It is a lovely cafe/bakery with a great selection of sweet and savory baked goods. I purchased a meat-filled pastry that my husband enjoyed. It was so big he made two meals of it. I bought a delicious pastry/donut hybrid with blueberry preserves. The berries tasted very fresh and tart. The pastry was light and spongy.
I do want to share an observation. The scanning machine used to pay with a debit card has a HUGE keypad. It is excellent if you have trouble seeing and using small keys, but it is not great for keeping your PIN code private. It's not even possible without hugging your arm and head around the whole contraption to prevent others from seeing your PIN as you enter it. Just wanted to share my perspective.
I do recommend Bonnie's Bakery for wonderful fresh baked goods.

I stepped inside on a dark and stormy night. It was mid-January, the very mild January of 2024. I was walking the town because I had just visited the bank on foot.

I was the only one there on such an atmospheric yet grisly evening. The many tables sat vacant, and the television in the corner was inviting but almost alien for it. I forget if anyone was even hanging out at the bar next door.

Promptly, I wasted ten minute of the cashier's time before buying an Oreo cupcake-- I'd felt bad if I only window-shopped. Pretty good cupcake, I gotta say.

I feel bad for little bakeries like these. They make quality baked goods. It's just that too many consumers don't have taste anymore. Just the other day, my father complained about local prices. He'd become so used to and entitled to the seeming "deal" that a whole package of cookies from the supermarket brought by comparison to a two dollar cookie from places like these.

"There's no way I can support my local businesses. I don't make enough money to do that. I don't have the patience to shop around. I don't have time, and I don't even think about atmosphere. How can you expect me to ever bother? Especially when their prices are so high? Who do they think they are?"

It's always a very hard conversation. Because I've known some people in this town who are like that, who think they're the new hotness and overcharge for everything. That's a real small town moment.

But that doesn't mean that's every story. How can a bakery survive in this world where convenience is just barely pulling a fast one over luxury? I explained to him at length how difficult it had to be to run a bakery. I doubt he wanted to hear that. Sourcing goods, making revenue and meeting sales, and contending everyday with the philosophy behind consumer expectations. This sort of thing fascinates me.

The problem is... literally, you have to taste the difference, and if you don't know what you have to gain by looking to taste this difference, you won't bother thinking about it. You'll just scarf down your treat and take it for granted, like many people have been subconsciously taught to. That's when you're wasting your money.

The ethically-sourced sugar, the home-made baking, it might still be sugary and sweet and not all that good for you, but at least it's not the same synthetic test tube garbage that's always been shoved down our throats since we were children.

Think about it. Normal baked goods have a rather limited shelf life. But does an Oreo ever really go bad? Think of the preservatives. Think of all the lazy corporate shortcuts taken at our expense. If the government couldn't save you from Disney's copyright manhandling, what makes you think the FDA will save you from junk food?

Maybe when I have more cash to throw around myself, I'll stop by here more often. Not just to support a local business, but to enjoy some of the quality snacks they have here. These treats definitely seem like the kind worth remembering. I can't speak for everyone, but I like to remember what I eat.

I just got a raspberry cheesecake and a capachino to go, and that is the best coffee I have had in a while. Not bitter at all and no sugar needed to mask the taste.

This bakery is tucked in a small plaza with plenty of parking.
I made a huge mistake and ordered the wrong cupcakes at another bakery, however, Bonnie’s bakery was very accommodating.
They had the cupcakes ready in less than 24 hours.
I ordered some strawberry cupcakes, all gluten free.
The cupcakes smelled amazing.
The buttercream was yummy, I just wish the cupcakes were a little more moist.
Overall a great experience and I would recommend.
I would be back to try the regular cupcakes as they were screaming at me at pick up.

Ordered gluten-free cupcakes for my wife’s birthday. Everyone was shocked they were gluten free….Dense and moist cake and the frosting was not overly sweet.

