Love this place, no matter the temperature or weather. Today was spectacular, a little chilly with strong winds. I'm sure the water was quite cold, so I stayed closer to the high tide mark on my beach walk. Found some cool shells and several small sand dollars. The shells were empty, but the sand dollars were all very much alive. Since the only reason for me to take them is for decoration, I tossed them further in the water so they can hopefully make baby sand dollars. Kept the shells through. Just a quick day trip for me, I thoroughly enjoyed lack of crowds today.

What a beautiful park! The beach is incredible and the lighthouse beautiful! Be sure to stop at the Visitor's Center on the way in. There are many interesting displays and park history. We decided to purchase a State Park Pass for all SC state parks at a very discounted price for seniors. Comes with a beautiful booklet of all state parks in SC. Our entrance fee for the day was applied to the purchase price! The gate attendant let us know about the pass. Don't miss out going to this gorgeous park if you have the opportunity!

Our favorite place so far the hikes are superb and diverse. The beach at the campground is lovely for sunrise and sunset. The board walk in the marsh is fine as well. Bathrooms clean showers warm if small

Hunting Island State Park is one of the most popular state parks for a reason. There is si much offered here that you could enjoy yourself for days! The lagoon and forested trails are scenic and vibrant. The beaches have clean sand and water. All ages will enjoy swimming and collecting sea shells. The lighthouse offers a playground and history. The marsh boardwalk is gorgeous at sunset. If you're into photography you'll have an extra great time. Entry is cheap but parking can be a bit scarce. Try visiting on an off day to really have the best time.

It's such a beautiful place! Also, part of Forest Gump was filmed there. It's the scene where he was in the war, and he's running through the forest to look for Bubba and saves everyone.

It costs 8$/person. If no guard is on duty, you are on the honor system. The lighthouse is closed for repairs but you can walk around it and into some outbuildings which are informational. We parked by the nature center which was also closed due to a field trip, but it eventually opened. The boneyard beach is near the nature center (last entrance before Fripp.) The regular beach is by the lighthouse/picnic area.

I loved this campground. Wasn't anything super special- but we were fairly close to water, close to the little store, & close to a bathhouse. Some campgrounds are busy & a little chaotic- not this one. I actually relaxed. Bathhouses were clean (hot as hell, could probably use a fan to at least move air, but fairly clean). Beach was clean. & camp sites were clean. Make sure you have boards/blocks because they weren't the most level sites I've seen, but that wasn't really a problem for us.

Great park! Saw an alligator right outside the visitor center! There's a beautiful beach and a lighthouse to view! Only about 20 minutes from downtown Beaufort.

This state park is absolutely stunning! The beaches are clean and well kept. The lighthouse is a beautiful piece of history. Currently, the lighthouse is closed but is expected to be reopened in 2025. The pier at the nature center has a beautiful view of Fripp Island, and if you are patient, you can catch a glimpse of the dolphins swimming. The Marsh boardwalk trail offers a spectacular view of the wetlands and is so full of life. You can watch hundreds of tiny crabs scurry around the walkway.

There are several camping spots near the beach. There are plenty of clean restrooms and showers at the beach access areas as well as picnic areas. The park has several trails to explore if hiking is of interest to you.

You want to make sure to visit The Bone Yard while you are there. It is a beautiful beach full of fantastic driftwood. It is my favorite part of the park experience.

My humble review doesn't do this amazing park justice, nor do my photos. You just have to see it for yourself to appreciate its greatness. When you go, plan to make a day of it because it is packed with amazing adventure opportunities!!!

Absolutely beautiful park! Every area we explored was clean. The beaches weren't overly crowded, even on Memorial Day when some of the lots were full. The two workers we ran into at check in were incredibly nice, and definitely made us want to come back, so we did!
Also, the Marsh Boardwalk Trail is a beautiful little spot to explore, and is a wonderful area for sunsets.
We will be coming back the next chance we get!

My favorite beach to visit in the area, and really in all of the areas that we have traveled. For us, it has not been crowded at all. One day there may have been 40 people there .. we have also been completely alone before. It's always clean . The sand is nice and compacted. It is surrounded by pine trees and oaks and palms, so ZERO commercialization.

There is a fee to get in .. 65.00 got our car in for a week and we've been back just about everyday.

f you're looking for the perfect place to spend a day with your family and furry friend, look no further than Huntington Island State Park. This was our first time visiting the park, and we were blown away by its beauty and endless opportunities for outdoor adventure.

One of the highlights of our visit was the 5km beach, which was not super crowded and allowed us to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing day in the sun with our dog. Our pup had an absolute blast running and playing in the sand and surf, and we enjoyed walking the full length of the beach, taking in the breathtaking views.

Beyond the beach, there is a saltwater lagoon, a historic lighthouse, and several trails for walking and biking, providing endless opportunities for exploration and discovery. We also loved the fishing pier, which was a great spot to cast a line and enjoy the serene beauty of the surrounding natural environment.

One of the best things about Huntington Island State Park is that it is equipped with everything you need to have a full day of fun in the sun. There are many tables available for picnicking and barbecuing, allowing you to enjoy an early snack or full BBQ lunch. We packed up our gear in the evening, feeling satisfied and happy, and headed to a nearby restaurant for dinner.

It's worth noting that the park is open from 6am to 6pm, and pricing is per person. However, there is also an option to purchase a full year pass for $100, which allows for unlimited access for unlimited people.

Overall, our experience at Huntington Island State Park was absolutely fantastic. From the beautiful beach and stunning natural surroundings to the countless opportunities for outdoor adventure and relaxation, this is truly one of the best state parks in the surrounding areas. We can't wait to come back and enjoy this little slice of paradise again and again.

It was so Beautiful! Literally Perfect. This was the first time I had ever seen the ocean in my 40 years of living. So I was excited. The views were amazing. The park was clean and the woman working the booth was so kind and helpful. We were in the area for a Marine's Graduation so i took advantage of being close to the ocean to see it for the first time. I'm very happy I chose this location. I can not wait to take my family there to share this beautiful park and maybe even get to stay there on a weekend get away. 10 or of 10 recommend!!! Must see!! I only got to say about an hour which is very unfortunate but it was literally one of the best hours of my life. This place is not crowded it's very peaceful. There was so much to see in such a short amount of time. I saw what looked to be a cabin or Cottage a lighthouse and a playground some bathrooms and showers for rinsing off after the beach. It seems like there's a lot of really great stuff to do here and I cannot wait to make the trip back.

This place was amazing. Like driving into a jungle. One of the best South Carolina state parks. The boneyard out at the little Hunting Island looks almost otherworldly

Absolutely beautiful park. We saw so many shells on the beach! We loved how dog friendly it was- and all the dogs were so polite and well looked after. There were plenty of places to dispose of trash and lots of signs about local wildlife. We had no problems finding bathrooms or places to wash sand off of our feet.
