Been collecting knives for years. Bought the Recon 035 OTF and couldn’t be happier. Great quality, sharp, and a very attractive looking knife. Highly recommend

Recon-035 has a way better action than Microtech OTFs. No issue with grinds. I think people don’t understand that this isn’t a knife for cutting up cardboard boxes or apples. It’s made as an offensive and defensive weapon. It’s up to the user to put the edge they want on it.

I'm a knife enthusiast/collector who has handled and owned many OTFs. This past weekend I was on a guys trip with two of my friends who aren't into knives like me, but still own respectable OTFs (Microtech and BM Infidel). Both admitted the Guardian Tactical was smoother and more EDC friendly. Dude with the Infidel asked for a link to purchase an 035 Recon. That's the kind of quality you can expect from these guys.

Also, a few months back I somehow managed to destroy my original blade beyond repair. I sent them money for a replacement and made a special request, which they honored before quickly returning my knife. I'm buying more GT in the future.

What an awesome company! I never knew they were local to me, so I had to check them out. The owner is a super cool guy and was really helpful. Picked up the Recon 040 and this thing is an absolute tank! Beautifully made, and the factory edge is the best I've seen. The craftsmanship, quality of components, and the customer experience will definitely make me a customer for life.

They make solid knives, but I Bought Recon Elite from an online retailer a while back and it was defective out of the box. When holding the knife vertically and retracting the blade the knife would fly in and bounce out slightly causing it not to lock itself back in. It is not a major problem because you just pull the blade out and it locks up, but for a knife that cost upwards of $400 I would expect it to be 100% brand new.

Update: Since posting this review I was contacted by guardian and they’re working with me now to resolve the problem. I’ll update this again when everything is all said and done.

Update 5/7/22: Customer service got a hold of me and told me how to fix it. Made the adjustment and so far it seems to be holding up just fine! Thank you I would recommend them to anyone seeking a hard firing and awesome looking double action OTF.

Guardian Tactical makes some amazing blades with the smoothest action of any OTF. One of my Recon 035 does have a less than perfect grind but these are production knives and doesn't hurt the function in any way.

Best knife Shop ever

Good knives with poorly ground edges. I have recently bought 3 different recon 35s and all had poorly ground blades that should have NEVER made it past quality control, all in the low 9000s serial numbers.
These grinds flare out from 1mm at base to about 2.5mm plus at the tip and are not symmetrical side to side. One edge flared so badly that the grinder had to reduce the tip angle so it didn't intersect with the primary grind. Another one had a roughly finished steel plate under the firing button that made the action rough. It also had burrs and tool marks on the blade, especially near the choil. Out of frustration from having to return knives (driving, mailing back packages, extra shipping costs for me, ect) I kept the last on I received and wonder what's going on with their grinding and qc and laugh at how badly it is ground compared to the 75+ other pocket knives I have, most of which are under $300 dollars.
