Favorite park to go to relax and watch the sunset. Recently remodeled the playground for kids to play. Open space for picnics and enjoying the scenery. Well kept and clean. Late at night, there are occasionally shady people, but if you leave them alone they don't bother. Definitely recommend this park to relax and have fun!

Just a perfect park in the city. Beautifully planned and designed, in a way that’s somehow calming, well maintained, safe. My toddler and eight-year-old have an equally great time here.

Kalorama Park in Northwest Washington DC is a wonderful place for families to visit. It has a great playground for kids of all ages, including larger play structures for older children. The park also has nice open spaces to walk around and spend quality time with family. A highlight is the carousel, which is sure to delight kids. There is ample parking available, making it easy to access the park. With playground equipment, open green space, and fun attractions like the carousel, Kalorama Park is a fantastic place for families to gather and enjoy time together in Northwest DC. The park provides a peaceful yet engaging outdoor environment for parents and children alike right in the city.

It's a beautiful, well maintained park in a central location. Two different enclosed smaller parks for children although no distinct dog park. It's a lovely place for a picnic or a quick break from the daily grind.

I live 2 blocks from this park. I have spent countless evenings relaxing after work on the grass, or I bring a beach chair. It has basketball courts, 2 areas for children (one for toddlers, one for a bit older children), grassy area, benches (the benches are almost always under the sun instead of under a shade, which is too bad) and 2 picnic tables that are usually occupied. (One of the picnic tables is of wood, it's comfortable, and it's under the shade of a tree; the other one is of cement, very uncomfortable, and it sits under the scorching sun). My friends in the neighborhood have organized birthday parties for their children; they go early to reserve the good picnic table and we all have a blast. There is a private area for the neighborhood that is kept under lock; inside are a few plots for gardening that are assigned by lottery every year; and there is also a composting center. I participate in the composting and it's a great resource to have close to home. Group activities (apart from birthday parties) are controlled. A friend went with her capoeira group to do a class in the open park and they were told they needed a permit for groups of more than 10 persons. However, my other friends who celebrated their children's birthday parties had more than 10 persons and nobody approached them to say anything, so who knows what the rules are. There is a community center in the Park that I have never seen open or doing any activities. Some volunteers have been making a special garden East of the basketball court, to avoid erosion, and they planted beautiful flowers and named it the Jardin de las Mariposas (Butterfly Garden). Gorgeous. Some people go in swimming suits to get tanned lying on the grass and it doesn't seem to be a problem. Nearby you have Street Market where you can buy food (I like fresh cut fruit) to eat in the park; and some other shops that sell sandwiches and wraps or whatever, so it's easy to do a picnic here. The park is absolutely amazing, I love living close to it.

It is a nice small park with a nice playground area for kids with a fence. because the park itself doesn’t have fences. it is also a very nice place to walk your dog, or to go for a picnic. there’s also a basketball court, I saw people playing volleyball there too in summer.

Such a fantastic place. Enough space to where different areas engender different feelings and activities. The playground is at a distance from the court which is away from the benches and so on... You can return many times and have different experiences. Lovely place to meet a friend and walk a furry family member. 🙏🏻🐕

Our daughter’s favorite nearby playground, which she refers to as the rubber slide park. Unlike most DC parks, the little kids tend to stay within the little kid playground, so 5 and up kids get the big kid playground to themselves. When open, the restrooms and indoor facilities are fairly well cared for.

Deceptively large. The Washington D.C. area is gorgeous in its lush natural state where the landmarks and memorial statues and buildings are not taking their place prominently. This park is among many and yet distinct as a hidden gem nestled in the urban residential district in the dwellings zone.

Great green space with loads of grassy areas, bench seating, a very popular playground, and a myriad of shade trees for the hotter days. Bring a blanket and relax in the fresh air surrounded by some amazing architecture and legacy homes. Chipmunks and squirrels will greet you!

This set of playgrounds is exactly the kind of park to take the whole family out. This triangle is amazing with it's lawn, benches and rec center. The basketball courts are maintained reasonably well and I really enjoy coming to this semi-shaded park!

Great place for play dates with your kids. My grandson had a blast, honestly the children and parents are receptive to other children. A young man saw that I was putting my grandson on the seesaw. It was awesome. Genuinely a great place for family fun.

Neighborhood park with great late day sun. Recently renovated with new playground equipment (two areas: toddlers and bigger kids), benches, and concrete pacers. There's also two basketball courts, two picnic tables, and plenty of grassy space to put down a blanket. This park is also popular with the neighborhood dogs, though they are mostly kept on leash. There's a community garden here too.

Very nice and pretty location in DC with interesting looking buildings nearby, and a little neighborhood garden plot. Unfortunately, space in the garden is limited, and there is a long waiting list for each little plot. Also, parking can be quite a problem in the area, so it is best to find alternative transportation to a car.
