This is a great skate park for locals and tourists as well my son loves to skateboard and was a little nervous to skate with the local crowd. The group of guys there were all nice and welcoming for him to get out and skate. We ended up going 3 times this past week.

Do not come here; go to North Carolina in the summer. It’s cooler and the city won’t force you to rent their beach chairs for $20 per chair per day. According to Omni Hotels the city won’t let Omni help their guests set up Omni’s umbrellas on the beach, rather the city wants you to rent their inflationary priced chairs and umbrellas and they have employees to set you up. Omni employees are not allowed by the city to ‘work’ on the beach. Going to NC next time.

As a new homeowner in Hilton Head, we mailed a check to this office for an annual beach pass. The check was returned and when I called I was told it was because my vehicle was a company owned car. When I explained that I was 100% owner I was told that this did not matter. We decided to visit Islander Beach Park for the first time. It was our understanding that this park was like every other one on the island where to pay to park without the annual pass. The security officer waived us in when we told her that we had an HHP decal on our vehicle. She was distracted because she was talking to another person at the time. Once inside we found no pay stations so we thought that we were OK based on the conversation with the security guard. We were there about an hour only to find out that our vehicle had been towed. After several dead end phone calls we ended up calling the Sheriffs office who fortunately told us who the towing company was. The towing company said that they were closed but would have one of their employees meet us. $200 cash or a money order was what we needed to pay the towing company in order to get our vehicle back. The Uber Ap did not work inside the park so my wife (who has medical issues) and I had to walk out to the road in order to make contact. Good thing we had our phones with us. Our Uber driver was concerned due to the sketchy area where the tow lot was and the difficulty in finding it. This place was more of a junkyard than a towed storage lot. After well over an hour in 90+ degree heat, we made it home dehydrated because our water was in the vehicle. Code enforcement has culpability in this matter as we were told that we could enter this park. Shameful. You need a reexamination of your policies. I wonder how you might view this had it happened to your parents or family member. Government was established for the people but we did not feel that way today.

I visited this resort with a friend and her family while we where here us and a few other family’s where treated “differently” and blamed each one of us for noise when the other rooms were asleep and my was dead silent watching a movie this was absolutely ridiculous, uncalled for, and disgusting. Will not ever be back.

They change the rules depending on their mood. A complete circus! No regard for anyone's time but their own.
