We purchased a new copier from them for the sole purpose of scanning large documents to files and email, to become a paperless office. We explained this purpose to the sales person who sold us on this machine with a large capacity document feeder, and told us there is "one touch" scan to email. We explicitly explained that we did not intend to use the copier for general office printing, and that each person already has their own printer, and explicitly informed them we did not want to change how we handle our printing. We also declined a toner maintenance plan because our sole purpose was scanning, although there may be minor incidental copying. Concerns began on the day the machine was delivered. Person who installed the machine told us they needed access to our computers, which we provided, understanding this would facilitate the scan to files or emails. Come to find out, the person installed printing software on the computers and set the copier as everyone's default printer. Exactly what we said we did NOT want, both during the sales process and when he started the installation! Once we realized what he'd done after he left, we had to reconfigure all our computer printing settings. Other issues arose during installation when he demonstrated how to use the scan to email. While the system calls it "one touch scan to email," you actually have to go through multiple steps after selecting the setting scan to a pre-configured email. Specifically, you have to select the person twice, and confirm it, in 2 different screens. We've worked with one touch scan to email, and this is not one touch! Issues don't end there. Although we purchased a large document feeder to facilitate scanning large documents to email (again, our sole purpose in making this purchase and discussed with the sales rep), we receive an error message every time we try to scan large documents to email. They've subsequently informed us that we either need to scan in small batches and/or must compress the file when we scan it. When I tried to explain to the person who just called us the frustration we feel when this was supposed to be one touch scan to email, and that we purchased the large capacity document feeder so that we wouldn't have to split the documents into small parts like this, the person became dismissive and rude, repeatedly interrupted me even while I asked him to let me explain our frustrations, and stated that a large capacity document feeder doesn't mean you can scan large documents. Who knew, since this was our sole purpose in purchasing it, and was what they sold us to meet this purpose! This person condescendingly told me they've told us before that we need to compress the file, and started asking me about toner monitoring, so they can sell me toner we don't need, rather than letting us explain our frustrations so we can come up with reasonable solutions for our scanning issues. We were so upset by the rude, dismissive and condescending attitude of the person who called us that we had to terminate the call. Buyer beware!
