Dockside Bar on Edisto

Fantastic seafood meals. Super friendly staff, and the new server, Adaron, was so friendly and quick to bring us everything. He checked on our table at least five times and was amazing. The shrimp were plump and perfectly grilled. I did not expect that in the tacos, but they were the same shrimp that my husband got in the grilled basket. A really cool vibe to the place and I imagine in season the outdoor deck eating is awesome. I also imagine this place gets packed in summer. We are here in March, but I can say that compared to the other restaurants that we have gone to this week, this is the best deal and the best seafood. (We've paid a lot more for lesser quality meals. I don't want to name them because all the businesses are struggling, and it is off-season, and the meals weren't bad- just saying this is THE PLACE to go to.)

We sat on the deck at sunset and had a beautiful view of the water! The grilled seafood Captain's platter was plenty of food and was delicious!

The food here is amazing. We went last night and I got the grilled scallops. They were awesome. My husband got the pick 2 and got fried shrimp and scallops. My parents got the flounder sandwich and fried shrimp. The scallops and shrimp were a lot larger than we were expecting. Unfortunately my toddler who is allergic to eggs and tree nuts didn't have a lot of options. What she would eat she couldn't eat and what she could eat she wouldn't eat. Other than that everything was great. The waitresses were super friendly and the food was so good that we came back tonight and got the surf n turf burgers to go. Definitely try that burger. So good!

Amazing service! The host that seated us was very personable and pleasant to talk with. Our server, Addison, was awesome and suggested local brews for my husband to try. My husband had the best po boy and I had the you pick 2 shrimp and scallops that were hot and cooked to perfection. Fries were hot, cole slaw was sweet and tangy. THANK YOU!!! We will be coming back here.

Fantastic food and service right on the water. Highly recommend the tuna bites appetizer. The wings were perfectly cooked. My family had the chilled crab dip, wings, oyster po boy, fried fish tacos, seafood nachos, and fried buffalo shrimp. I have celiac disease and was able to eat gluten free with a very happy belly. Will be back. Quite the smorgasbord 😂. Kathy was our server and she is a southern sweetheart.

High Tides is a small, cozy, clean place located on the second floor overlooking the marsh. We showed up with a party of 9 including small kids and the staff happily went out of their way to accommodate us. We were initially skeptical because the prices looked lower than we expected, but the food was INCREDIBLE. Great service, great food at a great price. Highly recommend! PS- the blackened mahi was to die for!

While staying for a couple days I tried this cozy place in the wall. But honestly everywhere I've been in edisto it has been cozy. Very nice staff clean and roomy. I recommend sitting out back on the deck by the water. Also recommend the SURF AND TURF BURGER AND THE SCALLOPS WRAPPED IN BACON. Absolutely phenomenal the scallops were an appetizer and were probably the best I think I've ever had. They were not fried but broiled or grilled with the bacon.
The burger was out of this world. Soft bun nice thick burger. Lettuce and tomato but what set it off was the grilled shrimp and pimento cheese. Flavor beyond words. Highly highly recommend!!!!!

Bar food but was delicious. Staff was friendly and very talkative. I had the burger with shrimp everyone else had the pulled pork platter.

My husband and I ordered the Buffalo shrimp, scallops, fried shrimp and the bacon cheese balls. Everything was absolutely amazing! The shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. We ordered the bacon cheese balls due to another review raving about them. So glad we did. I never take the time to post reviews, but this place is definitely a gem.

Best bar, restaurant, atmosphere, and more! Couldn't ask for better southern hospitality and memorable experiences! Must visit!

We love this place. Service is top notch. Parker was an amazing host and unfortunately had to handle some disrespectful guests while we were there…like a pro! Addison is a wonderful server, Tessa a great bartender. You won’t regret it!

Fantastic! The ambiance is second to none. The dining room is OVER the water on a nice screened in dock. The seafood, needless to say, is just the FRESHEST! I recommend the flounder plate, and definitely try the grilled tuna bites!

My son loves the surf and turf Burger, I love the shrimp nachos, nice atmosphere for a bar and grill type place.

BEST FRIED SHRIMP on the island, straight off the shrimp boat behind this outdoor dock where we sat! Delicious fries and coleslaw served up by a fantastic waiter named Rico who had the most gorgeous smile ever. Wish I had a photo to add to this review, because our platters were heaping over with shrimp and fries. Delicious!

We were lucky enough to spend a couple nights on Edisto Island in mid January, thinking everything would be closed up but Dockside Bar and Grill was open. We had our doubts but were pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent! Their shrimp was fresh, generous and perfectly prepared as was everything else we ordered. Drinks were great and they had everything we like. Our waitress let us sit outside to enjoy the water and dolphins. She never once complained about walking all the way outside in the chilly air, and remained very upbeat and charming. Staff and customers were warm and welcoming. We would go back for sure. You should not miss this gem.

This place was clean, the staff was fantastic so friendly and personable and the food was some of the best seafood. The price was very reasonable. My parents said the flounder was the best they ever had and we eat a lot of seafood. It is an older building but we never mind that. Honestly we have loved this island and the people who live here. We will eat here again during the stay.

I have been coming to Edisto Beach since I was about 8 years old, and until recently had never dined at the Dockside. I regret not eating here in the past. We came in and were quickly seated on the covered porch located on the water. We came on a Monday which we found out was $0.75 wing night. My friend and I both got wings, and they were delicious. With wings that cheap, I was hesitant to get them because I have been let down by wings before. They were perfectly cooked and perfectly sauced. The fried pickles were great, and the serving was more than generous. The service was wonderful! Our waitress checked in on us frequently and met every request we made. I will definitely be coming back!

Had to wait for over three hours for reserved room at Ocean Ridge, were hungry and drove over. Excellent experience. Wait staff was awesome. Food was reasonably priced, arrived quickly, was hot and excellent. Flounder sandwich basket, good sized, reasonably priced, excellent fries, good tartar sauce, cooked well , very tasty. Peel and eat shrimp, great. Even grilled cheese for little guy very good. 🍺 icy cold.
