steak was a nice big portion but seemed frozen not house made. Which is pretty normal, but fresh would have been amazing.
Atmosphere was ok. Little cramped. Was very close to the folks eating around us, but that's ok. They all knew each other in this small town.
Restroom was teeny, but ok.
I would definitely go back again if ever traveling through.

Countryside gets a 5 star from me! My wife and I both had the catfish, it comes with 2 sides. I got fries and slaw for the sides and she got onion rings and slaw. The catfish was cooked to perfection, the meal comes with some delicious hushpuppies also! The fries and onion rings were awesome also. The portions was more than fair and priced fair too. Our waitress was quick, very nice and kept our sweet tea topped off. I'm very impressed with Countyside, we will be back soon! Great job Countyside, thank you!

My husband ordered a fish plate .He said it was delicious , he said hush puppies were to small.I had a ribeye steak special with salad and baked potato .It all had a wonderful flavor.My only complaint was ribeye was a little tough and alot of grissel .Our waitress was on top of things.The cheese curds were great.It was all very tasty and we will definitely be back.Our bill was $60.00 or so.The bathrooms , dining room and kitchen area were clean.Try this place! It's a local favorite. Very friendly folks.

The food was good country cooking. Our waitress was spot-on, always there when we needed her. It was Mother's Day, but all the ladies working were keeping up with crowds. Hope the mothers got off early to celebrate with their mothers and/or children.

By far my favorite restaurant of this vacation. Very good.

I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and a bowl of chili.

Other than my own this is the best meatloaf I've had in a long time. I was very concerned about ordering chili this far east. No worries, it was really good.

The joint was very busy by 12:15. That says a lot.

Wow! Sweet find in an off the beaten path location. Wholesome menu, lunch size options, healthy sides. Delicious food, friendly service. I had the catfish and my bf had the meatloaf. All Awesome. Will definately eat here again!

Great experience. Lilly our server was terrific and the food was amazing and hot. I would definitely recommend Countryside Restaurant. All of the staff was really nice and helpful.

Best meatloaf I’ve ever eaten. 2 very thick slices that were meatloaf perfection. Instead of ketchup on top, which I don’t like, this had something more akin to a bbq sauce that has other savory ingredients in it.
I had onion rings as a side which appeared to be hand breaded and were hot and crispy. My other side was the pinto beans. They were ok, nothing fabulous about them, and were on the bland side. I’m taking a box home with enough left overs for another complete meal. The server was great and food was fast to come out. A lot of locals were here, which says a lot.

We were traveling into town to see where our MasterCraft boat was made and stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. Food outstanding and homemade, service superb, atmosphere fantastic. Best chicken salad on a croissant I have had in a very long time. My husbands Philly cheesesteak seasoned with peppers, onions and mushroom also tasty. Everything is fresh and made with care.

Food was generous portions flavorful and a reasonable price. Friendly staff and great outdoor area. Check it out.

Best patty melt I've had in years!!! I ate half before I remembered to take a picture. Everything else was great too. If we are ever passing through again, we will definitely be back.

Server was nice, young and pretty didnt effect her ability's. Food for all three of us was even better than we exspected. House salad was so big i stole some from my Dad as my Mom helped herself to some Meatloath from my plate. I'd have repaid for some of her Country Fried Steak but as anticipated, i'm eating my left overs now for supper. I wanted to get the tip since they treated but Mom says "we already tipped-GENERIOUSLY!

very good little restaurant, the prices are very decent and the food is amazing with a lot of choices to choose from, definitely one of my favorite places to go for lunch

A very good place to eat.I used to eat there when I was doing HVAC in the area. So I stopped in for their catfish when we were out that way and it was just as good.

It's an easy place to miss and/or pass by, but don't. The food is great. I got the brisket grilled cheese sandwich and was not disappointed. The brisket is lean and tender. Get the sriracha mayo - it adds a small kick, but it isn't overwhelming. The catfish is good size portion and delicious as well.

This restaurant holds the record in my book for the best fish sandwich. Everything I've had here was great.

... Add the Reuben sandwich to that. Amazing!

Great little place to eat! Very clean, great service, excellent food and beautiful photography inside! Oh, the banana pudding was AH-mazing as well!!
