Grandview

This place has been a great staple for people to walk and explore before there were trails in Beckley. It has a gorgeous rhododendron section blooming that peaks in mid-May. I loved walking around and reading the signs that had out about historic or scientific stuff regarding Grandview or something within it. This place is close to the amphitheater, so if you come to watch a show, this is a great stop before or after to explore.

Great spot! We drove a little out of our way to swing by this place. Definitely worth it! We enjoyed the little trails. The rocks were fun. The best part is the view. It’s truly epic! They have a great viewing deck. Very safe and perfect for the whole family!

A small visitors center. The main attraction though is the grandview overlook. A short trail that takes you to the horsebend of the river below.

Went here for the famous Grandview overlook and it was such an amazing experience. There are a ton of trails for you to explore, with a wide range of difficulty. But as the name states, the Grandview is just beautiful and breathtaking.

To get to the overlook, there is a parking lot close by to the entrance and its basically a short walk. If you wanted to explore more areas, there are signs with different trails for you to explore. It all loops back.

Beautiful view from all view points to overlook the mountains and rivers! Great family activities in the visitor center including playground, picnic area, hiking trails, volleyball and other activities area. Great family trip in this park 😊

A darling little park! It’s a little out of the way from the main hiking areas of New River Gorge NP, but Grandview has lovely trails of its own and my favorite view of the river.

I really enjoyed the outlook and beautiful trails. There are lots of cool places to explore. We were climbing all over the place exploring caves and stuff. There's a nice park for the kids also with a playset, swings, volleyball court. There were other places to check out that we didn't see during our visit, do I would say this place is a good place to explore or relax all day long. The deers are so tame here they were within 5 ft and never ran away.

Breathtaking views from the overlook. Beautiful park with lots of trails. The walk to the overlook is short if you don't want to hike the trails. A must see in West Virginia.

Beautiful views and easily accessible. Plenty of parking and open space to go for a casual walk. Trails are also available for an easy hike or more challenging trek across rocky and steep terrain. There is also an amphitheater for outdoor plays.

Grandview used to be a WV State Park until 2020 when it was incorporated into the New River Gorge National Park system. As a result, Grandview’s popularity has increased over the last two years as tourist flock to the 63rd national park located in southern West Virginia.

Our hike on Tunnel Trail took us down over the hill just to the right of the Grandview Main Overlook. Not too far into the trail we started to see large, sweeping rock formations. The path taking us through the golden trees definitely confirmed fall had settled in the Beaver, WV area.

As we worked our way down and around the rock formations, we quickly realized how Tunnel Trail got its name. Tucked away in the midst of the large boulders were tunnel like passages. Several had been roped off, but this tunnel was open for hikers to explore.

Tunnel Trail is a quick half-mile loop that is rated as “easy” by the AllTrails hiking app. That is probably an accurate rating. However, there are stairs and some incline. We were thankful for periodic stairs and boardwalks to help us navigate our way through some of the rocks on the side of the hill.

There is plenty of parking fairly close to the trailhead for Tunnel Trail.

A favorite weekend destination! Since it's just a short drive, we love going to take a walk along one of the trails, take in the scenery, and enjoy each other's company

Grand view stays true to its name. West Virginia's own Horse shoe bend. We were here during winter, in December. The greenery were gone, but the views were just stunning. Plan to be here during Sunrise time.

It’s beautiful! Magnificent ! C Grandview overlook is just few minutes from the parking lot of New Gorge National Park. It’s easy not to miss this place

There are many tourists who are stopping by and campers on this area .

We were surprised that no entrance fee or anyone checking on us when we went Inside the park.

The park has a lot of people , families , parties etc it’s a busy place maybe because it’s Saturday and the weather is so pretty .

So many other things to do here . Give it 2-3 days . Nice walking trail as well .

Absolutely beautiful overlook, amazing view epic trails. The overlook is especially beautiful when it's foggy!

It has an amazing view of the mountains and river. There are plenty of parking spots. They have a kid playground and plenty of picnics spots. You can easily spend a few hours at this place. There is a small trekking trail that ends in a closed-door cave.

Enjoy the grandiose view from Granview. This place makes you have sense of how geologically this place is old. Also you can enjoy hiking nearby natural trails.

The visitor center only opens from Memorial Day to Labor Day, so if you visit here for off-season, use other visitor centers.

Great overlooks and trails! We enjoyed the rock formations along the Tunnel Trail and Castle Rock. This park was definitely worth a stop.

I love it their good lace to hike and take family to have fun and great picnic tables and they do live theatres shows and beautiful amazing views to go check out .
