Avant Garde salon

This was my first time visiting, and I could not be happier with my experience!! I have very curly hair and needed a haircut, and Beth was amazing at not only catering to my needs but also giving me advice on how to better manage such tough curls. She even insisted on blow drying and flat ironing my hair at no extra charge to ensure the cut was pristine. Definitely recommend her!!

Awesome as always. Shawna is a top notch stylist. The salon is impeccable and goes the extra mile to make you comfortable. Bonus points for superb customer service and services available. Michael and Donovan do a great job with grace and ease as they manage the customer flow at the desk and take care of the needs and requirements of the customer flow (Michael appeared in front of me with a much needed cup of tea. I really appreciated that!). Great atmosphere! Thank you Avant Garde!

My stylist, Jessica, is talented and friendly. She hears me when I try to explain the look I'm going for, and delivers flawlessly. I highly recommend her.

My only complaint recently was that during checkout after my appointment last week, the person at the desk didn't explain that I was tipping not only on the service, but on the expensive products I purchased. I realized this when I got home and posted a 4-star review in which I recommended Jessica, and explained my frustration with check-out process.

Within 24-hours of posting my review, I received a call from Donovan, their Guest Relations Manager. She acknowledged my feedback and explained how the salon is working with the staff to ensure this does not happen again in the future.

From there, Donovan credited back the amount I over-payed and, of course, won me over. I changed my review and will not hesitate to buy more product there in the future.

We always have a great experience at Avant Garde! From the friendly front desk staff, to the clean spaces and great coffee, it's all around a top-notch salon. We see Jessica for our haircuts, and she is very welcoming and does a great job listening to what we want. Prices are fair too. We will continue to return to Avant Garde!

Brittani is a great listener and my hair comes out surprisingly what I wanted in color and cut every time! The receptionist is knowledgeable and I love that too!

Bronson is amazing! She is very talented and just knows what to give me every time. I have very thick and coarse hair that I can not just trust to anyone. She is an intuitive hairdresser that really knows hair, how it flows and how to cut it to make me and you beautiful :)

I couldn’t be happier with Ronnie. She is the best stylist I’ve ever had. She actually listens and takes her time to understand exactly what you want. She’s very professional and does the best job with color and with cuts. She’s easy to talk to and kind. She has been my go to stylist for about 6 years now even though I drive over an hour to see her. Donavan at the front desk is also amazing. He makes you feel very welcomed and relaxed. The salon is pretty and clean inside as well.

Not only is their professional expertise the best in Gainesville bar none; but they offer clients a warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere for a multitude of services. Avante Garde has been my go to place for years now for hair cuts and styling, weekly massages, and occasional facials. I have NEVER been disappointed by the talented staff at Avant Garde!!!!

I didn't know where to get my hair done and I searched for places that could do less-traditional/ daring styles and this was it! I love getting shaggy mullets, pixie cuts, and chelsea cuts and neon hair colors and it's difficult to find a salon that caters to that and this is the place! Brittney Robinson was my stylist and she did a PHENOMENAL job with my hair. I have very coarse, thick hair and she gave me the scene-girl hair of my dreams.

Jessica did an amazing job and this was my first time getting bangs. I’ve never gotten so many compliments in my LIFE on my hair and to say she did well is an understatement! Highly highly recommend her she is so sweet!❤

I had a fantastic experience at Avant Garde. All the staff I interacted with were sweet, polite and courteous. My stylist Beth, especially, was kind and considerate, even guiding me gently on how my hair should be styled. She also answered all my questions, helped me understand my hair type and how to care for it.

Brittany K always does a great job on my hair. She has learned my needs for work, family life, personality and hair goals and hasn’t led me astray, I trust her process. The staff are always friendly and of course the Aveda products are incredible.

Excellent color & cut. My hair has been guided back to healthy & feels great. The color had beautiful depth & variance. The salon is friendly with great products.

The Standard is easily the best apartment building in Gainesville. It offers numerous very convenient amenities. Personally my favorites are the pool and the golf simulator as I think it is a great thing to do when people come over.

I love this place. The staff is all so friendly and amazing at what they do. My appointments can sometimes take all day because I book multiple services at once and they are always so welcoming and accommodating. I’ve been going to Jessica for a few years now and she’s so easy to talk to and talented at her job.
