Play or Draw

Recently started shopping here and have had nothing but good experiences. I collect Pokemon card and casually play MTG and they have an excellent selection of products for both card games. From sealed products to individual cards, to all the accessories you'd want and need.

The staff is friendly and will normally ask if you need help before you do. There seems to be a regular customer base that shows up to play at their tables, as well. They have a good amount of table space and chairs for you to organize any play session.

Being an avid tabletop board gamer as well, I am pleased with their selection of all the top TT board games on the market. So if you're looking for those, you can find them here, too!

Ohh, I love that place. I haven't been to many card/board game stores but this place, regardless, Play or Draw stands head & shoulders above.

Been coming to Play Or Draw for years now to sale them Pokemon cards, Love this place really kool workers. They always give me a good price on what I bring to them.

Very knowledgeable and great selection of cards, packs, games, and fun to he had here. I definitely will be making this my LGS.

My boyfriend and I have been coming here since we moved to Arizona to play magic and purchase magic related items. PoD is seriously so great, they have an amazing selection of mtg products and singles and the staff are absolutely amazing. Super friendly and knowledgeable, I really recommend it! Not to mention the atmosphere is great for new and experienced players in the play area. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and the store is kept very clean and organized. I couldn’t rave enough about this store :)

I've only been there a couple times but the same guy I see is always helpful. I went in to get my first commander deck today and was instantly helped. Its quite a drive for me to go there but ill definitely return soon.

Of the many LGSs I’ve been to around the country over the past 10 years, nothing has compared to the likes of PoD. The owners have never been anything but polite, professional, and knowledgeable for the business they run. Andrew, Melissa and Joe have always greeted me with a kind and inclusive welcome every time I stepped into the store. The most impressive perks of this place to me have always been the kind staff, the large play area and availability of product. Only a very select few time have I gone in looking for some specific MTG cards that they didn’t have, yet upon my next visit, they remembered what I had asked for in the past and said, “hey weren’t you looking for these cards last time? We’ve got em now.” And I’m not even a weekly shopper/player!
Nothing but love for this shop and the team that keeps it going. I’ll support them for as long as they remain open. Thank you PoD. I’ll see you again soon!

This is a good table top game shop. Practically everything I could ask for in this type of establishment.

Went in there today to buy some cards the guy that helped us, Joe, was really nice. He even complimented my face mask and was concerned about my well being. Will definitely be back!

This place has been around for many years and if your into Magic the Gathering cards it's probably the best location in Maricopa county to find whatever it is your looking for. Trade, sell, or even play in tournaments. Saturday and Sunday they are usually packed with players. Very friendly people, and they carry tons of awesome items from Magic to Pokemon.

By far, the best card shop in the area! They have every card you can think of, all within reasonable prices. Really good atmosphere to hang out to play cards. They also have tons of DnD supplies. Gotta come and check out the shop!

Tons of card supplies, and board games! Love the fact you can walk in hand a list and they HUSTLE to get it back to you and the crowd there is awesome and can't say enough about the the two workers super chill super awesome, they keep me coming back for my yugioh needs!

I can't even remember when I first came to the shop at this point, but I'm happy that I found it. I always find the Magic cards I am looking for and they work diligently despite the number of lists they have. Both the staff and the players are welcoming and it made it easier to become a regular. Even when I take breaks from Magic, I can always come back and know what to expect from them. I just want to thank the store owners for creating such a wonderful place.

Great experience. I was visiting AZ from out-of-state and showed up near closing time the day before a holiday. The 2 gentlemen who helped me could have easily told me, "sorry, can't help you, come back in a week when we re-open". Instead they patiently researched and pulled a number of obscure, hard-to-find older cards that I have been looking for. We came to an agreement on condition and pricing for 2 of those cards, and made a deal that I'm very happy with. Next time I'm in Phoenix I'll definitely visit Play or Draw, and I would recommend them to anyone else looking for great cards at an honest price.

Great place if your into Trading card games and Tabletop games. The owners are really nice and helpful with whatever you need. It will make it easier for buyers to make a list of wanted cards so when you walk in you can just give it to whoever is working and they will find the cards for you. So far every card I've looked for has been at this place. Highly recommend if your into magic

I’ve been consistently frequenting Play or Draw for a couple months now, and I can safely say that this shop is hands down the best LGS in the valley.

The staff here are the most reasonable when it comes to selling/trading in Magic Cards. It’s no wonder that they always have such a great selection. For reference, I’ve made 4 new EDH decks and out of the 300+ cards I’ve needed, they were able to get me all but 2 cards. Not to mention, Joe, Melissa, and Andrew really care about their patrons. They’re wonderful and always make me feel welcomed!

Events here are also always great! The Commander League on the weekends is the most interesting and super fun to play in. Super reasonable entry fees and their added house rules make the game even more fun.

Anyone leaving a negative review of Play or Draw is confused or mistaken. They have the best selection of MTG singles in the valley and the staff is always friendly and has pulled many lists for me. We’re talking obscure 20 year old commons worth less than a dollar, they got ‘em for me. Brand new sold out everywhere else commander staples, they got ‘em for me. When there’s 50+ people in store playing in the middle of summer, the AC is turned up so it isn’t a swamp fest.

My go to card shop for MTG. Especially if you're a deck builder. They have close to 95% of all singles. They have a lot of older packs and sets as well. Great place to sell singles.

Great store, great people! Having read a lot of the negative comments I am honestly more grateful for the people that work at Play or Draw. They are almost always CONSTANTLY trying to do three things at once, including pulling complex lists among myriad card games and sets. If you are new to the games and expecting them to break down everything for you I am 100% sure they will, as they have for me, but not while they also have to conduct business. Imagine being swamped and having someone expect you to drop everything else you're doing to accommodate you! Anyway great place!

A little background, I haven't played Magic the Gathering in over 10 years, but recently got back into it. I had a few old decks, one that I was in the process of building for a competition back in the day. I didn't really want to play that deck, and wanted to get into the Commander format. I was able to sell my old deck (parts of it). They gave me a very fair price for the cards, and I was able to get a few commander decks, sleeves, etc.

The store staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They were patient with me as I was making my selections, and there was a Commander tournament going on at the same time. The tournament was run very well, and I am looking forward to participating the next time I am able to hop in.

This store has become my card store of choice, and I will be back many many times more. I highly recommend coming here.