Visited Bonnie’s on a lunch break after following her on social media for a while and seeing how good her treats looked. Unfortunately, it was ultimately quite a let down, and in my personal opinion, they’re going to have to do a lot of improvements to stay in business long-term. At first glance, it’s definitely impressive to see the displays, and the cafe is nicely decorated. However, it didn’t take long for us to realize this was going to be a painful experience. I ordered their chicken wrap from the specials and a few desserts, and there was no one in front of me in line or any other orders that they were preparing at the time. Despite that, it took such a long time to get everything and check out, mostly because the staff member was struggling to ring out the chicken wrap special because she didn’t know the price of it. I brushed this aside though, and my mom and friend proceeded to order a bunch of desserts to take home. I was the only one who ordered a lunch item and began to regret it when it took half of my lunch break to receive it. Maybe it’s on me for not asking, but there was no description of what was on the chicken wrap, and if I had known I would have asked for it without the peppers. The best way I can describe it is that it was very “wet” and became sloppy fast. The chicken strips were cut abnormally long and it was kind of difficult to eat, so I only ate half and figured I would move onto dessert to see if they could redeem themselves. I’ll note that nothing is labeled for the desserts, so what I’m going to call a “chocolate mousse square” was okay, but didn’t wow me. My friend had a stale blueberry scone, and my mom’s pistachio croissant that she was so excited to try was very dried out. She also told me the baklava was the worst she’s ever had. I had already bought a cupcake to bring to another friend at this time, and was later embarrassed when they said it was dry and seemed either made from a cake mix or had been frozen at one point. When my mom ordered a tea from the menu, they told her they didn’t have it, so she opted for water instead, which was fine. However, when she went to check out, she noticed that she was charged $2.00 for the water, which was literally from the tap and in a mason-jar style glass. This was not from a bottle, and we were shocked and honestly appalled that they’re greedy enough to charge for tap water. When my mom questioned this with the girl at the register, the girl checked with the owner and came back out saying yes, the charge still stands. That really sealed the deal for all of us, especially because the owner didn’t even come out to discuss this with my mom herself. Clearly corners are being cut here, even their chairs are so rickety we questioned if we were going to fall when we sitting down. I’m still in shock from how quickly this whole experience went downhill when we had such high expectations. I truly have a passion for supporting local businesses and hate writing reviews like this, but this was one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had in a while.

I had ordered a cake and they told me it was freshly made. Later during the day, when we ate it, we noticed the cake was extremely dry, and hard, definitely not fresh. For the crazy ridiculous price, I would expect to get a freshly made cake when promised. In conclusion, the cake ended up in the garbage because we could barely eat it. I felt like I was eating sand paper. I don’t recommend, especially considering the price.

First and last time there. Came in for lunch with my daughter and her friend. Girl behind the counter had zero familiarity with the menu. I asked for two different teas that were on their menu screen- claimed they didn't have them, or she didn't understand what I wanted. So i asked for water. It was brought in a mason jar with mostly ice and a couple sips of tap water. When I went up to pay and get some baked goods to go home, she charged me $2.00 for water. I asked- you charge for tap water? This was not a bottle of spring water or anything. This was a glass full of mostly ice. The girl went to "ask her boss". She came back and said the charge stood. I said well tell your boss this will be the last time I'll be here. Even the girl seemed embarrassed honestly. I felt kind of sorry for her because she clearly didn't know the menu or how to do much of anything (I felt like I could have jumped in behind the counter and helped out better). My daughter's wrap was soggy and disgusting, the scones were dried out and old. If you need to charge $2.00 for tap water, you have to be pretty greedy. Considering how dead it was in there when we walked in at lunch hour, I'd say their time is limited.

Stopped because I saw so many people in town making a fuss (maybe because they're something new) but I was very unimpressed. I ended up ordering three cupcakes and what was called a croissant. The cupcakes while super moist, almost too moist tasted very manufactured almost like a cake mix thats been undercooked. The croissant, I should have known better as it was slathered in frosting / some kind of topping again very manufactured . True croissants have a light airy buttery texture but these more resembled Doctored up Pillsbury crescent rolls covered and filled with glop. The place has a nice clean atmosphere and they offer breakfast items which is nice but odd given Jimmy's is right nextdoor. I was hoping for something truly from scratch but while the taste was ok, it definitely wasn't worth the hype.
